I can not find words for this wonderful duo.
Listening to this brought memories flooding back in of 2004 when my son was deployed to Iraq. I would spot stars, planets or comets and tell him where to look in the sky. He would then search the sky and report back if he saw them. It was a way for us to stay connected. He died there that November, so those memories are very precious. Thanks for doing this piece and sharing with us.

Dear Mat and Savanna,
I am a physician battling CoVid -19 everyday with my patients on an Indian Reservation in Arizona and there are days when I return after work to home and cry. Just hearing this song was wonderful. I live in the Southwest and have not seen my children or grandchildren for nearly 7 months due to this pandemic. Your song reminds me to be grateful that we all are united under one sky and there is hope for all of us. I had to arrange for an 18 yr old child to call the hospital to arrange a video chat so he could communicate to his hospitalized mother with CoVid, the news that his father died suddenly last night at home from CoVid . This is what is so difficult. I prayer you both never stop signing because if lifts the spirits of all who love you.

We are drawn to Mat and Savanna because in this day and age it's rare to see a teenager and a Dad enjoying singing together and having so much pride in each other. This is the ideal we want to see and there is a yearning in all of us to see more of this instead of hearing about teenagers stuck on their cell phones and fathers who aren't even home enough.

This song takes on a whole new meaning for me. My sister just passed and I fell into despair until I found this song. I firmly believe that all of our loved ones are "somewhere out there" and even though we are far apart, we truly are wishing on that same bright star. Thank you for lifting my spirits and shining a light into this dark place in my heart.

When I married my husband, nearly 40 years ago, we moved to his hometown in Indiana and began to raise our family, over 900 miles away from mine! My Mom and I had always been close. So when this song came out, I remember being outside one night and looking at the full moon and singing it while thinking of her. It became our special song. She has passed on to be with Jesus now, but it still makes me think of her. Thank you for bringing back the memories!❤️

In 1987, I was engaged to a wonderful man who was finishing his master's degree in International business. His internship was in South America, and he was there for six months. THIS song was OUR song! Back then we only spoke once a week and wrote letters...... which seems unbelievable these days! Thank you for this wonderful performance!

It helps that they are BOTH interacting. It breaks that invisible wall between the 2 of them and we ALL can feel like we're enjoying the experience. It's not like she's looking at us exclusively and telling us to relay to him that she thought he did a good job. They are brilliant together!❤

I was put on Prozac (now known to be harmful to children under 18) and hospitalized. Every night, I would stare out the window and sing this song, imagining my best friend and crush singing the duet part with me. We wrote each other and loved to sing together at school, and the harmonies still make my heart soar with comfort and warmth. You two are blessed with wonderful blend and real giftedness. Thank you!

I’m a musician in South Florida in a semi-professional group, Espressivo, which is made up of county music educators. It gives us an outlet to perform after long days of teaching the arts. Mat and Savanna, I am writing this note from Melbourne Australia whilst we are in lockdown with Covid. You are both like angels with your harmonies and perhaps you will tour in Australia one day we hope. I am also a father of four beautiful children and proud of each and everyone of them. Our youngest sang at school but difficult now with university and work commitments. I know the importance of being grounded in life but would strongly recommend you liaise with a trusted christian contact who could advise you both in a musical direction. Our 2nd daughter who is 23 and works as a nurse in a Covid ward in Melbourne sang on stage with Kelly Clarkson when she was nine which we will never forget. Agree that Kelly is a super woman and so normal. I’m confident you can connect with some of your friends in Oz now as you have a following which is palpable. Lockdown really worked for your family no doubt. Keep safe and thanks for putting yourselves out there especially when we are often suspicious of randoms sending email notes into the abyss. My wife is working tonight in an ICU so important we have these stars in our lives. Trust the election in the US is worked out for the best and we will be keen to know outcome in Oz. Warmest wishes

There are those rare instances in life when we come across events, people, etc who gather us up and take us to as close to perfection as possible. Thank you for doing this for us. You remind me every time I hear you sing that sometimes the most genuine and unique talents can be found all around us without even having to leave our own street. You are those talents for us. So my wife sent me the Phantom of the Opera cover and said betcha you'll cry. I'm not a huge POTO fan and replied to her after watching that not a tear was shed! I was however extremely impressed at the voice talent and according to the comments the family cats ability to play the piano so well. I followed up with Let it be which was quick to get some moisture flowing in my eye sockets. Further impressed I stumbled on to this little gem that I happened to grow up with... you guys turned the faucets on!!! Needless to say the wife didn't win the battle but she won the war! I was really glad that you guys did this song. When my dad passed away this became my favorite song as I thought about him in heaven looking down upon me. There's nothing more beautiful than a father-daughter relationship.
I remember this song from the 80's! Back then when I was 15 Years old I DID begin to pray for my wife, who I didn't meet until I was 24 years old. We've been happily married now for 25 Years. This year, in September, I'll be 53 years old. We have 3 daughters and one son. So this song has so much meaning for me because I've lived in the reality of it. And what you do is incredibly uplifting! I don't follow, subscribe, or comment; except now I have followed you from the beginning, and will continue to do so for as long as you stay true to yourselves--to that which you know within yourselves to be good and right. You are incredible soloists; and as a duo, unparalleled. In part, it is your gifting; in part, your training; and in part, your heart. Thank you for sharing your heart(s) with us, particularly in these troubling times! One more thing, to the persons who criticize: "Disney-like" music is a style every bit as valid and complex as any other style of music. In fact, it can be much more difficult to sing a pure, well-modulated single note than it is to sing 15 different notes within the same span of time.
Oh my oh my oh my, this just hit me hard, I couldn’t wait to click and to watch / listen but what I didn’t expect was to sit here crying all the way through, the pureness of your voices, the harmony, oh gosh, the harmony, was just so moving to listen to, I ended up shutting my eyes and just feeling the emotions that you both brought out in me.
Savanna oh sweetie, you have such a beautiful voice, your lower and high registers are crystal clear and I love seeing how much you’ve grown and I’m so excited to see what’s in your future, thank you for sharing your voice with us and for treating each song in such a respectful manner, you really bring the joy and emotions out in every song.
Mat, oh boy, your voice is majestic! Again, I just shut my eyes and listen and then have to go back over and over so I can actually watch the video as well lol but your voice is rich in timbre and really tugs at the heartstrings, I just want you to keep singing, please don’t stop, I know I need more and I know we all need more lol
Together, you blend so well together, the harmony, singing together, just seamless and beautiful. The way you look at your daughter Mat, gets me every time, the love and pride you have for Savanna just touches all of our hearts
Can I just give a shout out to the pianist? That arrangement for this song particularly was fantastic! Absolutely perfect, brought both your voices together and then let you both soar separately and the solo piano parts were gorgeous. I’m a pianist myself and my fingers were just itching to play along but I’m most definitely not in their league lol - but what a joy to listen to, well done (clap clap)

In the’80’s when this beautiful song came out, a cousin of my co-worker, she and new husband had this played at their wedding.
Sadly, a year later, the cousin died in a car crash. Her heart-broken husband played this at her funeral. They were high school sweethearts.

Savanna, I think it's justice that you have become this famous despite your choir- and theatre teachers never giving you a role or allowing you to shine. They saw your incredible talent and were jealous of you and tried to keep you down and hidden, but you showed them and rose to the very top....good for you!!!....talent like yours is like a precious jewel and cannot be snuffed out by those mediocre teachers.
