DNF'ing a book because of boredom is totally okay by the way, we read for fun unless it's for a class or something lol. We don't have to read everything that was written and we dont have to read stuff because other people liked and raved about it. I know this is like super common knowledge but i still wanted to type it out.
I once DNFed a book because I felt that I enjoy it too much and it was a first book in a series and the rest of it wasn't out yet. I knew I would hate waiting, especially if it would end with a cliffhanger, so I just stopped reading halfway through. I've finally read the whole series earlier this year 😂
My pettiest reason is I couldn’t get over the authors complete lack of variety in vocabulary. Like your story seems good but I’m not gonna see the same words over and over 😂
@@SJisReadingHELP WHAT I can just imagine you being like “ get a grip man jeez 🙄🙄” and it’s the scene where he watches annie murder the police officer 😭😭😭
girl you're so funny!!😭. your rant about daughter of a pirate king was what the world needed to hear btw... i agree wholeheartedly with you😭. im so glad i found your channel!
Honestly, I love dnf'ing a book. If I ain't into it 50 pages in, if I don't pick it up for a while, I'm done. Maybe I'll try again but no promises. Also, I completely agree on the Daughter of the Pirate Queen. I read both books hoping it would get decently better, but it really didn't. I was quite excited to read it when it was recommended but god I hated all the characters so much.
I DNFd a book recently, despite the series being highly recommended because the 2 MCs didnt have two braincells to rub together. Like a five finger shuffle and some basic logic would have made the book about 1/3rd the length.
My reason wasn’t petty. I can’t remember the reason, but I remember the author did something infuriating. The petty part is I only had 2 pages left to read. I refused to finish the last 2 pages because the book made me mad.
I once read a book and halfway through I DNFed it because the book was so beautiful and it just hit me so hard that I knew it was my new favorite book without even finishing it, and I was so so afraid that the end of the book would disappoint me. Then a few months later when I had just come back from a late night out and still had some alcohol in my blood, I sat down and read the whole thing. The beautiful thing about it is that I remember that I thought the ending was absolutely wonderful, but I have no memory of what I actually read. I still consider it one of my favorites til this day, without even knowing how it ends
I DNF'd a book because it kept repeating the same flashback. Over and over again. The same exact childhood scene during the whole book. I enjoy slow-paced books, so I usually never get bored when reading. But repetitions are my biggest ick. I want to learn more stuff when reading, not feel like I'm in a never-ending cycle.
I have DNF’d books so many times bc of the romance. It says enemies to lovers but whenever the characters finally get togther there’s no more banter and tension the romance turns lovey doves I can’t stand it 😂😙
I’ve never DNF’d a book because I already know if I’m going to enjoy the book are not. But once I had to stop reading in the middle of a book because I read 4 books in a row from the same series and all the books are 400-500 pages long, I was able to finish all the books I had though, I still need 3 more books from the series 😭
Watching this makes me jealous that people are out here DNFing books because I bought an entire book series like two weeks ago because I was in the middle of the first one and it was good so far. I kid you not it had THE most unrealistic, stupid, unsatisfactory ending I have EVER read. But at that point, I’d already bought the entire series. So I read every book, and it was the most ridiculous waste of my time I’ve ever entertained
I DNF'd a book (don't even remember the name) because the author used the word 't'was" so frequently that I wanted to hurl it across the room. It was a fantasy book IIRC but that wasn't a good reason for the spamming of that word. XD The only thing I don't get from this video is the person who DNF'd due to a man being on the cover. Wouldn't that have been seen first and thus not been read at all? Or did they start reading without seeing the cover somehow? >.>
I DNF’d a book because the male love interest was compared to a moose in a good way 😖 and also she was supposed to be a ghostwriter and on the last book of her contract she was like ‘I wanna write a different genre!!’ And I was so annoyed just like girl do the job you were hired to do it’s not that hard
I recently read a book that in theory had a very interestingly constructed world. On page 150 I realized that basically nothing was happening, the characters weren't very smart, and the book was almost five hundred pages long. In very, very, very tiny print. If the book were shorter and the print was larger I would probably finish it. But - nope. I'm not going to suffer gods know how long. Thank you very much, I have better things to do.
My pettiest reason: it was an audiobook and the narrator gave a side character the most annoying voice ever. No hesitation, the book was out Also, straight people - my most common reason not to even pick up a book. This romance sounds good? Oh wait, it's straight, nevermind lol
i once DNFed a whole series because of the first book was too chaotic and i don't like the ML povs. its the Dreamland Billionaire series. then I'd never read the Twisted Series despite many love the series because please. all of them was unhinged and its contemporary romance for god's sake. take a chill pill. i used to hate DNFing book but now, I just don't care. I want to read something that fit my need. not my fomo.
I always try not to DNF a book but nowadays I will if the straight couple are not being interesting enough - which is very common for me, lgbt literary all the way

100% valid
The male main character was being dramatic (the book was misery by Stephen king 😭)
Why is this so fucking funny 😂😂 *gets foot cut off* "God stop being so dramatic"
