IMHO Bilingual people tend to be socially more aware of each other, and more kind/patient with one another in general. Maybe it's because they have a cultural understanding of 2 worlds vs. only knowing one? This was a great episode.
This was actually really interesting to watch, coz my parents literally TAUGHT eachother their respective languages, _while dating._ They didn't work together or have to be around eachother at all. Somehow they just met at random, and knew they had chemistry immediately. Ultimately it _was_ cultural differences that did end their relationship though. Swedish women tend to be independent and self reliant, where Mexican men tend to lean very traditional conservative. They were basically destined to hit a wall. But to this day, it's obvious they still have a unique chemistry that wasn't just physical attraction. Though they'd definitely both deny it lol.

Language differences definitely has to do with why people are nicer in general. Language processing has such interesting connection to parts of the brain that controls cultural behaviors

That happened with my Grandma and Grandad. 🤷♀️ They married and we’re together for life. My Grandad was Polish (an airman) and my Grandma English. My Grandad couldn’t speak a word of English when he got here, but he learned and spoke English for the rest of his life, as he had very little contact with his Polish family after the war ( except for his Dad, who also came here to the U.K.) his Dad was never able to speak English, I don’t think, so Grandad had to interpret. To be fair though, looking at the pictures of my Grandad when he was young, I understand why my Grandma was willing to though the language barrier - he was very very handsome!

More than annoying, I think its quite sad to see a pattern where in a lot of media Bangla-speaking people, both Bangladeshis and from West Bengal, have a representation of "we dont speak the language very well though" and this is ofc in Western media.
