Japan is the most aesthetically pleasing country in the world. Even the alleyways, man hole covers and backyards look beautiful.
GuyWithAnAmazingHat Either beautiful, off the wall hilarious or super cute. I live in Kyoto atm and Japan is truly the most amazing place I've been to so far. I had high expectations and it has so far exceeded those expectations by far
It can be really special (although I wish they would do more to get rid of those overhanging wires that are so clearly visible in many places in Japan).
PapaQ Short of burying them, there's really no decent way to hide them. The problem with burying is first, the cost. It costs more to bury power, cable, and phone lines than it does to string them up, especially when lines need to cross where buildings or other existing infrastructure (roads, water lines, etc) are.
Second, Japan is tectonically active, meaning lots of earthquakes. Not just big ones that we hear about in the news, but also small ones that can barely be felt - literally hundreds per month - some barely registering on seismometers. Even minor quakes can move the ground a few millimeters to several centimeters, or even half a meter, which means every so often, one would need to dig up and repair lines that have been damaged or destroyed due to the seismic activity. That adds greatly to the cost.
I find the cables really interesting, they give the landscape some layering detail, whether it's in a street or across a country side, they provide some sense of scale and distance, which is why they are often used in anime and manga as back grounds.
Thank you SO much for using our new song in here!!
No, thank you for the amazing music!! I was so inspired by your new song and haven't been able to get it out of my head! :)
It's a beatiful song, which fits this gorgeous video perfectly. Great job everyone!
Lovely, lovely uplifting song. Fits this beautiful video perfectly 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Amarante Music your music is sooooo good!!! When I first listened to it I loved it already great job:)
The song in this video is Awakening by Amarante!
Link to their official video: ua-cam.com/video/YY7M6TFYsTk/v-deo.html
One thing Jun and I both have in common when we edit is we build our videos around music that inspires us, which means I’ve often spent hours scouring the internet for appropriate songs we could legally use before even opening our editing programs. Amarante has been inspiring me for years, and when they released this song I absolutely couldn’t get it out of my head and knew immediately I had to use it for this video. I believe the music is what makes our videos, and I owe a great debt of gratitude to Amarante for producing such beautiful music yet freely allowing UA-camrs to use it. It’s thanks to artists like Amarante that UA-camrs are able to take their videos to the next level, and our channel wouldn’t be the same without them. If you like their music please follow their links and show them some love! :D
You always pick great music ..One of the reasons you guys are so awesome at this ^_^
Wait, that was them?? Some of their songs were used in the Jane Eyre UA-cam series and I loved them then too!
When i say I love Japan, this is the stuff i mean ♡
Maru chu Ikr? When I say I want to go to Japan, people call me a weeb. lol I don't even watch anime though
ahh, I watch anime but not excessively. I more prefer the animation/drawing side of it. But I still find the Language and culture absolutely beautiful, i get called a weeb for it heaps lmao
Lol I watch a ton of anime and love it!! I also love this type of stuff too though! It's kind of silly just because someone does this or that and gets made fun of bahahah, I mean it's never happened to me but what others think of me doesn't really matter (especially online people I don't know lol)
If I don't get to visit Japan at least once in my life, I have failed. XD
I don't think theres an English word for how I feel after watching this. There is a German one tho - Fernweh: Being homesick for a place you have never been to. Your shots are so beautiful!
Also thanks for all those awesome videos. I've been subscribed to you for ~4 years and you have never failed to amaze me. ❤️
Das Eiki I feel that same feeling every time I see photos or videos of Japan's landscapes and places to visit.
Das Eiki, I know the feeling....I visited Japan this time last year and I honestly feel some kind of homesickness every time I see these videos or the photos I took of my trip. I thought I was just being really weird...
Das Eiki it seems like there is a word for everything in German lol
Das Eiki the Japanese word for this is nataukashii. It's like a longing for something that you miss. Sometimes you get this even if you have never been there or experienced it.
Reminds me of a quote from one of my favorite movies of all time: "Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world, I feel like I can't take it." ♥
Philippe Parle Peu You can t. Try to catch everything you can, but you won t handle all the beauty of the world. It works the same for the opposite.
It's impossible to fully explore all the beauty in the world in your lifetime.
日本の美しさを発信して頂き、ありがとうございます。同じ愛知県に住んでいますが、行ったことが無い所ばかりです。動画で旅行気分を味わっています。
Jun don't be shy
Recently went through a breakup with my long term partner. I was really down, but now I realized I have the whole of Japan to explore and more than enough money to do it, so I am planning a trip to Gujo Hachiman. Your video on the town really made me want to go. Thank you so much!
Have fun, Japan is beautiful and the people are very friendly. I suggest couchsurfing if you can.
Japan is an amazing place. So glad that you feel inspired to explore more! :)
こうゆう日本の美しさとか魅力とかって

Nice video you two! Crossing my fingers of meeting up soon to sightsee
Rachel & Jun. If You guys meet up can there be footage of this encounter on both channels? I love you both!💖
akidearest If you get to meet them can you make a video of it. It would be amazing! Love you!💖 And your video's.
That was beautiful! Fantastic video 🙌😊❤️
This made me cry, it was so beautiful!
so Rachel is the beauty of Japan but the hidden beauty of Japan which is hidden is Jun
Wow, Japan's nature and it's beauty are what dreams are made of... All the landscape shots look straight out of a painting (1:58, 1:59, 2:02 remind me of Monet's "Water lilies" series paintings!)
That's actually what that pond got famous for, and now it's known as the Monet Pond! :)
It's really, really small though, and since getting kinda of famous it's always super crowded so I personally think it's better to skip visiting it if you have limited time in Japan and just look at the pics/videos online.
Oh, I see! Thank you for the explanation! 😊 (and for the "too crowded" tip ahah)
Oh my dream... I’m totally obsessed with Japan❤️ For real... 🥺❤️
Japan is such a beautifully diverse place! :) Makes me wanna go travelling this instant!
It's beautiful because of it's LACK of diverse people tearing it up like everywhere else in the world. The Japanese are smarter than that. Point to them.
@@tenthemexican8391 landscape is diverse. People are not diverse and that's a very good thing. Diversity and multiculturalism destroy cultures. If it were up to the elite all cities would look the same..
japan is truly an amazing country
こんな綺麗な場所もあるんですね〜
僕も行きたくなりました!
ありがとうございます!
*Epic* year!
Thank you for sharing it and Jun's parents for caring for your beasts!
I know it wasn't really the point of the video but the really subtle way Jun films her seems to say a lot about how much he loves Rachel. And that just makes me feel some kind of second-hand happiness.
Japan really is lovely, and it's really well exemplified by your gorgeous cinematography. Good job!
The best way I can put into words how beautiful this video is, is simply to say that it's almost unnatural how stunning these places are. Also, that is the most accurate reaction to being able to feed a deer by hand.
This is so beautiful
Amazing! Japan no doubt is......what can I say...I'm speechless. Its just the best❤💯🇯🇵
My husband and I just returned from beautiful Japan. Our first visit was incredible. We hit the cherry blossoms at peak . I had watched some of your youtube segments for tourists prior to going. It was so helpful especially in regard to train travel (remembering to take your ticket after you enter) as well as all the buttons on the toilets ! Love the privacy music ! What a safe, clean, lovely country. Rush hour on subways was something to experience.
It was amazing to see how many people can jam into a train or subway car !! Very punctual trains and subways ! The people were so polite and helpful . Shopping at Takashimaya department store was a wonderful experience with extremely attentive customer service . The conveyor sushi is a fun experience. We took our bathing suits but realized that is not kosher when enjoying the hot springs. No need to pack the suits !!
Thanks so much for posting tips for guests in Japan.
Blessings to you both !
Japan is such a magic place!
It's a bad place, a great place and that depends on who's watching. Everything is subjective.
For me, Japan is magic.
Thank you for this beautiful video 😀
Absolutely incredible. Japan is such a beautiful country and this just makes me more inspired to learn about it along with its language, culture, traditions etc. This definitely makes me want to go visit there even more now! Great video👍🏼🇯🇵😊
I’m hoping that when I grow up I can go to Japan. It’s been my dream for a long time.
I remember when this video first was released from you guys. I remember the sheer awe and astonishment I felt while the sights interlaced with the music took me on a journey to remember. And remember I did, I have come back to watch this video multiple times in the past five years. In that time, so much in my life has changed, gone up, down, and sideways as life tends. Though every time I came to watch this video, none of it mattered. Seeing this video for the first time and multiple times following has enabled me to establish a remembrance of happiness that has become a crucial tool in wading through the rough patches in life.
I appreciate so much that you had the vision and took the time to put this video together all those years ago.
美しい動画を作りましたよ。本当にありがとうございました。
この動画を見て
「あ。日本に生まれてよかったな」
って素直に思えました
Japan is so breathtakingly beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful video!
I really want to travel to Japan someday. This country is such an amazing and beautiful place. Its locations, its culture, its people, its language. They're absolutely something to fall in love with, as a cultural and lingual enthusiast.
日本, あなたを愛してます! ❤🇯🇵
And video's like this one are the reason I want to visit/explore Japan.
Rachel & Jun,
Congratulations with 5 years in Japan and using UA-cam to share it with the rest of the world.
wow breathtaking! i love it.
Cute that Rachel was in a lot of the shots. It means that she too, is one of the beauties of Japan in a way.
When I am sad, I always search for this video to watch it. It kinda makes me happy again. Such beautiful shots and clips ✨
Makes me want to live in Japan even more, thank you for this! :)
Even the drainage at 1:49 looks beautiful.....I'm probably obsessed with Japan's beauty
Japan is love! My most favorite country in the entire world! Also your channel brings me so much nostalgia of when I used to watch it back when I was a kid! Best wishes, much love from Serbia!❤
Living in America. I feel like America has lost what natural beauty truly is. This amazing.
I've gotta disagree with you. There is so much natural beauty throughout the entire country. I live in Michigan and I adore this beautiful state. The Great Lakes are incredible and so are our wetlands and state parks. Get in your car and drive across multiple state borders and you'll see how gorgeous it is. :)
However, I do agree that Japan is amazing!
One of the pictures reminded me greatly of looking up at the tree tops from below within my tent at girl scout camp as a little girl in Virginia. So, the beauty is in the US, too. I was actually hoping that Rachel and Jun could do the same type of video in the USA, but it would necessitate them living in the USA for a year to capture all of the video.
ehh i agree and disagree with that, there is still is a lot of natural beauty in America, but it's not as spread out as Japan. plus i think that Japan feels/looks more "natural" because it's more uh authentic? traditional? not sure what word i'm looking for haha but yeah America still has some places that are really beautiful, just feels different from Japan (at least that's what i think anyways) but both still beautiful in their own ways!
There's TOOOONS of natural beauty in America!! There aren't many countries in the world with untouched nature across just about every climate zone. You just might have to travel to see it!
One thing I always miss here in Japan is what it's like to just drive through the hilly, wooded neighborhood streets in Cincinnati. Most cities here in Japan are crowded onto coastal plains and what isn't used for infrastructure is used for farming, so there aren't many trees until you go into the mountains. And because the cities are so crowded you can't really see the stars here much at all. I don't know what city you live in, but it's very possible that there's a lot of beauty there that you wouldn't really recognize until you leave and find out that doesn't exist everywhere. :) Like in Cincinnati in the evenings backyards will be full of hundreds of fireflies, and I just took that for granted my whole life growing up that that was normal. Here in Japan they're pretty hard to find. Jun was amazed when he first saw our fireflies in Cinci, and would just sit on the porch watching them!
Keep in mind in this video I'm just showing highlights, which are framed to look the best we can possibly make them. If I had the time and money to travel all of America to do the same I guarantee that video would blow your mind as well. ;) Take a look at this subreddit if you haven't--they show beautiful pictures of natural landscapes around the world and they're labeled by what country/state they're from. You can easily see how beautiful America can be! goo.gl/WgiOYx
So happy I followed your advice and went to Fukui! :)
Tojinbo was absolutely stunning!!! Incredible!
Also, I'm happy that I recognized so many things :D
I'm so glad you liked it!! Fukui is definitely the most underrated prefecture! :D
Japan is one of my favorite countries, and I wanted to visit Japan since I was like 5
one of the most modern, yet one of the most cultural and traditional places. amazing
i like the background music
How did you manage to get so many shots with NO other people around? Everywhere I go in Japan seems so crowded...
You either go off season, super early/late in the day, or you just wait for the 10 second window where the crowds have parted :p
Japan+Rachel+Jun= awesomeness ❤️❤️❤️❤️😝😝😝
Japan is country where a man feels peace of mind, where you can see natural beauty love you Japan
OMG *immediately goes to buy a plane ticket to Japan*
Me: I love Japan
Friend: Because of anime and that Miku girl, right?
Me: ._.
This video and music is insanely beautiful, I can’t stop watching it.
Japan is magic !!!!!
This Video is absolutely gorgeous 💕
I was kinda expecting it to say "this was a promotional video, paid for in part by the Japanese tourist board" at the end.
レイチェルって立ってるだけでも本当に絵になるよなぁ
振り返る、笑うなどの動作が加わるともう最強ですね
Wow, I really appreciate not only the high quality of the footage, but also the way in which it is ordered by seasons. It makes me feel like I've lived a year in Japan in the span of 3 minutes.
Very aesthetically pleasing, I love it!
I'm so excited to go this summer. I'm so ready. Gosh, Rachel is so pretty, too. Makeup always on point and you look cute in everything you wear!!
Nee Uthipratuma that's exciting!!! People have told me its unbearably hot in Japan during the summer, I was wondering how/if this would affect your travels?
Just prepare to sweat, make sure you always have water/sports drink to stay hydrated, and plan some indoor activities throughout the day to take breaks from the sun every now and then and you'll be fine! :)
I live in Northern Mexico and most people I know, when they travel very far, prefer Europe, and indeed Europe is beautiful, but they don't seem to give a chance to Japan, while many have been in Europe, only like 2 people I know traveled to Japan! and I hope to become the third person to travel to Japan in my social circle :)
Japan is absolutely breathtaking.
Samurais, shogun, honor, wisdom, monks, tradition, family, the most I admire from Japan
So beautyful😍❤
I live for beautiful videos like that
This video is so beautiful - music, the visuals, the places, and especially you guys. How anyone could this dislike this is really beyond me!
Wow this is simply gorgeous and a beautiful song too.
とても美しい映像でした✨
感動しました。。
レイチェルが画になる!素敵!
(*^o^)/\(^-^*)
構成が素晴らしい!
its precious. jun pines for her and this video ties her beauty, the music, and japans beauty together so perfectly. it makes me hella emotional.
Japan is so beautiful, in my opinion the most beautiful country in the world! Its landscapes, its culture, its people and customs are so rich and engaging, it just draws me to them like a magnet. After visiting Japan for almost a whole month traveling around, visiting cities and towns, this is the place I really want to live. One day I will get my chance to move over there and be truly happy. 😊
Wow. This made me really wanna go travelling now XD
correct the title,
"Beauty of rachel "
fits welll.😁
You see, the song is really well chosen. It motivates to make your dream of living in japan/visiting the country come true
I don't know if Jun does all of your camera work, but Holy Cow! it's really amazing. If Jun isn't already a professional cinematographer , he should be.
So Rachel's nickname is "Japan"? I see.
hi love you videos I wanna go to Japan so bad
This is just straight up out of anime. Speechless. Thanks Rachel and Jun for making such a wonderful and professionally shot/edited video.
Japan is so beautiful. This video made my heart ache with longing to go back.
I went to Japan with my Japanese best friend's family ten years ago when I was fourteen. I spent time at their house in Tokyo and they showed me so many places all over the country. Japan truly mesmerized me.
For the last ten years I have studied every aspect of Japan and it never bores me. I have never been able to afford to go back there yet, but soon I will graduate uni and if everything goes well, I will be able to afford to go there again. I cannot wait.
Sorry for the super long comment, but this video really moved me. Please keep on making videos like you always have, they're amazing! Thank you for teaching me so much about Japan over the last 5 years and making the wait for a first-hand experience bearable!
Still one of my favorite videos on youtube.
Thank you for this amazing video!!
Magical......
These are my favorite kinds of videos. Serenity....pure bliss....I miss Nippon!
you guys are epic
Why aren't there any shots of Jun wearing loose clothes blowing in the wind in slow motion? Is Rachel the only one considered part of the "beauty of Japan"?
If you can convince Jun to pose for video shots please do. I've been trying to get him to for years.
Well, consider my comment as a call for an equal amount of shots of Jun. Does Jun have self-esteem issues and think he's not all that good looking? Even though I haven't watched any anime is forever, I also want to see more Asian looking people in anime. I have a friend who watches a really old anime (from the 70s? 80s?) and everyone in that anime is Asian looking, so there was a point in time when it happened.
I wasn't asking about you, I was asking Rachel and Jun. You seem to want attention because you love talking about yourself when nobody asked.
I think it does have to do with self-esteem but most people aren't willing to admit it.
busi magen very well said, I feel the same way. Not everyone wants to stand in the spotlight, you don't need to have issues with self-esteem for that. you might even argue the opposite.
Also, not a cry for attention, in my opinion, if you just calmly lay out your point of view.
If Jun doesn't want to be on camera that much, that's fine with me. All the more enjoyable to see him pop up here and there :)
I always love Japan 🇯🇵
I think....that I will watch this video once every single day. It is THAT beautiful. This was the most beautiful thing to wake up to this morning Rachel and Jun. It literally stole my breath and these are only videos. The prospect of seeing this all myself some day....Just thank you.
Rachel and Jun, I just want to let both of you know that I think you are two of the luckiest people in the world to have each other and live the life that you do! I know it's probably not all rainbows and sunshine every second of every day (I'm too old to believe that), but I see in your videos a deep and abiding love that you have for each other and for the world that you inhabit. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us. Please don't stop! :)
Autumn was always my favorite part of the year in Japan.
This is so refreshing. It practically makes me want to cry. Like, tears of happiness.
I just got back from Japan yesterday and watching this just made me miss it so much! it's such a stunning place and I can't wait to go back!
This is the best video made ever by Rachel and Jun. I am stunned.
Omg so beautiful 😭😭😭😭 even with the song, it all gave me the chills
I used to watch this video to help me sleep when I struggled with depression and suicide. Thanks for the beautiful videos 💙
THANK YOU FOR 5 YEARS ON UA-cam!! Or... 5 year 2 month anniversary. Here's a list of every clip in this video, in case you want to put any of these spots on your bucket list! :)

Awesome! Hi there. :D
Rachel & Jun Thank you for sharing a beautiful country with us 👍
I'm off on holiday for 3-4 weeks next year and want to see as much as I can and I enjoy learning Japanese
wow that was so artistic its made me want to visit Japan even more, how long did it take to edit, im thinking a very long time
excuse me rachel and jun i have been a long time fan and i would like to use this video for a presentation that i am doing of japan so i would like to have your blessings and approvals
Rachel & Jun wish i could visit Japan one day. it's amazing how Japan retains its nature and culture despite of the modernization.^ω^
