Wow, great card! It made me remember what started my watercolor journey last year, when I bought the first three sets. Such a great medium. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work.
Loved seeing how you played with these watercolor pencils and I'm looking forward to seeing you use them more. I am not an experienced watercolorist, but have been pleased with the results I've achieved when using these on a few projects.
That’s good to hear. I’ve been working with my daughter with these. We’re having a lot of fun mixing the colors together. I’ll make another video soon with these pencils. Just trying to free up some time. ❤️
Very beautiful! I do love watercolor pencils. I rarely just color on my image, but I do what you were doing in the last part of the video. Using a water brush to pick up color directly from the pencil.
STUNNING! The colors are gorgeous as is that floral image. So much depth and dimension! I may buy some in the future, I really need to finish organizing my craft room before adding more to it lol
Love your color palette and ink smooshing that adds so much depth! I have the first 3 sets and just ordered these but still need to use them more-hoping to get the beautiful effect you got here!
Tim was saying in his video that you are going to get the little manky bits if you push harder because he didn't want any fillers in the pencils. Fillers apparently stop those tiny bits. Other youtubers have been flicking them off on a wet piece of scrap paper to use as a background. Great video. Thanks❤
Your card looks beautifully and all those techniques are interesting. I lately got 2 packetages of these colors and I like the hues. BUT: i can't see the great advantage of those sticks. The Pigmentation is much poorer than in the Albrecht Dürer watercolors pencils or the neocolor 2 from caran dache. The application for smudging techniques is easyier with color sprays, if you like the colors which I do. And even the colors are similar with other brands, which of course haven't these fancy names. Until now, I can't see the point of these colors. Are there any techniques I missed, perhaps on dark or toned paper? Or on top of the oxid colors?
You didn’t miss anything. The pigmentation is not strong. I’ve played with them more since this video, mostly with my daughter. I do like the Distress rainbow, I think it’s unique. But I prefer oxides most. I like the pencils to color and distress with, and that’s about all I do with them now. Color, and spray with water for a messy look. I would buy these for a friend who doesn’t watercolor, but for those that do, I would pass on them.
I collect the shavings from the watercolor pencils and use them for watercolor painting so don’t discard them. Also hot press water is smoother to paint on..
Thank you. Now I know. I have Arches Hot Press watercolor paper, I love it. I wanted to see what the pencils did on cold press. I really like the results. I’ll try them on hot press to compare. Thanks so much for the tips!
What is the brand of paintbrush you used and where did you buy them? I have sets 1 through 3 of the pencils and am excited about getting the new sets. I am still learning to watercolor and enjoying the distressed colors.
I love the distress line. I keep my Oxides on my desk next to me at all times. The brushes I’m using are Silver Brush Black Velvet. If you live near an art store, they might have them. If not, DickBlick is a fantastic online art store. I get the majority of my brushes from there. Here’s a link to one of my favorite watercolor channels. Hi! They’re watercolor pigment. They’re not as vibrant as some watercolors, but I don’t think they’re trying to be. I would recommend them for mixed media, grungy projects, and in my case, for my daughter. She does great with them. To watercolor a scene, these would not be my first pick. They’re not as vibrant as other palettes I have. I’ll play around with them more and make a video in the next few weeks. ❤️
STUNNING! Loved seeing how you layered the inks on top of the watercolor pencils! What a beautiful touch! Thank you for sharing, Angelica!
Thank you for letting me play with the new pencils!❤️
Loved watching this watercolor process. You made it look so easy. Beautiful painting. TFS
Your blue/indigo tip is the best tip! tfs
You are so welcome! Thanks for stopping by!
Stunning! 🤩 Adding the blue color at the end added so much depth and contrast! 👍🏼👍🏼💖
It’s so fun! Polychromos Indigo pencil is my favorite blue to use for depth.
Your water coloring and smashing is so great and so beautiful. I love this card.
Thank you❤️

I already had at least one set of standard watercolor pencils but bought the 4 to 6 tins and the pair and single since I like the Distress colors.
Beautiful! I love how you explained your thought process on adding the other colors to deepen the shadows!
Thank you so much Beth!❤️
Agree. I’m mesmerized by this video. ❤

This is absolutely beautiful!! I love that ink smooshing, it added so much texture. Great idea and I’ll definitely be trying it.
I’m waiting impatiently for my sets 4,5 and 6!
Best watercolor pencils I have ever used are sets 1,2 and 3!!!

How incredibly gorgeous! I'll have to try this technique!!
It’s a lot of fun!
Thank you for the demonstration and instruction. I have set 1, 2, and 3 and haven't used that much, I need to practice.
I need to learn how to swatch better. I ordered set 1, so I will be practicing again soon. Swatching is a fun way to practice. ❤️
So pretty!! I have the pencils and haven’t used them yet🤷♀️
Your card is gorgeous! I just got the 1,2,3 but haven't used them yet. Still want to get the 4, 5 and 6 sets!
Thank you for sharing ! The flowers are beautiful!
I have the first three sets of these pencils! I love using them!
Thank you so much. I just bought my daughter the first set. I’ll probably buy one a month until we have the first three. They’re so good for her!

Hi! Are these pencils different from other watercolors?

If you wouldn't buy them why should anyone else?
Did I say that? I don’t remember saying that. I’ve actually bought set 1 since then. They’re perfect to watercolor with my daughter.
