I really liked how they wrote Sasha and initially showed her as a funny, food obsessed girl. But with her story unfolding, it was incredible to see the reason she is this way is because she has gone hungry most of her life. Food insecurity causes children to defend food like this. But then we start to see her father and see how that mindset matures in someone who grew up in such a situation. How he is helpful and caring of strangers and willing to share. It’s easy to share with people who have nothing because one remembers having nothing. Sasha’s father is that and reminds me of a saying the elders from where I am from used to say. “Giving what is extra is not sharing, it’s charity”. Sasha’s family gives even when it’s not extra. I’m glad they included characters for everyone and why Sasha Braus is and will always be among the favorite of the AOT community.

in case you didnt noticed (because Crhistas friend name was suddenly dorpped like that and its understable that you would get confused after seeing the OVA), but Ymir actually told Sasha something really nice. She told her that screw what other people think and that she should talk as she wants.
Attack on Titan is such a great show. The author knew the whole story before he wrote it and has planted so many small details and Easter eggs in it. This is the only show for me that is 10 times better on the 2nd watch. A small glance from one character towards another in the very first episodes can be a huge hint towards a major event seasons later. Can't use examples cause of spoilers, but trust me, watching it a second time, after you finish it all is so worth it.

It's great that she noticed their accent. So many miss that. In Japanese they have a Japanese country accent too so the translation was done with the American version of a country accent.

I think that the thing that's so upsetting about the smaller titans is how a horrible death it is if one off those gets you. With the bigger ones you die almost instantly but with the small ones you will suffer a lot off pain before you die from bloodloss.
When I originally saw this episode I actually thought it was just another human. But I just had the thought when watching this that the small titans like in this episode literally can’t eat you in one bite like the others. Their mouth is literally not big enough so that why it has to munch on them
The way AoT gives us a sliver of a win to build us up then ends with pain is so mean. First Eren beats Annie and she seals herself. Now Sasha 1v1s a titan and reunites with her family only to parallel Connie coming home to his village destroyed. They play with our emotions so much in this show.
Oh wow that's a great insight! Even to the end of the story as well. Like yin and yang. Life and death. Pain and pleasure. 1s and 0s. Balanced as all thing should be.
AoT has the best written female characters in most things ive seen so far. Not mary sue characters with plot armor, but with some actual meat and story behind them and their actions. Im not a mikasa stan, but hange, christa, sasha and a few more are just brilliant to me.
@@Notski don't get me wrong. She's super strong and easily the most capable of the recruits from her year. She has badass moments in the show that give me goosies. I just like the others even more. Especially Sasha, a large part beeing this episode. Hange is just a banger whenever she is on-screen and I loved her more with each consecutive episode. And Christa, well I'm biased because I had a huge crush on her xD But the choices she makes throughout the show are a certainly showing immense depth and character growth to her too.

In the Manga chapter that showed this situation the Creator of the AoT manga planned to have the Titan bite off Sasha's head killing her, but when the Editor saw the scene in the Manga he went to the bathroom and locked himself in crying at the thought of Sasha dying. It was so bad that the creator of AoT changed the Scene to allow Sasha to survive and escape......
In Japanese Culture there are Southern Japanese accents, but when they go to a big city like Kyoto or Tokyo they tend to speak, as close to possible, proper Japanese so they don't get looked down upon....
