I love Hana so much. From her sliding the door open at the very beginning to her throwing tantrums- everything about her is adorable. Kotaro giving high fives is so sweet as well.
Wow, the intelligence in Otters is baffling me over and over again. It takes a ton of intelligence for an animal to realize that the thing they are carring got entangled and then to untangle it, but for Hana it was a piece of cake, she retraced her steps perfectly without a second of confusion.
Otters are definitely on the list of "thank goodness they're small and cute because if something that could chew on a human could figure that out we'd all be doomed" animals. Also on this list are crows and dolphins (an honorary inclusion because while they're not particularly small, they are strictly aquatic and thus unlikely to lead a revolution)
@@Greenapple. Octopi are the smartest of cephalopods but their intelligence level is roughly on par with that of corvids, ie crows/ravens etc. Smart for sure but Dolphins are the smartest non human animal to our knowledge.
@@Taigatot the problem there is lifespan, adult octopi are developed to the level of crows but they also live much much shorter lives than crows do, like 3-5 years, only mating once and dying shortly after. Theres just not much time for octopi to figure things out. I remember seeing somewhere that octopi develop at about half the pace of a human baby, so a 2 year old octopus has the cognitive age of a 1 year old.
I just love watching Hana and Kotaro. Thank you so very much for letting me into your world. I suffer from major depression and this is the best medicine. Yes, there are countless 'animal' channels, however, the way you translate in blue or pink (or another color, when there is a visitor) makes it so easy to follow the 'story-line/voice-over' that you have created. Hana and Kotaro are just beautiful. I have never seen otters as pets (here in the U.S.) but they seem to be very loving and gentle. Although the water may be a problem for some, I love all the water I can get into myself, so I can relate.
It looks like Kotaro loves it more than the old hose and Hana as usual hates all hoses!!! It was really cute watching Hana try to get it out of the pool and great seeing Kotaro so happy playing with it!!!
Living in a poor country I'm having double the fun watching these adorable otters to then send the video to my mom and listen to her rant to the screen about the waste of water.
That was one of the cutest and funniest videos ever. It’s hilarious how differently those two see the hose. I cannot believe how angry Hana gets at hoses. She’s dead serious about it too. What’s crazy is that she’s begun to let Kotaro play with it without scolding him but if mom or dad pick it up, look out!!!I love them so much. They are the best animals on UA-cam. No one has more personality and your narration really adds to the adventure. Just wonderful work!
@@niko7903 I couldn’t agree more. When I’m feeling heavy stress or anxiety and I see a new video pop up from them I immediately fill with joy and anticipation of seeing our sweet little friends. I sometimes feel so dumb that I talk and think about them as if I know them but I watch them so much that I almost feel like I do. I’d give anything to spend a day playing with them. Watching them swim is so beautiful. Watching them wrestle in the water is so hilarious. But nothing is cuter than when Hana gets excited about salmon and starts gorging on big pieces and going NYUM NYUM NYUM NYUM. ha ha ha. It just warms my heart. .

Hello from Orange County, California! I wanted to say that I love kotaro and Hanna the most! Aty, Ui, Odashi, Sakura, and little Tororo are cute. But, I found you guys first. So, I looked forward to seeing the new vids!! Kotaro is so sweet and cute playing with the hose! And giving dad high 5's! Hanna though...haha!! She is a handful and requires a lot of patience. You guys know what Hanna likes (food and cuddles) so why not try and give her a treat when she lets Kotaro play or if you could get her to associate something good with the evil hose, that might help! You are doing a great job!! I really like that you let the otters get all the screen time. I believe you are both sweet and caring parents that take good care of these little otters. Hana and Kotaro are supposed to be on a diet. I don't think giving her a food /treats when she is angry or to prevent her from being angry is a good idea. She will associate when she get angry / behaves badly with getting food so it may cause her to get angry more frequently to get more food. I wouldn't put it past her.
@christine I understand what you are saying. And I was thinking about how to train a cat. My cat was hefty. I would call her Tubs McFlubberton. But, while in the process of getting her outside to get some exercise, I was able to do some positive reinforcement with her food. I wouldn't free feed. I would call her to come back every few minutes and give her food that she liked. This eventually led to me being able to call her back from wherever she was on our 1/2 acre property in Garden Grove. This might not sound like much. But she was always an indoor cat. And she would always come to me because I kept giving her food. Once it was a regular behavior, I didn't have to keep giving her 'treats' for positive reinforcement. She would just do it. They had to train both Kotaro and Hana how to do high 5's and the chin resting on the hand. So, they have already done some training with Hana. I wasn't trying to say to just give her treats for nothing. It was meant to be used as a positive reinforcement to reward behavior from Hana that is good. That's more of what I had in mind.
Kotaro absolutely loves the hose. It’s the only time I ever see him open his mouth as he grasps at the jet with his hands which I always imagine his way of smiling XD.
Uh oh. New hose. New rubber snek. I know for sure Hana would mark it as her nemesis. 😂 The professor on the other hand cant wait to do some research and experiment on the new hose. 😄

Hana and Kotaro are supposed to be on a diet. I don't think giving her a food /treats when she is angry or to prevent her from being angry is a good idea. She will associate when she get angry / behaves badly with getting food so it may cause her to get angry more frequently to get more food. I wouldn't put it past her.

@christine I understand what you are saying. And I was thinking about how to train a cat. My cat was hefty. I would call her Tubs McFlubberton. But, while in the process of getting her outside to get some exercise, I was able to do some positive reinforcement with her food. I wouldn't free feed. I would call her to come back every few minutes and give her food that she liked. This eventually led to me being able to call her back from wherever she was on our 1/2 acre property in Garden Grove. This might not sound like much. But she was always an indoor cat. And she would always come to me because I kept giving her food. Once it was a regular behavior, I didn't have to keep giving her 'treats' for positive reinforcement. She would just do it. They had to train both Kotaro and Hana how to do high 5's and the chin resting on the hand. So, they have already done some training with Hana. I wasn't trying to say to just give her treats for nothing. It was meant to be used as a positive reinforcement to reward behavior from Hana that is good. That's more of what I had in mind.

Kotaro absolutely loves the hose. It’s the only time I ever see him open his mouth as he grasps at the jet with his hands which I always imagine his way of smiling XD.
