It is very helpful to know well about this tester. Pretty good. One small tip: the device uses TDR theory to measure length, so the length should be more than 10m, it would be more accurate. otherwise, it will display 0.0 meter if too short.

Subbed! First one! :) If I wanted to test the existing network wiring from a wall jack back to the switch, would this device do that and how would I do that? I am used to using a toner on the jack side to simply find the connection on the patch panel. Just curious how to deal with in-wall jacks.
Step 1. Using the Emitter and the Wiremap Plug, test a pair of Cat5e/6 patch leads to confirm they're good. Step 2. Plug the Emitter into the wall jack, set to Scan, and use the wand to identify the patch panel port. Step 3. Use the second cable to plug the wiremap plug into the patch panel port you identified in step 2. Step 3. On the Emitter, move the patch cable from the SCAN Port to the CONT port, set the Emitter to CONT and OK to test. I reckon that'd do it?
Hi, if i krimp connectors on cable, but second end of the cable is for example on another floor and behind concrete wall, will be working wiremap and continuity testing, or both ends of cable with connectors must be in one room?
Hi, what about poe scan mode... how it's work.. in all videos that i see on youtube, autors realy skip this ability. No one show , how its work in real life.. in a different way from a dig/analog scan? I have to use the same port for it... In the past i broke more cheeper device, when install patch with poe in its port for scanning :( I ordered 8209.. but not reseved yet, can you help me in my investigation? ;) tnx
I believe it is for running a tone on a port that is connected to a POE port. It uses different pairs to carry the digital tone separate from the POE ones.
Es el mejor review que es visto de este equipo. Todos los demas no detallan los elementos propios del equipo. Muchas gracias. Saludos desde chile!
Great video! Thanks Brandon.
This was really helpful. This seems to be the cheapest for the features on amazon and there are not many youtube videos going over the features.
I wanted a simple tester, but finding one which measures length is great. Ordering mine right away.
I'm gonna try one from WISH.

Yes it will, you may need to unplug it from the switch side. Thanks for the sub.
Hello ! The Cont Testing ...can it show the Open Circuit at the end of the line ? like show X at R or M point? Or just show both X at R and M ?
What kind the battery type used for this tester bro?
