Aside from drawing, another awesome talent of yours that I have noticed is that how well you speak. When I watch your videos, although I'm not an English speaker, I understand every word of what you are saying. Aside from that, you also make everything seem so easy, which encourages my to try it! (But then my work turns out to be a disaster but of course that's not your fault)
What I've learned about art is that you dont have to rush it... esp. If you're a beginner. And if every artist around ur age is slightly faster than you when you make an artwork then dont overthink or compare yourself to them... everyone has their own pace... and that really shows that making art really takes its time :3 And thats why im happy that Kirsty encourages her followers/viewers to take their time and doesnt discourage them :3
I think rushing comes from not knowing what you're doing. When I understand how to create certain details I can spend hours doing it, but when I have no idea how it comes together I just rush through it. I used to hate myself for "rushing through it" and felt guilty about it, but it's only natural when you begin to understand the process.
I was actually just looking for a great hair tutorial when I got the notification to this video!!! This is exactly what I needed! Thank you for this awesome video.
*First time to comment and seldom comments lol* I just want to thank you Kirsty for your informative videos :) i really love your voice and your British accent and the way you explain and teach your viewers. You’re a talented woman too. I hope someday i could make my own realistic works too in different mediums.. i downloaded most of your videos and i replay it every time i got an art block and every time i practice and sometimes before i sleep. I look forward for more of your interesting videos :) thank you so much for your tutorials that greatly help every beginner like me :)
I haven’t been able to find a good hair tutorial that works for me until now, this is such a good tutorial and has helped me to make my hair look more realistic, thank you!!!
Nice work, I have pretty much worked out most of what is in this myself through trial and error, but its good to know that others do the same, however I have never tried charcoal on hair, so that's a great tip
so helpful, ive been improving my 'portrait' drawing/painting skills and really pleased how much ive progressed past 3 days with a portrait of my aunty, but y'day spent on the hair (its got light perm ) and i love her face, but the hair doesnt look part of the picture, so i will have another go today, i was contemplating using a brush to smudge the pencil and then use a thin rubber to take out & highlight, but don't want to wreck the face/portrait !! eeek... thanks for your videos kirsty :)
Absolutely amazing art lesson as always 👍 Thank you kirsty , you make me inspired and more confidence to create more Artwork Next i want to learn more art tutorial about realism (portraits and animal) in colored pencils , graphite & charcoal , Watercolors 💖💖💖
Thank you for your tutorials Kirsty I am new to your channel but I just want to say you're a really big help because I'm practicing realism right now to get better and improve
Can you please put in your videos what Degree of pencils you are using. And thank you your videos are very useful for beginner and professional drawers
Excelente Gracias por explicar maestra. Me interesa aprender más pero no hay nada que comprar lápiz de borrador? Estoy en Villahermosa, mexico. 🤟🏻 soy sordo
I can't believe it that you actually use vellum board in your charcoal artworks. Like how!???? I mean, I remember I ONCE used it & came to realized how it suck so much. It won't stick in. Idk, I'm so amazed on how artist could use some medium that I think it's contradicting.
What about tight curly hair? I did a drawing not long ago of a singer that has big, fluffy curly hair and getting that hair to look right was pretty exhausting.
Great job kristy👌🏼😍I Love animal hair tutorials, & humans a lot (since a kid), so I Enjoyed this! Kristy I’d like to ask you🤞🏼- Can you Please do a tutorial for long black wavy/curly hair🙏🏼? I have long black hair, more wavy but curly(Hispanic) & No one has done this kind. Many Artists do Browns, or blondes colors & strait type of hair. Can you Help me? It’d be cool for Many ladies have this kind of hair. Thanks👍🏼

When I think of drawing I always think of you. People like you deserve to be reborn. You are a great talent❤
I have found that a clean fingernail file works great for shaping the Tombow Mono Zero Eraser. It is also safer for young artists.
