Dude! At least a year ago and I keep coming back, because I probably saw all the overlord amvs there is to see and I just can't find another one that can even be compared to this one. Man, what a great job, you put scenes that nobody else does, while most just waste time showing Clementine being "hugged" you put much more important parts that are key points in the battle of Ainz vs Shalltear, that part where she breaks the skeleton wall, only to discover that there are 3 magic seals ready to "minigun it". This is just a little bit of how wonderful the synchrony between music and anime is, showing Ainz calmly appearing and contemplating right after the transposition with Gazeff ... Spectacular! The same is true with the death knight doing a deadly combo right after the Carne Vilage flashback. It's pure art!
I know. The whole story of Overlord can be boiled down to "what if someone like Skeletor was smart and competent." It's so fun to watch a character actively work against dumb villain tropes.
The hype is literally making me have a headache because I want it now. Actually I want it to have been released two months ago, this way I'd not have to wait long to binge it. I've not been this excited since they announced Code Geass, Lelouch of the Resurrection some years ago.
If you'd not seen the anime, it almost looks like the Black Knight is trying to kill the Skeleton King. If you have seen the anime, you should know who they are and respect their might.

I desire more Overlord, the wait is killing me, and I'm a shinigami, no idea how you mortals stand it. This is my favorite isekai series, and given the sheer number of those I've seen, that's saying a lot, 2nd would be Log Horizon, and the only reason this beats that is because of how busted the characters in this show are, and how much I enjoy the cast of characters. That said, it's nearing fall which was the expected release date of the new season, I hope it starts airing before 2022, and that the dub keeps up well enough, cause for Overlord I do watch it dubbed, I just like it a bit more, though sub is fine too. There's no need for a dub vs sub debate, merely watch what you like more, if the dub is bad, watch sub, if the sub is bad, watch dub, it's that simple. If they're both good, pick whichever you like more, if they're both bad, well then maybe pick whichever one offends your ears less. I am eager for the new season, I'm gonna binge the series again once the new season is done airing (cause I like to binge anime, waiting a week or more for each episode is not to my liking when there could be cliffhangers each episode).

Cause while I don't have a problem reading manga and such, in fact I enjoy it, I do like it when you don't need to read the source material for the sake of actually seeing the main plot finish. Like for example Bleach, I read the manga because for awhile it seemed like Bleach would never return, and while there's now news of it finally coming back, it's been years. That's because I would say the least interesting thing about overlord is the plot itself, the true beauty about overlord can be summarize by the words "World building". The way the new word is build, the characters are introduced is just magnificent, and that's something the anime didn't do and couldn't have done anyway. It's just how an anime works, it's something continuous, it never stops, you really don't have much choice to show side characters infos and thoughts, and that's why even with a full anime that would cover the entire history, you already lost the most part of the fun. It's normal for you to have the will of having a physical copy first, althout I must warn you that if you don't know japanese, maybe your experience won't be as good as it could, because it's king of a consensus between most overlord fans that the ENG and consequently most other languages translations aren't exactly top quality. They're totally readable, but there are some terms and name choices that desplease most of those that had the opportunity to experience the fan translations, which are truly TOP quality. Does this mean you should not have a official copy? Nope, actually reading both would give you the truly wholesome experience, and listen, I'm not saying just to confort you, in order to really comprehend AT LEAST the most part of all overlord mysteries and foreshadows, it's guaranteed you'll have to learn more than once. Overlord is not an ordinary saga that you start and finish in 1 week, it's that kind of series that once you take a bite you'll want more, you'll need more, the only series that made me feel the same way was One Piece that is nothing less than my favorite anime of all time.

What world building is shown in Overlord already is pretty good by anime standards, I'm sure there's more in the source material but anime does have the means to do world building. I've not watched the monogatari series, but from what I've heard the show is able to catch the feeling of the source material really well, right down to the internal dialogues the MC has throughout the series. Then there's Jojo's, which honestly as good as the source material is, in some cases a lot of people like the anime better. Only slightly, and it's mostly due to voice acting and soundtrack, but it's still top tier. Personally for me I do not have as big an interest in One Piece as I did when I was younger, probably because it's still going and it's likely to end up with 10,000 episodes if the author doesn't stop. Which is a massive exaggeration, but considering my usual exaggeration would be 1000 episodes, which isn't very far off what they have now, I thought, you know what, let's take the usual exaggeration, and give it a x10 multiplier. I have seen a lot of good things in One Piece, but it's far too long a series, and I can't recall where exactly I left off, so it's gonna take me a bit before I decide to dive back into that show for a rewatch. Look if what we've been shown in the anime is already good enough that it's popular and at least from what I've seen not too many source material fans dislike the show either, I think that's good enough, I just want to see more of the show, and not feel like I need to grab the source material. Which sure translations can vary, between official and fan, or fan to fan, it just depends. A bad fan translation can be worse than an official one. The same way a fan dub can be worse than an official one, and in most cases is, mostly cause they only cover a few episodes. Then there's Ghost Stories, which an abridged series would probably be something closer to the actual original translation than the official dub. Cause the official dub is so out there it's downright comedic, it's basically the only official abridged anime series in existence. Which is quite interesting when you think of it. But yeah tangent aside, I will eventually pick up the source material and read it, if I dislike the official translation then I'll go look for the fan ones. But until I finally do that, I'm just gonna watch the anime whenever a new season comes out. So long as they don't do something bad like how Tokyo Ghoul re part 2 was done, I don't think there's any need to be worried about getting the source material right away. Grab it in your own time, cause the anime is good enough in my opinion. And I don't feel like you're trying to pick a fight, so thanks for that, I don't mind having a conversation with people who's opinions differ from mine, it's fine, we live in a society. If someone has a different opinion, it's alright, just so long as they're not being rude it's fine.
Momon is my favorite part. You have a level 100 mage/necromancer pretending to be a lvl 35 warrior by just doing basic melee attacks but his physical stats are so high no one can tell he’s toying with them.
Don´t forget he sometimes uses real armor in combination with 'perfect warrior' for example the hole time in the kingdom (fights momon vs jaldabaoth/demiurge)

Well, a second season is actually needed if not already in progress. In the end we have so many questions, many new characters, new plot twists. I believe the author already thought about a second season, maybe even a third one
They've not yet given a release date but i image it to be in November seeing as the recap movie (part 1 and 2) will then be release on DVD (and shortly after subbed an watchable on the internet)
