  • Once again we will work around matrices. This time I will show you how to find a matrix inverse through the cofactors method. A cofactor is, in a nutshell, the determinant of the minor of any element of a matrix, with a inverted sign if the row and column numbers sum an odd. The transpose of a cofactor matrix is known as adjugate. And the adjugate multiplied by the reciprocal of a number, is called the inverse. Easy, amirite?
If I am honest, I've been looking for a real application of the matrix inverse, but I haven't found anything promising. It is possible to use it to find the identity matrix in order to solve a system of equations, but it's highly inefficient. I won't stop updating myself and if I find something useful, will write it here :).
