Tom was 30 and really at his peak as an actor. His looks were amazing too. I will always love this movie and Anne Rice was a great writer. The movie would not exist had it not been for her great talent. Rest in peace, Anne.
Tom is always at the top of the world. Tom is a Hollywood legend since the 80s and has a worldwide box office of $12.3 billion. Even now in 2024 he is super famous.
This is the best vampire movie ever created
Blade is very good also. But two completely different movies though.
It’s been strangely forgotten though
YES IT IS !!!! GOD LOVE ANNE RICE !!! AND MAY GOD BLESS HER SWEET & AMAZING SOUL !!! REST IN PEACE MY MENTOR !!!

Drácula, Ford Coppola is great too.
It's such a damn shame that queen of the damned wasn't filmed like this, they had their actors a perfect cast just like this one but man they dropped the ball so badly, it could've been a one of the best vampire movies ever...sadly Aaliyah and the music soundtrack was all that was great about the movie
That soundtrack was amazing.
@@tmntchad yea that soundtrack was one of a kind, not to mention Aaliyah looked so goddamn gorgeous

I can’t believe I forgot how beautiful Tom Cruise was! He’s still handsome to this day….
I just couldn’t respect the movie with him in it.
@@sarcasticallyrearrangedwhat is is that so bad about him? I’m not in denial of it but I really don’t know much about him.
@they hate him because he believes in Scientology cult. They don't know to separate the art from the artist yet here they are watching Tom cruise's interviews lol
I don’t think that he has much range in certain roles, this one being a good example.
Also, he’s very far from the character in the book.
Tom refused to do certain aspects of the story and it lacked in certain parts.
He was phenomenal.
Just like the vampires in her books, Anne Rice has become immortal. Rest in peace.
oii
Im really inlove with this movie since i was in my elementary. Now that im on my 30's still watching it. Truly my favorite.
RIP Anne Rice, the mother of all vampires.
I feel like the true fans will try and preserve her stories. AMC however…
Anne Rice died? How did I miss that?
@@reasbey it's sad but true 😔
And I am her older daughter Vampire

Amazing how they did all this without the use of modern CGI and motion capture! I really loved Tom in this. And Kirsten as well.
Agreed!!!
Their Vampire fangs are the best lookin from all vampire movies. They look so realistic and subtle
Buffy, blade, underworld, the vampire diaries and the originals etc took from IWAV 3 fanged style. I have a pair of my own for Halloween etc

Saw this when i was a kid..younger than kirsten..and kirsten Dunst blew me with her acting skills..🤯
Kirsten Dunst was great as Claudia and she has the hollywood walk of fame and she was nominated for an Oscar recently.
Tom is amazing as Lestat. Love it.
Werewolves are my favs, but this movie is HANDS DOWN my favourite vampire movie. What's funny is in these interviews Tom looks like Louis and Brad Lestat. Lol.
Yeah 😂
The best hair Brad with nice lips. Best fingers Tom pulling cuffs to play piano. Best nails Antonio pointed shape.
the way tom played Lestat made anne rice apologize to him after she saw the movie.
Why?
@@exmrsnowwomanscorned8369 because she underestimated him, she did'nt think he was the ideal actor to play lestat.
No wonder Tom doesn't want to reprise the role. Anne was basically bullying him, even the fans, people are so ignorant. This reminds me now of how the fans dislike the new tv show of IWTV, because Louis and Claudia are played by black actors, yet they never seen it, its just pure racism, but they use excuses.
@@joann3190 Some might be racist, but others might just want to see the Louis and Claudia that their imaginations conjured from the book descriptions. That is not surprising, and it's not racist either. For my part, I had reservations until I saw the new trailer, which was amazing. Now I'm greatly looking forward to it.
@@joann3190 but weren't Louis & Claudia (in the novel version) were portrayed as Creole? But in the movie version in 1994, their characters were played Brad Pitt & Kirsten Dunst. Now, which version is actually promotes racism?
Anne is with her little girl now .. RIP ♥️
Brad Pitt was just beautiful in this film. One of my favorite films.
RIP Anne Rice . She was an amazing writer and an amazing person. I met her in person quite a few times at her book signings and as a writer myself she was kind and encouraging.
20 minutes in. Antonrio Banderast shares the entire metaphor in the most brief and simple way possible.
Classic and iconic vampire movie. R.I.P Anne Rice
I absolutely love the music they use in the movie, it wouldn't be the same without it.
Always been one of my favorite movies since I was a kid
Just now after reading the comments, i googled Anne Rice, and saw when she died. I cried. I read ,, Interview with the vampire, and ,, The vampire Lestat". They amazed me and so did the movie. I feel so sorry for her death, she made me fall in love with vampires. I will never forget her and her art.💖💖💖
Don’t forget. She was hugely against the casting of Tom cruise initially
I was OBSESSED with this movie in 7th and 8th grade but wasn't allowed to see it yet!
Best of all Vampire movies! 4 Great Actor's coming together and giving 100%
I love this movie. My favourite vampire movie by far.
It’s so interesting watching making of movies like this you don’t realize how much work and time behind the scenes goes into certain scenes it’s incredible
I love their handsome faces Louis and Lestat
This my favorite of Tom Cruise
Lestat is my idol , thank you Anne Rice for this charachter !!!
I honestly don’t remember the first time I saw this movie. I know I was roughly 10 and my mom rented it for us to watch. She had already seen the movie and loved it but didn’t own it and she knew I loved vampires so she figured I’d like it.
Sitting there with my mom watching this might sound strange but I grew up watching a lot of more mature films so this was pretty tame. The moment that opening music came on and the camera began passing by the people in the streets, I was enthralled. Something about that music and the sense of mystery. The entire tale of adventure and gothic horror had me glued to the screen and when it ended I felt like the interviewer. I wanted more this couldn’t be the end!
I absolutely love everything about this film it is a timeless classic in my eyes and vampires have never been so interesting in film since.
That must have been quite the experience at 10 years old. I remember every movie I watched before puberty had a special sort of magic to it.... BTW, if you haven't read the vampire chronicles yet, you definitely should asap... I read them as a stoner teenager who didn't read books... Some of the best books ever.
One of my favorite films of all time. My husband and i are reading through the books
Bram Strokers Dracula Interview with the vampire. & Salems a lot Are my top 3 favorite vampire movies ❤❤❤❤…
I just came here to check how they did the cancing on the tunnel's ceiling scene. Not that I didn't know about that old trick (using a spinning set), but in this case, the tunnel looks SO real, so aged and convincing, that I was super impressed they took the time and effort to achieve such a perfect replica for such a small scene. The only thing that gives it away is the fact that the camera suffers from minor vibration due to the whole mechanism, but they could fix it now if they wanted with digital stabilizing. Amazing film that, just like vampires, hasn't aged one bit.
So many brilliant minds, skills and creative, off the chart thinking brought this novel to life... loved the book and the film and enjoying hearing the people involved talk about their experiences and thoughts about getting the whole project into the light
Ann Rice isn't dead, she's slumbering in a coffin somewhere. Nothing can convince me she isn't a vampire
Just saw the movie (I know i'm late). Lestat was the best character, really funny lines.
The music is so incredibly beautiful! Just perfect for this film
Everyone in this movie did a great job, even Brad who hate it but for me was his best performance ever
Beautiful Lestat! And the other 2...lol Gorgeous all of them and Great movie
One of my Favorite movies of All time
Tom was tremendous as Lestat.
Descanse em paz querida Anne rice
Today I learned that Armand was in Spy Kids.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer was not therapy for teenagers, it was just relatable. Was a teen around then, and I hardly viewed it as "therapy".
Long hair for men should come back
YEs!!!
I agree
don't worry we are
Saw this movie 8 times. It was awesome.
1:45 One of my favorite quotes about the book!
I Always loved❤💖this Movie☺💖they All did An excellent job❤❤the best Movie of vampire❤☺l've ever seen
I’m Kirstin Dunst’s age and I was so jealous of her being in this role acting alongside Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt at their peak. Such a good movie, no other vampire movie other than Bram Stoker’s Dracula, another great 90s vampire movie, comes close but this movie still tops it. Wasn’t a fan of Christian Slater in it, too bad River Phoenix passed away or he would have been in the role.
R.I.P Ann Rice!!!!!!
R.I.P 😔
Thank you very very much for upload this documentary!!! I LOVE this movie
❤
This and the Lost Boys I remember recently find Lost Boys if I ever did not like this as a kid I take it back I can understand it now just like the Lost Boys I was to young and it spooked me but Brad was Fantastic and Tom well this was when he was still at his best before his religion was all anyone talked about
I had not seen this video before! Was very interesting.
Vampires "have ALWAYS been" my all time favorite creature. For lack of a better term, [at present time.] Gargoyles, are a very, very close 2cnd. Which, i think the The Creeper is.
This is my favorite vampire Story of all time. I read all Ann Rice's books. ❤️🖤🤎🖤🤎 Ann Rice, you always will be around us....
Wait, David Geffen, as in The CEO of Geffen Records? I thought he only did music, I didn't know that he did movies too!
David is a millionaire many times over from investing into everything!
l love this movie, but reading The Vampire Chronicles, the movie was like a watered down version of the book. The book was more gruesome. For example, in the movie, Claudia just cut his throat and didn't want blood on her dress. But in the book, Claudia slash his throat, stab him in the chest, and bitten him, so many times that the room was almost covered in blood, and when it's done, she was covered in his blood, and didn't care. And they suck their victims dry and sloppy, whereas in the movie, they did it proper and clean. And they didn't even cry or sweat blood. I love the movie, but as the cliche goes, the book is 10× better.
wow I didn't realize how gorgeous Ann Rice is she's a beautiful lady
To be honest I just prefer a pair of long canines like fangs. In this movie vampires had 4 fangs instead: two longer canines and two shorter front teeth. Anyway great movie.
Late Anne Rice.
R.I.P
I like this film but I wish they could continue the same story for the sequel
" You weren't always a vampire were you?"
Brad , no need to say anymore ❤❤❤
If you could convince Christine Seba Akfalty to send over the Wisconsin Titles

When was this recorded? Looks like many years after it came out (1994)
Brad Pitt has that Legends of the Fall look and that was the same year as Interview with the Vampire.
Tom Cruise has that Magnolia look which was in 1999. Kirsten Dunst is not a kid in this interview.
i think it's a compulation made for the DVD Special Edition.
It does say 1994 which coincides with Pitt making Legends of the Fall, so I suppose that’s right.
I just don't want my housebto be setbon fire
Kaiser Sadoon
Teaching classes on vampire fiction? University of California. Not surprised.
But he just wasn't satisfied with my body
Antonio a G
This is true then yes I want to benforever young
Antonio banderas makes a very convincing 17 year old blonde boy.
Tom cruise was amazing in this film. Brad Pitt was boring. Tom/Lestat carried the film ngl
Watched Queen of the damn and only liked stuart. The rest wasn't imo what I expected. Didnt like it at all. Aliyah was beautiful and all but didnt like her performance
I just wish the movie would have kept it as authentic as the book (e.g. homoerotic).
It was a different time... From what I hear, the new TV series takes care of that plenty... I'm not watching that garbage, though. It might even be good, It's the principle. Woke hollywood needs to learn when enough is enough... Race swapping a slave owner from the eighteen hundreds is about far enough.
No none of them in the hospital
😍
Ameer
No brad.I heard was miserable filming with, tom
I heard Brad say that too. In an interview he said he was miserable and couldn’t wait until the shoot was over. He said they only filmed the movie at night and he couldn’t sleep during the day, the contact lenses were so annoying and he said the constant rain made him feel sick. 😅 but I loved him in the movie, to me after reading the book , he was the perfect Louis.
@diannezosche9833 yeah.maybe u can help? If u remember the ending, how did lestat recover soo fast?before he bit, daniel lestat looked old & burnt. Even before he bit, daniel, lestat skin looked normal?
So we can open up Lake County
Ugh Neil keeps saying You Know what I mean, You know, Ahh, Umm, And. Using unnecessary filler words is bad public speaking. So many people even news casters do it. Not hating just pointing it out ✌️
But he's not in a public speaking situation, he's a director being interviewed about his work. It's odd you think it's only Neil Jordan. Stephen Rea also says, "you know". The actors are also inserting uhh and umms and ahhhs. His style of speaking is quite common for Irish people anyway. I much prefer people to speak in the way that is most natural to them in these kinds of bts q and a's. You're more likely to get more thoughtful and candid responses than those who have been media trained to the last.
Now I'm losing weight because I refuse to believe I'm bipolar
Anne was gonna chnge one charcter to a woman because she felt Holllywoodwas too homophobic to get the film made or to do it justice I am glad she was wrong
Hollywood cut a lot of the homoerotic aspects regardless.
How would she know if there were real vampires or not 🤔 mixed in with 8,000 people??
Antonio Banderas is a great actor, but he was 100% miscast as Armand. Armand in the books is a child with flowing red hair.
He was 16 with auburn hair
Kais Sadoon but he is married to an older woman we won the lottery together
Then that means I'm not bipolar there the same medications
The new show is a joke by comparison
I totally agree!!!
FACT 👌🏻
now this is the real interview with the vampire movie. not that new one that came out on oct 2 2022 on AMC where the vampires are gay 😂
The vampires are pretty gay in this movie too.
Their "gayness" is actually taken straight from the book(s), so stop with your homophobic bs.
Someone obviously didn’t read the books 🤣🤣🤣. Lestat and Louis are lovers. The movie had to tone down the gayness because of homophobes like you.
Boy, won’t you be surprised if you ever read the book!
@@sarcasticallyrearrangedexactly and sam and jacob are amazing
Nope even all these years later, Tom Cruise was terrible as Lestat. Nah. Idc.
More like Interview with Gimli. 😂
The only redeeming value was Brad as Louie.
But, it's comforting to know that the new one can't be any worse than this.
Anne Rice loved his performance. Said he was perfect.
Darn it, Tom Cruise nailed everything EXCEPT the 6-foot-tall aspect of Lestat. And his creepy interview scenes with the candelabra during this documentary? Hilarious.
And please... a college professor teaching "vampire studies"? Truly, the term "extra credits" has become a cult fiasco among tenured fiends who want to bag their students.
All in all, this "documentary" loses itself in its final minutes, once its theme gets sidetracked by off-base assertions incited by incidental agents who appear to be catapulted by Anne Rice's trademark pop-eyed enthusiasm about her own works. We should've been satisfied with astounding recollections and laudations from the ACTUAL STARS OF THE MOVIE, but wishful thinking about superstitious nonsense actually seems to "poison the well" during the closing minutes of this farce. This was supposed to be a documentary, not an episode of "What If."
At least Stephen King never pretended to be a religious goofball. He has always resigned himself to be a lucrative writer of novels, and not a purveyor of institutional moral aggravation among tipsy Christians in love with their own angst and desire to explode the planet in the name of their combined imaginary friend. I LOVE Anne's early works, and I LOVE her early interpretations of human ciuriosity, but her later-in-life flip-floppy Catholicism leaves MIUCH to be desired if we're going to get a good picture of her actual volume of literary intent before her passing. I am fateful to resign myself to her voluminous literary remnants; nonetheless, her breadth of FANTASTIC supernatural imaginary glut far outweighs the mortal increment of her last installments, and I wouldn't broad-brush her ultimate intent if I were you.
However you may disagree with me, we should all remember her as an icon of independent thought; unsurpassed moral inclusion, and victimless outspokenness.
Haha i Love Antonio Banderas at the end
