PD, you're spot on with this one. David Anthony (main writer on the song) has said that he sold this everglow to Yuehua 2 or 3 years ago, so you're comment about the song feeling outdated is absolutely correct, because well, it is. It's normal that after songs like LADIDA and FIRST where Everglow tried new things with their sound coming back to this feels a bit odd. Now if you imagine a world where this comes out after Bon Bon Chocolat and DUN DUN, it would fit right in. Personally I think Yuehua knew this comeback could not miss at all, so I think they played it safe. They knew they didn't have to drop a banger like LADIDA but they could not have the luxury of having it flop either, so they went for a middle ground. They took a song out of the vault that they knew is completely familar to the Everglow sound and didn't think about it too much. The album sold well and everyone is now reminded that Everglow exists, hopefully they pull something similar to Secret Number and comeback very fast with a new sound like they've done time and time before.
Oh My God, I thought I was the crazy one. When I first heard this I thought "This sounds outdated, like an Everglow song that existed already but everyone completely forgot about. Well that freaking makes sense! I actually caught some flack from Forever back at release for suggestion that it sounded outdated and not the greatest thing ever. I was voicing this out of concern, seeing similar groups like ITZY getting blow back for continuing to use similar sounding music in recent comebacks. I was afraid that the K-Pop community would feel the same way for the long absent Everglow thus sending them back into the Yuehua basement once again. While Everglow is going on tour again, I do think that this song didn't hit as hard as Forever pretended it did. I'm still worried for the group, but glad they are working and hope for a real comeback next year. My personal theory - Yuehua were doing damage control because of the Yena "Hate Rodrigo" situation. I've actually thought that Yena and Everglow are connected for some time now. Let me explain. Yena's 'Smiley' and 'Smartphone' were so big, Yuehua decided to place all their chips on them, which is why Everglow was stuck touring and shooting endless dance covers. But when Yena had some set backs this year ('Love War's new direction didn't click and 'Hate Rodrigo' got Twitter pissed), they sent Yena to Japan to promote 'Smiley' and dusted off Everglow. If what you're saying is true, they had this song ready to go but didn't pull the trigger until Yuehua felt they needed to. Again, this is all a theory. I love Yena and Everglow and I'm not pitting them against each other. I just think it's strangely suspicious that Everglow have been ready to go for a while but haven't, then all of a sudden when Yena stumbles, here they are!
In the end it's all Yuehua's fault, they just don't really care anymore about Everglow so this comeback was more like here take this and be happy we are giving you something
I agree this song was very much a safe bet rather than something different over the top, blow my mind electronic dance track with a new captivating hook. But maybe after 2 years they werent confident in changing it up much? Overall if this came out 2 years ago, i would abssolutely go nuts over it.

I think Yuehua needs to prioritize Everglow more than their boy groups their debuting because ultimately, KPOP is a female dominated genre currently whether people like it or not. Everglow was KILLING it internationally and they slowly got recognition in Korea. I wish Everglow would continue to expand their sound like they did with La Di Da and First.
Totally agree. So while kpop traditionalists keep preaching it's still dominated by boy groups, the main example being BTS and to an extent they are right, in the long run it will be dominated by girl groups because BTS is already showing signs of wanting to expand beyond just the Korean Kpop scene which will leave room for the already established girl groups to step in and take over. @@ot7biasedmashupsIt doesn’t sound completely outdated. Outdated sounds would be 2010 songs and further. This is still in the realm of what songs sounds like. There hasn't been one single second of any of their performances this comeback where any member is lacking in energy or charisma. They're giving their and you won't catch them slippin!!! I'm so impressed with them honestly. They could have went 2 routes, something new and experimental to them or classic Everglow. And they went the latter route. They were gone for so long imo it cemented their sound and they reminded everyone what they're good at. Fans wanted that classic Everglow they had been missing for so long and they decided to give that to the fans with a solid track that was true to Everglows core. ❤️🔥
I really like this song, in a sens it is simple and without fioriture and more you listen more it sounds as an hymn with a bridge and a end extremly amazing
I think it’s just the timing of a song like this after so long, and after First & Pirate, that is throwing you (and many others) off. Like one of the other comments said, if this came out during the beginning of their career, it would have fit in and made more senses sonically. I think their company just wanted to play it safe. I enjoy the song, the bridge is absolutely gorgeous. The MV is kind of bland though. I hope they comeback soon with a better MV and more mature sound.
As a die hard Forever, I agree - especially after being gone for over a year, they played it EXTREMELY safe with this one, when they've shown us so much versatility and range in their previous two title tracks. This isn't a knock on the members, at all - every one of them did what this title track said and they slayed what they were given, but Yeuhua is not supporting them properly. I was really hoping for another First or Pirate, so this was a tiny bit of a disappointment. Still bought both copies of the album, and I hope that they will be able to come back more regularly now, because they still have so much potential.
Amazing channel. I've always had this androgynous look as guys in K Pop, but in my case it was fuel for bullies when I was growing up. I embraced it, used it to my advantage in my acting / modeling career, I was almost the face of Leon in these new Resident Evil games :) To anyone who's ever been a victim of hate / violence because of their appearance, gender, orientation, race: DO NOT ever let a hateful notion 'there's something wrong with me' sink in. Trust me, it's a recipe for self hatred and compulsive anxieties later on. When we suffer and we need a break, it's only natural to think: 'maybe if I wasn't 'different', if I was 'normal' I would be accepted. No, haters will always find something else to prey upon. They're extremely toxic who can see your potential and value but will drag you down with intent and hideus determination, when they notice a slightest sign of insecurity.
Different time, different standards. Back when I was a kid, you're features would definitely be target of bullying for being feminine, nowadays it's actually considered attractive.
SLAY was a huge grower for me, at first I was meh about it, after more listens, now I think its great, definitely on the safer side like you said, but I'm hoping next comeback will be something insane once again
The simple way to put it I think is this song is great for those who just missed everglow. Like the everglow sound. Personally, I missed them a ton the past couple of years so to hear that kind of sound again felt great, in my opinion they don't need to adapt to the new era of kpop (yet) because they've just venw gone for so long. Just the fact that they released a song that they normally would in itself is nostalgic, I think for this one they didn't need to try much or experiment too hard. Hopefully for the next comeback tho, there's something new to it, but for this one, I absolutely love it the way it is
It's like their hiatus put them into suspended animation and when they came back they acted as if only six months had passed instead of nearly 3 times that amount of time. It's a good song, but the sense of being dated keeps it from being great.
I was honestly hoping for Everglow to have a duel title track or a pre-release single and title track since it's really common now. Something nostalgic (Slay) and something new, but it does seem like the album should've been released 2 years ago. I like Slay a lot, but I want Yuehua to put more effort and money into Everglow.
Missing your reactions,,, I just came by to tell u that golden child made a comeback with Feel Me and the song is soooo good……… I mean it became my ultimate fav… cause they kinda went back to the bright type of concepts they used to do long ago… Hope you read this comment and listen to FEEL ME!! Cause it is really good! Anyways see ya!
i remember listening to the song when it came out and i was like this sounds like everything we've heard before and i wasn't rly into it bc i feel like i've moved on from that particular style of kpop and it's like a 1-2 year hiatus and they couldn't even furnish something new and interesting it's just the same everglow we had years ago
I feel that the songs on this album would have been apart of their actual album, weather it will be a full or mini album, we will never know. If you go back to all the previous comebacks they have a a set schedule before the Title track MV comes out, Until this comeback. This comeback did not have a new logo animation video. The logo design on the covers shows the logo in chaos, but on each of the girls concept picks you can see the original logo like that they are going back to the beginning hence why the song sounded so familiar. The song did not start with a member saying their trade mark "Everglow". Meaning that this song is not a true title track but a song that I think would have been a b-Side track to their album but the pressure of a comeback pushed them to release this early. (this is my opinion)
Still waiting for reaction of the two new songs of BB Girls (AKA Brave Girls). They signed with Warner Music Korea and released One More Time and Lemonade
Sorry if I’m off topic, but does anyone know the reason why all the recent videos are titled as The Kulture study Ep.1,2,… etc.? Is the number of episodes mean something, are they limited? I’m sorry if there was an explanation already and I missed it, but I’m really curious to know…
I agree, though it definitely grows on you the more you hear it though it kind of creeps in your brain without realizing it XD Not as good as their other songs like LADIDA but not bad either

When I heard their CB I was surprised, I don't mean to throw hate towards them, i like everglow, is just, it was the first time listening to a kpop group where I felt that the group REALLY needed to change their style instead of keeping it, I think the company released a way too "safe" song that felt somewhat outdated.
I hate taking attention away from other groups, but could you pretty PLEASE watch Cat and Mouse by Black Swan. I can’t get it out of my head. ❤ it’s so freaking good!
Please may you react to any of the 3 newer songs from the fully non-korean girl group Blackswan 🙏🏾🙏🏾 The tracks Karma and Cat and Mouse (both have English versions too) both have MVs and are SO damn addictive to listen to
As a die hard EVERGLOW stan, it's hard for me to admit that Slay wasn't good. I want to like it but I actually think it's their weakest title track to date. The intro was fine. Nothing special and I didn't care for the rap lines. The "Me and my girls, we about to blow your mind" should have been the melody for the whole prechorus rather than Mia's lines. The chorus was catchy but nothing special. Was hoping for a more lyrical sung chorus. The Slay part was fine. I liked the "We born to break the rules" part the most probably. BUT EU ATE THAT RAP UP !! One of my favourite verses from her. That's the only part I have on repeat constantly. I liked Aisha's too. Especially the killer tonight line. I was a bit confused with the "you know that I'm the crown" part though haha. The bridge saved the song. That beautiful vocal from Sihyeon was amazing. One of my favourite bridges of theirs.
This concept is their sound and to completly change that just that to follow trends is maybe also not a good way of doing things. If it would be trendy to take a swim with a bunch of sharks ,I also Not would recommend Everglow to do that Just because it's in the trend. PS: I know quite a overdramatic example.😅
Have you checked out DPR IAN’s latest ep yet??? He has three MV’s out taht I’m sure you’d be interested in!!! I’m not sure weather you can react to it since it’s not necessarily k-pop? But it’s be nice if you could!
Honestly , I think Yehua wants to get rid of everglow, hence they released an old song due to the pressure of having something released. That being said, I LOVE SLAY from the first listen itself. The budget was lower because you can tell Yehua wants to be DUNDUN with them… it’s sad, so let’s support and love Everglow so they can comeback again. They’ve never disappointed and never will. While Slay is a safer bet, it had a successful outcome. They got another win after forever.
hihihi PD, it would be great if you react to DPR IAN's new releases: peanut butter and tears, do i danced, and don't go insane. Really looking forward to check out your reaction on that ;)))
This was the first song by Everglow that’s forgettable to me. I tried to like it but I just couldn’t get into it. I hope the next cb isn’t another 2 years from now and the song choice is better than what this was.

I love EVERGLOW. Their title tracks are top-tier. Their MVs are phenomenal.
Yuppp it’s been a while and you need to update on XG 😂❤️
TRIPLES PLEASE PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE
SLAY was a huge grower for me, at first I was meh about it, after more listens, now I think its great, definitely on the safer side like you said, but I'm hoping next comeback will be something insane once again
Yuehua is really fumbling the bag with Everglow
I have been looking forward to this also!
I'm waiting for this too long 🖤🖤
The simple way to put it I think is this song is great for those who just missed everglow. Hopefully for the next comeback tho, there's something new to it, but for this one, I absolutely love it the way it is
idk definitely not my favorite title but still sooo everglow and still so freaking good??
It's like their hiatus put them into suspended animation and when they came back they acted as if only six months had passed instead of nearly 3 times that amount of time. It's a good song, but the sense of being dated keeps it from being great.
what is this upload schedule...
League of Legends released 'GODS ft. NewJeans' Music Video | Worlds 2023 Anthem.
It's amazing 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
have been waiting for this
I was honestly hoping for Everglow to have a duel title track or a pre-release single and title track since it's really common now. Something nostalgic (Slay) and something new, but it does seem like the album should've been released 2 years ago. I like Slay a lot, but I want Yuehua to put more effort and money into Everglow.
I really liked Slay from the beginning 😊
I liked slay but yes it's definitely not my favorite title track by them
Missing your reactions,,, I just came by to tell u that golden child made a comeback with Feel Me and the song is soooo good……… I mean it became my ultimate fav… cause they kinda went back to the bright type of concepts they used to do long ago… Hope you read this comment and listen to FEEL ME!! Cause it is really good! Anyways see ya!
I can’t wait for your reactions to dpr Ian’s new stuff, I think you’ll love it
they slayed
LET'S GO PD! WELCOME BACK
18 MONTHS IS HOW LONG WE WAITED FOR THE GIRLS TO RETURN. This song met expectations
i remember listening to the song when it came out and i was like this sounds like everything we've heard before and i wasn't rly into it bc i feel like i've moved on from that particular style of kpop and it's like a 1-2 year hiatus and they couldn't even furnish something new and interesting it's just the same everglow we had years ago
Where is PD???? I am dying to see new reactions to the new releases.

Up up up, it’s been a while!!
Sorry if I’m off topic, but does anyone know the reason why all the recent videos are titled as The Kulture study Ep.1,2,… etc.? Is the number of episodes mean something, are they limited? I’m sorry if there was an explanation already and I missed it, but I’m really curious to know…

PD PLEEEEEEEASE REACT TO KISS OF LIFE, THEIR STORYLINE IS SO DIFFERENT AND REFRESHING. YOU WILL LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THEM
I agree, though it definitely grows on you the more you hear it though it kind of creeps in your brain without realizing it XD Not as good as their other songs like LADIDA but not bad either
There's a really neat song by Queenz Eye called This is Love, it's really refreshing and catchy. I hope you can react to them! I'd love to see your reaction
When I heard their CB I was surprised, I don't mean to throw hate towards them, i like everglow, is just, it was the first time listening to a kpop group where I felt that the group REALLY needed to change their style instead of keeping it, I think the company released a way too "safe" song that felt somewhat outdated.
I always watch your everglow reviews. I hope you review the XG Girl Gvng MV too! 😊
I hate taking attention away from other groups, but could you pretty PLEASE watch Cat and Mouse by Black Swan. I can’t get it out of my head. ❤ it’s so freaking good!
Please may you react to any of the 3 newer songs from the fully non-korean girl group Blackswan 🙏🏾🙏🏾 The tracks Karma and Cat and Mouse (both have English versions too) both have MVs and are SO damn addictive to listen to
He disappeared again....

Strongly agree!! Honestly after a long hiatus I expected their comeback to top pirate but ig pirate is too good can't be topped .
PD analyzes the English major of gidle this time.
YAYAYYAYAYA
Please react to the first mimiirose's comeback with 'FLIRTING' 😞🙏
This concept is their sound and to completly change that just that to follow trends is maybe also not a good way of doing things. If it would be trendy to take a swim with a bunch of sharks ,I also Not would recommend Everglow to do that Just because it's in the trend.
PS: I know quite a overdramatic example.😅
Slay is best comeback of this year
PD BRO…: CRAVITY HAVE HAD TWO COMEBACKS SINCE YOUVE LAST REACTED TO THEM 😭😭😭 PLEASE WATCH GROOVY AND CHEESE AND READY OR NOT
Groovy is Cravity's best song😍
Have you checked out DPR IAN’s latest ep yet??? He has three MV’s out taht I’m sure you’d be interested in!!! I’m not sure weather you can react to it since it’s not necessarily k-pop? But it’s be nice if you could!
PD make a review for the virtual idol Plave toooo
Where you at 🦥🦥
BBGIRLS PLEASEEE
One word: Outdated
I love everglow, but come on
Honestly , I think Yehua wants to get rid of everglow, hence they released an old song due to the pressure of having something released.
I’m so happy that they did decent with this one; I hope it shows yuehua that if they actually work on it, EVERGLOW is a very viable success.
New ONF mv btw PD-nim! Hope you can react to it :)
STRAY KIDS LALALA PLEASEEEEE
hihihi PD, it would be great if you react to DPR IAN's new releases: peanut butter and tears, do i danced, and don't go insane. Really looking forward to check out your reaction on that ;)))
This was the first song by Everglow that’s forgettable to me. I tried to like it but I just couldn’t get into it. I hope the next cb isn’t another 2 years from now and the song choice is better than what this was.
PD, please do Triple S' Lovelution - Girls Capitalism!!
I really want to see reactions to kingdom’s comebacks from long live the king until now😢. I enjoyed watching the other kingdom reactions and would like to see them
Please Reaction "POW"

And the song "Amazing" is a song released to show performance
There are 5 members, including 'Yorch' a former trainee A.
