Something small but cute, when Aziraphale calls Crowley and gets his answering machine, he starts talking to it like it hes never heard it before. "-course I know its you! I called you! I know where the antichrist is!" He had never heard Crowleys voicemail before because Crowley ALWAYS answers when Aziraphale calls him. 🥺
There is a throwaway line in that episode about Aziraphale learning to dance in a discreet gentleman's club in the late 1880s. .... That would be The Hundred Guineas Club in Portland Place, London, a famous gay club, which is why he is dancing in a room full of men. 😅 Dark horse that angel.
Crowley did the husband apology: "I'm sorry, whatever I did, I apologize, get in the car." When that didn't work, he did the even wronger wrong thing by calling Aziraphale "stupid" (even though he called him "clever" too); you could see Aziraphale's face set when Crowley did that.
@@Nikki-oe7gr I mean, the both of them are completely incompetent idiots, let's be real. They share one braincell between them, and most of the time the braincell is in limbo not being used by anyone.
@@Nikki-oe7gr You have to know when to be accurate and when to be strategic. Aziraphale immediately sets his jaw when he's insulted by Crowley, even if it's part compliment. But, actually, the assessment is as true of Crowley, and I think it's good Aziraphale kept trying.
Communication problems continue to be a key thing for Crowley and Aziraphale. Crowley may have said the words “I’m sorry”, but did he actually address what the issues they were fighting about were? No, it was just a bandaid to get Aziraphale to come with him. They talk *at* each other, without ever actually getting to the core of their issues to see how to fix them, so they continue to be forever on different pages. This cycle continues every time they disagree, something to keep in mind as you continue, *especially* when you get to season two…
Crowley didn't have time to have a philosophical debate about core issues. Hastur said they were coming to get him. The fact that Crowley literally told Aziraphale that "the forces of Hell have figure it out that it was my fault" should've been enough to get Aziraphale off his high horse. But Aziraphale just had to be prideful and stubborn, only calling Crowley after the demons were already there.
Is this an audio book or a full-cast radio drama? There's also a previous radio drama and previous audio book (whichever this falls into) read by Martin Jarvis (he's pretty good too).
@@HuntingViolets The reading of the novel. The only downside is there is not nearly enough Crowley and Aziraphale in the book. The show really highlighted them as the main characters much more.
@@MsKimifer They should do a radio adaptation; although I liked the first one, I think some of the changes made for the TV adaptation would be helpful. (I love radio shows.)
with how many dramatic breakups crowley and aziraphale have in public(that we've actually seen), first the gazebo then front of his bookshop people are just numb to it now. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fun fact: The prophecy Anatema has about Newt arriving mentions "Robin's chariot" which is a really clever way to refer to Newt's car (Dick Turpin) as that type is called a reliable robin 😁 It's really fun to rewatch s1 and pay special attention to the prophecies they show us I think Zira's Fuck as he goes up to heaven is my favourite line of his, although the answer he gives to Shadwell about having the wrong shop is also excellent 🤣 I'm excited to see your reactions to the rest of the season and hopefully s2 😊
the wrong shop line is his funniest line to me. Though to be fair, the person he tempts and manipulates most often sometimes presents as a woman so it wasn't 100% preposterous...
I feel like the bandstand scene and Crowley apologising are quite key scenes. They show how differently they've both related to trauma. Aziraphale is still hanging on and I do think he is right, if Crowley had his way the world would end, but the two of them would be fine. Aziraphale loves humanity and art and culture and wants to save it. Where he is wrong is in believing the gaslighting he gets from the Angels and Heaven, even after they abuse him for being with a demon. That's where Crowley is right, but when he started calling The Great Plan bollocks, that stuff genuinely upset Aziraphale and you could hear the tears in his voice as he stormed off.
You have no idea how happy I am when you drop a new episode of GO. I absolutely love your reaction and commentary to this show. I’m like you, I just adore Crowley so much and he’s now asking Aziraphale twice to run off with him. I love Aziraphale too but he’s so frustrating. He still sees things in terms of black and white with no room for grey. I can’t wait to see your reaction to the next episode!
Michael Sheen is such a pretty man. It is weird to use the word pretty, but it is the best way to describe him. (I could also comment on Tennant being sexy, but that is like saying water is wet.)

honestly I was super surprised how NOT attracted I was to either of them here since s01e01.... which speaks loads for their acting abilities because both of them played at least one role/character before, which I was head over heels for (especially Michael as Lucien 😍😍😍😍)
Crowley literally says, "Hell has figured out it was my fault. I have to run. Lets go." And Aziraphale says no! I can't believe he said no to a scared, in-peril, Crowley. Regardless of why.
@@ChachiSays "Why" was because Aziraphale still wants to try to save the world and Crowley wants to run away--although I think Crowley would go into a depression if he really let the world die.

Hahahah, I absolutely LOVED the notion of Aziraphale calling the other angels "bitches." Like, I think I've read the book at least 20 times; it's one of my favorites, but that would have been a really funny improvement.
In some ways, but from episode one right up until the first actual profanity, you can see him pausing just as he would have said something he feels an angel shouldn't say and inserting a more benign phrase, which makes the "Fuck" as he is taken up to heaven that much funnier.
I didn't realize it last time I watched, bc it was before I got into Terry Pratchett's Discworld books, but there are some lines so clearly written by PTerry (GNU), like the 'Are you feeling lucky?' happens to be a running line/joke in his books! Oh btw, Terry Pratchett was the cowriter of the book, and he was an absolutely wonderful author. He's one person I genuinely wish I could have met, I really recommend his books (I don't recommend starting with the first books in the series chronilogically, look up the different themes and choose a sub series to start with) there's not as much gay rep and some have aged a big ehh but there's a lot of gender progressive stuff, and the humour is exactly like Good Omens
