Roy and Lillard both a hit a game winning catch and shoot 3 from the left side of the court to beat the Rockets? o_O
Julian Acabal that shit is crazy and it was a deep ball both of them
imagine if Roy is playing like this and with Lillard,Batum and Aldridge, it was like spurs.. championship contender
The Clutchness of Brandon Roy lives on in Damian Lillard.
Its crazy they were both the 6th picks...... 6 years apart. Roy would have been the next great SG after Kobe... he was better than wade imo.
@@dpolanco96 Woulda coulda shoulda, we're talking about what it was not what it could've been. He was not better than Wade fam.
Man Portland guards sure love killing the Rockets on near-half court three pointers!!!
im from portland bet if brandon roy was a sg and dame is at point guard 100% western finals atleast
@@firsty4874 and McCollum at 6th man or let brandon roy play SF because he is 6'6.
guys like brandon Roy and Derrick rose great potential but cursed by injuries they been working hard since age 5 to make their dream come true then have it taken away. hurts my heart
Ayo Jahhh rose still raw af.. and healthiest right now since 2011. given the right situation he can be an allstar again. I think his story isn't over yet
T-Mac wasnt robbed by injuries... abdul-Rahif for sho...penny for sho.
Roy was a true superstar. I thought he was going to be the next big star for the NBA. True talent and one of the best jumpers I've seen.
I cant believe Portland got LaMarcus Aldridge and B.Roy in the same draft! Only SGs on his level were Kobe and D.Wade..he was special!!
@@javonmartin9347 Whats crazier is that they got Greg Oden as 1st draft pick the following year. Imagine if all 3 were long term Portland players without injuries until Dame showed up. They would have won 2-3 championships by now.
@@bestofdbest934 They were 52-10 in the 62 game's they were able to play together thru their career's!!
Brandon Roy could have been the next big thing. But, injuries got the best of him. Sucks that we didn't get to see him develop even more.
Last shot is one of my favorite buzzer beaters of all time. Such a high degree of difficulty sprint away from the basket, catch and shoot. Nothing but net.
Rose and BRoy, 2 of the most recent Grant Hill like statuses
Nope, rose evolved his game so he can still be a high caliber player despite the injuries he had in the past.
He was sooooo good.... And my favorite player... I still play 2k11 just to still play as him.... Everyone in Portland still misses him...
One of the biggest “What if’s” in the history
That last one looks exactly like lillard's buzzer beater against the rockets
Almost the exact same, both came on the heels of a huge play by Houston that virtually sealed a win for them. Roy had .8 seconds, Lillard had .9. Horrible Houston defense prior to the inbound contributed to both, I still think I prefer the Roy version.
Miss you B-Roy.... One of the best SG!!!
its unfortunate that he had a very short career due to injuries other wise he would be the best SG in the league today…
It would've been amazing because he played this completely stiff game and Harden is slick and those contrasting styles would've been dope to see.
+Boss' Life On Roy only played 5 seasons and was wayyyy better then harden is. No one plays like Roy, goes his own speed. Kobe said Roy was the hardest player he ever had to guard.
+ItsZev Kobe said tmac was the hardest player he ever had to guard. Where did you get that from?
I was a huge Brandon Roy fan, I can only imagine how great he wud b rite now, he was on the verge of greatness, smooth, effortless, buzzer beaters, dunks, can shoot..I use to play wit him on NBA2K, lol......oh and by the way, #5 shouldve bin top 3 on here, he dunked the shit outta ol boy, lol
Eddie G BRoy one of the most underrated players ever and also on 2K. I named him BasedGod for how amazing he was on 2K. I’d score 80+ with him routinely. Best shot in 2K history 🤷🏽♂️
I don’t think many younger kids or people in general today realized how good Brandon Roy was and if it wasn’t for injures how good he could have been. Me being 23, I feel fortunate enough to remember when he came into the league back in 06. Dude could legit do it all and that’s not a joke. I believe if the injuries never derailed his career he would’ve at least delivered Portland one title. If someone super young who knows today’s NBA game really well and see’s this comment in 2022 or beyond and doesn’t know much about Brandon Roy except for a few throwback highlights on UA-cam. If there was a player to compare him too in today’s game……… I’d say a more skilled version of Devin Booker with better bounce.
Here because of Greg Oden
Roy- Buzzer beater vs Houston with .8 to go. Lillard- Buzzer beater vs Houston with .8 to go. What a coincidence.
Lillard had .9 but i was thinking the same thing. Basically the same shot too.
One of the biggest what-ifs in NBA history
Portland has to retire his jersey
Brandon Roy still my favorite 2 guard that never had a chance to hit his peak. He was already a superstar so young in his career and he was humble and a team guy. Beautiful to see him relishing in being a great HS coach and mentor. Simply a great all around guy.
Came here right after Lillard's shot. These two guys are so similar in so many ways.
this guy had so many game winners, one of the clutchest players ever, one season it seemed like every other game was a game winner or tying shot by roy
One of my all-time favorites.
His game reminds me of a more grounded Wade (referring to the young Flash) but with the shooting technicalities of Kobe.
This used to be my favorite player absolutely loved his game. Without injury we are talking about top greatest of all time
I remember when this guy used to be one of the stars in the NBA.
I will never forget the games i've seen him play ;( I miss you brandon roy!!!
Damn, it's a shame he couldn't stay healthy. He was one of my favorite players and imagine him with Damian Lilard and Lamarcus Aldridge.
Justin Sitjar I don't think they would have Liliard if Roy was still healthy :\
David Smith They wouldn't have been able to pick up Lilard in the draft if Roy was healthy
Erick T I assume you mean that they wouldn't have gotten the sixth pick because with Roy their record would be far too high to be in the lottery, but you see, this is all funny because they traded with the Nets for the sixth pick in 2012. The actual trade was as follows, Blazers give: Gerald Wallace Nets give: Mehmet Okur, Shawne Williams, 2012 6th pick, 1st round. The Nets have to be pissed about that major screw up. Basically Gerald Wallace for Damian Lillard. Now, that would never happen, not in a million years.
David Smith Oh wow, I didn't know that. Pretty cool, thanks for letting me know.
Greg Oden and Jeff Teague got me here off the podcast show 😂
Happy Birthday to the natural. Portland will always have so much love and respect for B Roy, one of the greatest to wear a trailblazer jersey. I’m excited to see him join the organization down the road
You can't tell me that Lillard and Roy's game winners against Houston weren't extremely similar
It's crazy that both Roy and Lillard shot a game-winner three at the same spot, against the Rockets. What a great coincidence!
I remember that big comeback vs the Mavs, its moments like that why I love basketball.
Brandon Roy was a beast man, I remember. He was always on Sports Center.
Twitter brought me here today and I am not mad at all! Even tho #5 was #1 to me. As an old rockets fan I don't remember him killing us like this wow.
Damn how many game winners does he have against Houston alone
The stepback vs Houston in this video was the same game as his 3 pointer vs them. Yao got an and 1 then Roy came back and hit the big shot again.
i was a yao ming fan. roy for me is both love and hate. such a talented player but damn he destroyed the rockets a lot. he was a nightmare to rockets.
People forget just how good of a player B-Roy was!! Injuries robbed him, man smh. Add him to the list with McGrady, GHill, and Penny of "What could have been"..
So many what ifs with BR. Great player
Brandon Roy was my fave Blazer of all time. I remember taking the max to this game and the magic in the air before and after this game was insane!!!! The max's were PACKED for it because he made Portland so excited!
What if... Damian, Roy, Aldridge and a healthy Odon. Damn!
Add Wesley Matthews to that roster as well. Would have been ill as fuck.
if roy was still with Portland , Lilard would have landed somewhere else , so yeah not realy ...
Brandon Roy got 40.5 inch max vert coming into the league listed at 6'6(DraftExpress)
Imagine if his talent had never faced those awful injury........
This hard working dude had superstar or even MVP candidate potential.
He was top 3 SG behind KOBE and D-WADE.
He already got heart and game too. Simply my favourite player!!
and this is my 'Couldhaves' team
C-Greg Oden (raw giant if healthy)
PF-STATS (if healthy)
SF-T-MAC (potentially top 10 all-time greats)
SG-B-ROY (w/ that 40.5)
PG-AI (if he PRACTICE? lol).
Rose is the what if PG, and I'm putting Grant Hill over T-Mac because T-Mac had more good years. Also, what did you mean by "Stats"?
Kloudyxhmww ai missed one practice because his friend got murdered the night before.. his best friend got dumped and he did that interview drunk as shit which the organization shouldnt have let happen. They knew his circumstances you dont let your player walk into that.
He was unreal. Those were fun times watching Roy. I went to those Dallas playoff games. The Garden was on fire.
Man this guy was a future hall of famer for sure!
Crazy (That Last Highlight)Damian Lillard hit that same game winner against Houston in the exact same spot and play.
I'm glad they finally added this man in 2K19 🔥
One of my favorite players of all time. He was so fun to watch.
Thank you UA-cam for blessing me with this recommendation in 2020. I needed that. BRoy was that guy. #Quarantine
god the dunks he was pulling off when he was healthy
so sad to see a great player go down to bad knees. I was at the game for that last buzzer beater and it was absolute pandemonium in the stands. the dude was out of his mind and nobody could dissect a defense like brandon roy
I miss this guy... So much potential
Roy was so clutch. In the last five minutes of a game it was like he couldn't miss. Underrated handles, could blow by guys and go straight to the rack. A midrange game almost on par with Kobe and Wade, and a better 3pt shooter than either of them. Crazy how Lillard's game is so much like Roy's, and another underrated superstar for Portland who is probably top 3 at his position. Both of them so clutch. Man Roy is only just NOW 36 years old, imagine if those dudes had like 5-8 years of overlap in their careers along with Aldridge. They'd be championship contenders the entire 2010's. Crazy.
he was a monster in the clutch
that last game winner looked like damian lillard game winner againts rockets
Goosebumps man! Fun times. Beast mode.
The dunk and this last 3 pointer were surreal!
3:10 it's funny how Lilliard did this same exact thing in the playoffs this year
Quamain Gibbs Only difference was Roy had .8 seconds to it and Lillard had .9 seconds do it
Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Greg Oden, Nicolas Batum damnnnn the trailblazers almost had a perennial playoff team a potential championship contending team.
He was such a great talent. I would've loved to see what he could truly become. And the dude was legitimately clutch, too!
before lillard n curry, there was crawford n roy
Jamal Murray of Roy
Still breaks my heart that BR couldn’t have the luxury of a long career. Truly one of the greats 💪
i respect anyone who hits game winners on the regular and this man has mine.
He had some serious range sheesh
that last shot and Lillards shot were too similar.. hope my rockets bounce back next year lol
Your Rockets look great right now, down 1-0 in the Western Conference Finals to Curry and Golden State. Guys have had a strong year thus far
And when I saw this all I thought of was Lillards shot, crazy hoe similar they are. Dames one of my favorites :)
He served his yrs representing the Northwest. Would have loved to see him play against GSW. Would have been the best rivalry in basketball history.
man what a player, i hope he can return once again. i saw him play earlier dis season wid da wolves he still got it. breaks my heart seeing these clips, reminds me of penny hardaway an his injuries causing a setback in his career
Anybody came here after the Jeff Teague and Greg Odon clip ?
The announcer of #1 always gets to announce buzzer beaters
Brandon was so smooth.
2020 still love to see roy!
DAmn, i wish injuries never existed. HE actually reminded me of how good of a player mj was. definetyl not the same skill level and work ethic. but damn he was a good all around player
Damn yeo blazers really is cursed
First they give up MJ in the draft then get roy but he had kronic knee injury's and same with oden sht
Well thiss year they lookin good atleast
drexler is a hall of famer they lost to the bulls in the finals because jordan had pippen
Cali in the building, Ppl really sleep on #7 Brandon Roy.. He's tht GUY💯 Drink Up🍻
Long time Blazer fan, Roy was incredible and I had the opportunity to see him play. If he had healthy knees he would have been a super star. As much as I love Dame Roy was a more complete offensive player.
So he got the range before steph😂
The Rocket killer
Hi, I’m from 2021, as a teen back then, he’s one of my fav players of all time
I watched Brandon Roy growing up, and he definitely had better highlights throughout his career. This mix was an injustice.
What If...
Lillard
Roy
Batum
Aldridge
Oden
All healthy and in prime
Or instead of drafting Oden, picked Durant instead at the 3...use Batum to get a decent C...nasty...
mfalein
yes they would, they got Lillard because of a trade with the nets(6th pick in 2012 for Gerald Wallace)
or....what if greg oden stayed healthy? lol do you guys forget how good he was before his knees said fuck it?
so much potential😕
It's really depressing to think that if Roy never gotten hurt where his career would be today...Roy was just starting to take off as an elite all-star
I miss Brandon Roy. He was so awesome!
Your intelligence and insight overwhelm us all.
Lillard and Roy damn. If only possible.
Chris Paul Replace Oden with Durant, put Lopez at Center, Batum and Matthews off the bench...Best team ever.
if Roy was still healthy the blazers would havent gotton lillard , they would have been to good to pick top 15
***** They actually would have still gotten Lillard most likely. The 6th pick to get Lillard was from a trade to the Nets. Portland traded Gerald Wallce for the first rounder from the nets, which turned into the 6th pick.
Brandon roy was such an amazing player to watch.
B Roy was a Machine on the court.. VERY complete game
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRANDON
He coulda been next kobe t
Imagine if the blazers had a healthy B. Roy with the squad they have now, easily make the conference finals and might beat OKC
The last shot by Brandon Roy made me think about the Damian Lillard's shot against the Rockets in last year Game 7 of the Playoffs.
If the Blazers picked Durant then Roy didn't get injured:
Lillard, Roy, Durant, Aldridge and anyone who can protect the rim
Andy, Jr. Bucton and yes I know he doesn't play for them anymore, but they would have never let him go if they had that starting 5
think about it, if Brandon Roy didn't get injured this will be the starting lineup
1. lillard
2. c.j
3. Brandon
4. Lamarcus (if he stayed in Portland)
5.Pummlee
The blazers had the brooklyn nets pick in the 2012 draft which happen to be lillard so having brandon roy wouldnt change a thing
Damn, just thinking what he could've been right now. Probably have a ring and an MVP. The way his career was just taken in one injury made me feel like anything can happen in the nba. It ain't just about making it that's tough, you have to make sure you stay there
I’m a solid Laker fan but i really miss this dude. He has a very special talent to be one of the greats.
the blazers would if had BRANDON ROY..LILLARD...JAMAL CRAWFORD..LAMARCUS AND ODEN...BEAST...
If Roy & Oden were healthy & never injured they would've never got Lillard. Because with those two healthy they were a playoff team.
Lewie Ville And with Batum as well they would've had a big 3 and a half. Big 4 some nights.
I think he actually peeked as far as his abilities. He was a 4 year college player and was entering his prime before playing for the Wolves. Dude could do everything offensively. It's a shame, but everyone has a different path in life.
That splash is 🔥. No heel hit and went home out of bounds. 🤣🤣🤣
I remember when I signed up for that I'm a b-roy fan thing for the blazers a few years ago, fav player right behind Kobe.
So many misfortunes for Portland. Walton getting injuried and never being the same again after leading the Blazers to their lone title, Sam Bowie picked over Jordan, Sabonis not allowed by the Soviet Union to join the Blazers in his athletic prime, Oden picked over KD, the B-Roy injury and now 4/5 of their starting 5 just left. Man...
They're probably one of the most unluckiest sports teams in recent history
Greg oden was good doe but he just ended up like Brandon Roy too
Mark Jones So was Sam Bowie, but he was also injury-prone, and to add insult to injury (no pun intended), the next guys picked after them both ended up as league MVPs.
At least they still have a team. Roy should have been playing for the sonics.
+jan279 It's been rough growing up as a basketball fan in Portland, but true fans never jump ship. Go Blazers!
