Good explanation. It did clear things up for me. I just found out that what I already believe, is the Anglican Church's position! :) Another good reason to be Anglican. Thanks.
I just found your channel! Amazing! I am also a Molinist I was really happy to see you are one! Because of many of the same reasons you present in other places, I am also considering the possibility of becoming anglican (currently non denominational protestant). I will visit the UK London soon and would really love to have a recommendation for a good anglican church there to visit... Because most of them seem either very liberal or almost like your regular baptist church...
I'm so glad I watched this video. I'm a Molinist who is new to the Anglican tradition. I do have one question. Do you believe that a Christian can forfeit his salvation? I'm a Molinist but I disagree with most Molinists I've read from on the idea that one cannot lose salvation.
@@barelyprotestant5365 Interesting. But I thought that Calvinism teaches that a Christian cannot forfeit salvation, since the "perseverance of the saints" is one of the 5 points of Calvinism. So do the 5 points of Calvinism contradict what Calvin himself taught?
@@michaeljennings8221 the "five points of Calvinism" don't actually come from Calvin. Calvin, like St Augustine, made a distinction between the elect and those regenerate. There are people who are truly regenerate, who will not persevere to the end.
Can an Arminian (an actual Arminian not just a non-Calvinist) hold to the Articles, the Prayer Book, and the Homilies? I'm an Arminian and I'm very drawn to Anglicanism but I can't accept absolute predestination in a "Calvinist" sense. Thanks!
@@koyo3376 whoever told you that is wrong. It might be the case that they have an understanding of Arminianism that is more akin to Baptists and their pelagian leanings.
I know its not all about me, but this video does put me at ease. Because the Calvinistic view is just too severe.
Same! As one who is exploring Anglicanism, I was afraid that the only Anglican view is Calvinism.

Hello Father, excellent video! Would you say that the Tractarians also championed Molinism? What was their tendency regarding soteriology?
I'm not aware of them specifically championing it.

Definitely. Even Calvin believes that Christians could forfeit their salvation.

@@barelyprotestant5365 haha so apparently I agree more with Calvin than Calvinism. In my humble opinion Hebrews 6 is clear enough.
Can we hold a molinistic view while being an Anglican or do Anglican has a specific view on Divine foreknowledge?
I am a Molinist. I think Molinism is the best, most appropriate view for Anglicanism; it fits best with our Formularies (our Confessional standards).
@@barelyprotestant5365 awesome! Thanks for the response. Any plan on making video regarding justification?
@@DillonJan it's not any time soon; if I do, I want to do it with a friend of mine from seminary.
Are you still a molinist?
@@barelyprotestant5365 How do you feel about Classical Arminianism + Molinism?
You could have called me before you recorded this.
Maybe I should have!

As far as I know, yes. I would be closer to Arminianism (classically understood) than I would be to Calvinism (again, classically understood).
@@barelyprotestant5365 Thank you for the reply. I have been told that there is no room for Arminians in the confessional Anglican tent.

@@barelyprotestant5365 I'm not sure. Thanks for the reply, Father James and God bless you.
This is not the reformed Anglican view.
Where do I contradict the Articles, the Prayer Book, or the Homilies?
