Because carol is just an over all uninteresting character, and pushed by people who have no idea how to write a great character. Monica is just a better character and should’ve been pushed to the front and not just as a sidekick to carol. It's too bad they cannot get their writing in better shape let alone the final drafts of some of these films. I know many are going to make this political about how "representation wokeness" ruined the movie. But being blunt, bad storytelling is far more dangerous than any woke story components to the success of a movie. It's too bad they cannot get their writing in better shape let alone the final drafts of some of these films. I know many are going to make this political about how "representation wokeness" ruined the movie. But being blunt, bad storytelling is far more dangerous than any woke story components to the success of a movie. For the few viewers you lose from one side you gain from those otherwise underrepresented. But ONLY if it's at least good to start with. If it's even just "so so" that is not going to cut today's box office.

It's so easy to dismiss others because of their race/gender/etc based on silly excuses.
