Martin Spud Actually, Greg was 15 when he wrote 'Slaves', 'Politics' and 'World War lll'. The other three songs were written by Brett, who was 17 at the time. It still amazing tho
I remember when this ep came out I first heard it on Timmy Sommers show in NYC. Went out and bought the ep. Every time the first song ends I still hear his voice shouting "That was Bad Religion... with.... Bad Religion"
I seen them so many times I couldn't even say . They were on top of there game during this era. Not too many groups could do it and they had it for a few yrs. The first two recordings are great south bay punk thanks
The first Bad Religion I ever heard was this EP... except it was the 1984 12 inch remixed version. That was the only version I heard for many years, until they put out that '81 to '85 CD. These songs sounded different on it, and I had no idea why. I had no idea the original 7 inch and the 12 inch had different mixes. Possibly just my own personal bias, but IMO the 12 inch version sounded better. And it really chaps my hind that I can't hear it anywhere. :::Edited Feb 2021- Someone finally posted it recently! It's called 'The Original Bad Religion (12" repress and remix)'
Me too but east coast. Boston. With the greats love ke the fish. Jerry's kids. The freeze. Slapshot. Ssd etc etc. What a time! Wow! This generation has no idea what went down! Intense and scary to say the least
The only thing you're missing is "The Original Bad Religion" 12" from 1984, it's basically a remix of this ep, and pretty hard to find, it's never been put on cd. It's on youtube now, you should add it to your channel before it disappears again.
What are the 4 for you? I'm gonna guess 1) Into the Unknown, 2) No Substance, 3) New America, 4) Dissent of Man. Was I close? there are my personal least favorites.
Raw punk rock..... This EP is phenomenal.

Unbelievable.
@@ChaosPlayerTF So Greg at my age was writing legendary songs. Self esteem-1000
No sheet, thats pretty dam good!!!
so ahead of their time and still they don't get the respect for being a part of the first wave of hardcore punk, many see them as a 90s punk band.

There’s 5 pop retards now.

I waiting the 217th like
Very much a Ramons vibe comin from this.
The ramones were direct influencers so that kinda makes sense.
damn it, so good at 1st, too bad...
Almost pissed myself.
yesireebob
the vandals' "legend of pat brown" will make you piss yourself while you're bouncing off the walls.
I don't know what everyone is on about. Bad Religion made 16 albums after this and only 4 are shitty.
What are the 4 for you? I'm gonna guess 1) Into the Unknown, 2) No Substance, 3) New America, 4) Dissent of Man. Was I close? there are my personal least favorites.
GrayWoIf you hit the nail on the head. But even Dissent of Man has some jams on it.
No Substance is a good album
17th is in a month
420th like 😎
Boombox forever back then.
Welcome to Epitaph. May I help you?

sensory overload in 1981...lol...quite prescient i would say
probably the best indy punk to come out of the states an they just went from strength to strength with there following lps
indy punk? it's just punk, indy branched from punk,
but what was punk in the states isn't what im used to ua-cam.com/video/a-UXuYLKI6Q/v-deo.html thats crass btw but punk was born here in the uk :)))
@@Soundeagle3456 back in the day before indie was a genre it meant independent labels.
Yeash, it’s punk for children.
