The original-unreleased version. This version was recorded in Los Angeles. The Atari company released the Prague Symphony version (recorded in Prague). Slight phrasing and dynamic differences. 👀😳😄
The last game that my brother and I played co-op together before he passed away in 2018. When it reaches the 0:47 mark, it brings back all those memories. This soundtrack along with Morrowind, Arcanum and Diablo 2 have the same effect on me...
Neverwinter Nights (1 and 2) always had that mysterious and magical atmosphere of fantasy and epic adventures that fascinate me. And the game's soundtrack perfectly express this feeling. This is why i fell in love with forgotten realms and why i a proud to be a DM in this fabulous dungeons an dragons campaign setting. =)
This theme starts off with something I'd expect from KotOR then changes into something I'd expect from Heroes of Miight and Magic, then keeps switching between the two and I love it.
Question is, how big % of this is because we got older, and what is the % of games just being different/worse. Look at pathfinder etc. these are "new" games from genre, but they do not feel the same.
I always feel the urge to linger in the main menu just listen this part. I miss the old times. we will never get a big D&D title again. I really want to hope, but there are absolutely no clues of it's return. That's what makes ME cry. Even the brightest stars fade to be never seen in the skies again.
For an entire series of FR games that have existed, it took this long for the soundtrack to really capture the real adventuring and dungeoneering essence of D&D. It actually sounds very inviting and invigorating! The other themes I've heard so far (particularly the one from MotB), while beautiful and appropriate in their own right, don't particularly invigorate - rather, they kind of tie giant stone slabs on your shoulders if you know what I mean. Either way, my playlist has become larger!
Sooo much respect, especially like how the melody is interleaved with the fast 16th notes of the orchestra in the first meters. And the orchestration and melody are excellent and memorable! Simply masterpiece...cudos to Paul Romero for this.
@giantrobots1122 Agree with this. It's a breeze, especially when you are able to make a Greatsword with +6d6 fire damage. The scene with Myrkul though is stunning in its awesomeness.
@sparkatus I dunno, I actually had a great time fooling around on the Wildmark or what it was called, the running map. Have fond memories, despite the lack of depth. Many add-on adventures in the old DOS-system ADD games were shallow too, still fun. :.)
@libreqc I highly suggest you try Mask of the Betrayer. I exaggerated with the story and character comment though, its still great. The real shine comes from the dialogue, its VERY well written. The gameplay itself is IMHO on the easy side, what with all the epic level feats and all, but this is one case where the story and dialogue make up for EVERYTHING.
guys please someone answer me...i m a big fan of nwn...it;s my favorite pc game....i knew it stopped at nwn 2 : mask of betrayer....have new nwn espansions come out since then ?? someone answer me...
@giantrobots1122 well i've neverplayed Motb (i didn't finish the original campaign because it sucks, i means, the dialogues are weak and the plot to), i prefer SoZ because obsidian didn't destroy the game with un-original npc and plot line btw: sorry for my bad english
@libreqc Woah, wtf ? If you had said MotB, I would've agreed, but SoZ ? No Sir, obisidian dropped the ball on that one. MotB had infinitely better characters (second only to planescape torment IMHO) and story.
The perfect theme for sitting on the character creation screen for an hour. :D
Yep sitting for 4 hours, finally deciding, and then realizing maybe I wanted to play a Mage instead?
One hour? those are rookie numbers!

Wait what? Where is this??

Sorry Etian, save this memories with all your strength, he lives in you and in this moments, are yours forever
uff
Such memories are treasure in your heart.

The Shadow King is absorbing the pillars energy. We must destroy them! Quickly!
So it was composed by Paul Romero. Now I now why it is so awesome

RIP because we will never get those ultimate d&d experience games anymore

Baldurs Gate 3 might deliver, we shall see
@@Healthy_Kawk Well I played kingmaker recently and it's pretty solid
@@hericofelix7144 I reinstalled it yesterday to check it out again. Maybe it will feel better now.
Basically, BG3 just came out tho
Such a great soundtrack! (Currently replaying the NWN2 series)
My favorite part is between 0:47 and 01:44
it's just amazing!
Yeah, when I hear 0:47 I feel the urge to cry O_o

@@BIGESTblade here to say big D&D title is out just now. Time is a bitch!
I also love this part
@@BIGESTblade Baldur's Gate III is here!
For me 0:47 to 1:44 is pretty much the official Neverwinter Nights theme.
2:18 to the end was really beautiful.
Epic and amazing part 0:46-1:42. I like to listen it very much! The game is cool!
Damn I love this music.
Wish some1 made a proper NWN3 with soundtrack like this, NWN2 is a beautiful game.
The perfect song for the intronisation of a king.
I can see the peoples kneeling as the king march toward his throne.
this song has majesty in it
Damn, this was posted 10 years ago... still play the game from time to time and have fun with builds

NWN2 Theme: "This is pretty good, but let's go deeper!"
MoTB Theme: "This is amazing! I wonder if we can go even deeper?"
SoZ Theme: "FUCK GO BACK"
A work of art!
Thank you Paul.
This music of my child time...Fighter Orc...Halfling rouge..
Loved that this expansion felt like a whole new game.
Naw, easily my favorite expansion of the series.
nostalgia...
I love the music of Storm of Zehir and the whole expansion so much! If only the Chulth section was as long as Samarach/Sword Coast. :(
SoZ, Mask of the Betrayer, and Mysteries of Westgate were all great expansions. I've played them more than the original campaign.
Charming sound.
wow. 1:03 ... just wow.
that subtle flute still hits me like a truck
@giantrobots1122

What a great piece of music...
i cant describe the epicness from 0:47 to 1:44 !!!111oneone
@Nurgha Goosebumps as I type, no fooling. Trembling horns, wonderful strings. Very emotional with the horn at 1:20. *sniff*
much better than the original NWN2 Main Theme
best menu theme
epic, really wonderful, one of best in crpg
Give us MotB-Theme back, you fiendish Addon!
Why does this remind me of Heroes Of Might and Magic
I think heroes of might and magic 4 had a very similar beginning on the main theme as this one
Same composer
One of the best game soundtracks, and for an expansion nonetheless!

Haven't played this one yet idk i was crushed at the end of the OC currently playing MoTB. ;(
Shadows of Zehir
There's also "Mysteries of Westgate" is an adventure pack. Dunno where to get that one :( Any ideas?
Greetings from Argentina.
The third actually, forth if you count Mysteries of Westgate (:
from 1:00 and on is much better than the first minute of the theme song,, they should have remixed it a little before releasing the expansion
I agree 100% ;D
Sadly, Storm is the one NWN Game I never managed to warm up to. Too sandboxy, I think.
But they clearly outdid themselves with this title music.
@giantrobots1122
well, i don't think it will ever be comparable to BG2, but i will try when i have time
guys please someone answer me...i m a big fan of nwn...it;s my favorite pc game....i knew it stopped at nwn 2 : mask of betrayer....have new nwn espansions come out since then ?? someone answer me...
ahy una que suena cuando abres el launcher cual es? D;
@dwarsen and i would say both games are good as hell and comparing makes no sense ;)
There some star gate over 0.20-024
@libreqc Gameplay wise ? No. Character and story wise, it blows all of bioware's works out of the water.
Not Jeremy Soule enough :C
@kleinerdackel I can accept this. ;)

i think that i will make people angry by saying that soz is the only good nwn... but i still say it
@libreqc Woah, wtf ? If you had said MotB, I would've agreed, but SoZ ? No Sir, obisidian dropped the ball on that one. MotB had infinitely better characters (second only to planescape torment IMHO) and story.
Are you sure, 'cause it says "Adventure Pack" on the box. And is not that good. Still is neverwinter nights so yeah, awesome.
Personally that expansion was way too short to be enjoyable.
Someone should make updated versions of the original NWN expansions using NWN2's engine.

@giantrobots1122
sorry but i really doubt it, for me, BG 2 is the best RPG ever invented and it cannot be beated
@flaypl Baldur's Gate 2 is a lot better than Planescape: Torment, sorry.
I always disliked the fact that this theme replaces the main campaign's theme when you install the expansion.
This composer watches and listens to too much Harry Potter.
