Excellent tent, I have the footprint, summer mesh inner and extra pole set and used it in all conditions and never had any issues with it. Sets up in 5-10 minutes max, and the trickiest part is switching the inners around... but that's what a garden is for.
Hi 🙋🏼♀️ just wanna say another massive thanks for posting me out Gary glitter 😂😂😂 it made me laugh so much!! I’m at the station 🚉 ready to get the overnight train up to fort William x
It's my pleasure. I hope you have a great time and better weather than we did. You are on the cusp of a great adventure. Have a good one and take care of Garry.
Hi, many thanks for the great review. Can I ask how tall you are? I am 6ft 3” tall and after a 4 season lightweight tent for bike packing… Would I fit in it?
I removed the central guy line from each end and then took the side ones back to the middle to form a loop. I put an adjuster on each end to allow me to adjust it from each end. The whole lot looks like a W in shape. It is more easily adjustable and you need less tent pegs.
Hi Stu , Is there a video in the making of your trip up Scotland mate , Great vids mate keep up the brill work Claire a myself love watching them . Regards Paul and Claire .
Hi Paul, there is a couple of videos from our trip. I'm meeting Davey next weekend so we cam share our footage. The videos should be epic. I'm so glad you enjoy the videos. They're great fun to make.
Morning Stu , great review mate, takes me back to my Vango days. I’m sure you’ll get the leak sorted , bit of a downer that , but otherwise looks really good . Thanks mucker catch you soon 👍👍
Hi Steve, the leak is sorted, my poor seam sealing rather than the tent to blame. It's a little cracker. All the tent I will ever need. Thanks for watching buddy.
I am thinking about one of these as an upgrade to replace my Robens Starlight 1. The sand colour is ace. As already mentioned, everyone seems to have sold out.
Good morning, have been looking at both the Akto and this tent. I know my mat will fit the Akto but not sure if it will for the Abisko 1. I use the extherm down mat 9 LW. What sleep mat is yours, looks like an extherm also?
Hi Nick, My sleeping mat is a Mountain Equipment Aerostat 7 Down, it is the long variant. I have about 450mm spare length. There's plenty of room in the tent. Thanks Stewart.
@@cleoburywalks1286 it’s more the width I was concerned about. I have hat the mat in an Akto and it fits but has to sit about 10cm from both head and foot end as the tent widens. The shape of the Abisko is similar but specs say it is slightly narrower. If the mat has to sit centrally I’m fine. Mat is 197/65cm. Thanks for feedback👍
Hello. Assumes that it is the intention to close the zipper in the inner tent when you have opened the ventilation and that the ventilation is therefore only in relation to ventilation between the outside and the inner tent? If the tent is wet when you have to hike on to the next place to stay, do you then pack it down together or do you dismantle the inner tent and pack it separately so that the inner tent is not wet when you pitch it later in the day or do the inder tent not get wet even if it is packed together? Which end do you put up in the wind head or foot end?
Hi Jakob, I tend to keep the inner lightly open, even in winter, to keep the condensation down. When the tent is wet I pack it away as one, the inner still attached. When I pitch it I dry it with a sponge and it air dried completely in minutes. In strong winds I pitch it foot end in to the wind.
Hi Stuart, Cracking review. I was looking at the Abisko lite 1 and am v close to purchasing one, but also like the Akto. I also noticed the Tarp 1 in the background of your video. Do you know how these would compare to the Abisko (in terms of robustness and value)?
Hi Keith, Personally I think that the Tarptent Scarp 1 and the Abisko 1 Lite are on a par quality wise. Personally I prefer the Abisko, it is easier to pitch, easier to get hold of and I really like Fjallraven as a brand. I will have a word with Davey and Gordy and we can sort out a Abisko/Scarp/Akto comparison video. I think all three are super strong and will stand up to most of what the UK has to offer weatherwise. Thanks for watching.
Nice bit of kit that chap, I think we've all arrived at the point where we've all got the best in everything there is in this game, time to move onto a new fad!!!😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you for the review, it helps a lot! I'm planning to buy the Abisko footprint too, does it come with the pegs or I will have to purchase them separately? Thank you.
Thanks so much for this video. I just got this tent and automatically went to seam seal it despite reading about the seams expanding. I've only done the outside and used gear aid silnet seam sealant. Interestingly, the seam sealant I've put on the side of the hoop facing away from the door has started flaking but only on the material where the single poll is inside. So I'm wondering if that material is not silicone coated. Any ideas?? I guess I need to seam seal inside too.
The material does appear to be silicon coated. A quick look on the Fjallraven website will answer that. Don't worry about it flaking because the sealant will stay in all the needle holes.
Hi Stuart, fantastic review based on experience and knowledge regarding the gear you used in different conditions, subscribed. I’ve got the tent today, same cracking colour. Now, clearly you recommend seam sealing inside and out, if I’m not mistaken the tent is made of nylon therefore diluted Silnet seam sealer would be all right? Regards, Florin
Stuart, I'm really enjoying your videos. Keep up the great work mate! One question for you...You mentioned you changed the how the guy lines at the ends of the tent are configured. Do you have any illustration of exactly what you did? It looks like you eliminated the center guy line and attached the remain two guy lines to the center point on the vent, effectively halving the length of those two guy lines. Is that about right? Cheers, Steve
Hi Steve, That's exactly right. When the tent was supplied it had three guy lines, I eliminated the central one and attached the ends of the outer ones to the central guy line loop. It means less pegs and quicker pitching, I also think it makes the tent easier to tension. Thanks for watching.
Great review. Just had my first outing in my Abisko in the South Downs. It’s a great tent. Any chance you can do a video tutorial for your configuration of the guy lines? Either way I have subd 👍
Nice review of a tent I have just purchased. As a previous Akto owner I liked the end guying system that you have used on the Abisko but why do you think its better? I guess the slight advantage for me is two less pegs, just curious thanks.
Hello Cleobury walks. I want to ask the you both ABISKO LITE1 tent. Because I want to buy but its difficult to buy on different websites it's out of stock. From that shop you was buying. Thanks for information.
In the UK I would look at either Trekkitt or Ray Mears as they both stock Fjallraven tents. They are both reliable sellers. I hope you get sorted out. You won't be disappointed. Thanks for watching.
Hi Jo, the end vents in the outer have midge nets in place. I close the zips in the tent inner as they do not have nets. So far I haven't had problems with insects in this tent. Thanks for watching.
Welcome aboard! I will do some more reviews soon, they seem very popular. I will only review kit that I've owned for a long time and given some hammer.
Thanks Stu. One other thing. I was quite keen, but is the weight right? On Fjallraven's website it's heavier by a fair bit. Really not criticisizing. Just want to know as I'm keen from your review. 👍

Just bought a sand coloured 1 tonight, thanks for taking the time to do a great review 👏🏻👊🏻🏕🏔🏴
My pleasure.
Did you buy extra guys for each end of the tent to allow for the same guy set up as the Akto? If yes from where?
I reconfigured the original guy lines, I needed extra adjusters, purchased from Amazon. Thanks for watching.
one minute in.... this is superb!! Liked and subbed...Off to watch the rest. Very impressed!!

From the tent guru that is praise indeed. I love the tent, its all the tent I will ever need for backpacking. Thanks for watching.
One of the best tent ever
Totally agree.
Double pole spunds great.but does it make any sense when fly is 20d only?

The footprint clips to the tent and can remain attached. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Looks to be too thin internally. Can it fit a 25" inflatable pad?

That's a novelty- someone reviewing a tent they've owned and used- not fresh out of the packaging and erected on their lawn. Thanks.
Thanks. That's the way it should be.
