The exhibit, African Accents: Modern Designs from Traditional Textiles" focuses on fabrics like bogolan / mudcloth, kuba cloth, kente, adinkra, ankara prints and batiks from across the continent. Lisa uses these to create quilts and wall hangings, handbags and accessories and more. The exhibit was part of the Center's series entitled Textiles: Reimagining New Jersey, which ran thru 2021.

I fell in love with West African print fabric when living in the UK last year. The availability and variety is endless in London! You've shown me how to incorporate large prints into quilts pieced with small fragments.
