These really are awesome screws, people would never think to use these, they're to under rated
As a bricklayer screwing in wall ties to existing walls etc I use nothing else but these screw in their 50mm format mainly. Brilliant invention and a lot better than plastic plugs. Just drill your hole 1mm smaller than the screw size and they go in with no effort if using a cordless drill.
Do u use wall plugs for 120mm screws
@@FM-js6cq these screws do not require plastic plugs, the thread on the screw cuts its way into the stone, brickwork etc. Just make sure you drill the hole the correct size for a tight fit. they are brilliant screws and all I use these days
1mm smaller than the outer thread or the inner shaft? I bought some lose and cannot find this dimension anywhere. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could respond in the next half an hour 😂
@Ginga Ninja haha I went with half a mill smaller than the shaft.
They are ideal for fixing studwork to uneven walls. I've been using them for years. Worked on a barn conversion in The Peak District drilling into very uneven, hard limestone. They are easily adjustable, screwing back and forth until the lines are plumb with adjacent studs. Problem is I keep losing my torx driver bits.
loafer sheffield by, I want to fix studs to floor an wall. Lot of people say jus drill a 6mm pilot whole but others say drill a whole deeper than length of screw otherwise it w/o t screw in. So if I use a 80mm screw will I need to drill a 90mm whole
Can't believe he doesn't talk about the drill bit size!
Why im in the comments 😁
It’s because you don’t need to drill a hole first. The screw does that
Shows you what you know. You 100% do. The teeth do the gripping!/cutting but the body will NOT self bore. A correctly sized masonry drill/hole is req
Was it just me that was hoping he'd say "Yorkshire Tea, Like Tea Used to be" at the end?
Great video, explains just what we need 😀😀 Thank you!
Brilliant screws....
Zinc coated ones suitable for outdoors specifically for mounting an outdoor tap?
Are these any good for fixing wall cabinets?
could show them being used
A bit like watching a car test video where they don't even turn the key.
Sometimes you have to pre drill the hole with a 5.5mm sds bit depending on the application
What about fixing TV brackets to dot and dab walls
With new electrical regulation with plastic plugs a no no at fire exits these will tick the box. Only issue you may have is with older crumblier walls.
Whats the tx size??😅
But you dont mention what diameter masoinry drill you need for eg 7.7mm screws!! My local Screwfix store advised 5mm so I bought a drill but I think it needs nearer 6mm.
I have been using this kind of thing for years now and I find if it a 7.7 use a 6mm or 6.5 if it’s an 8 use a 7mm or 7.5 and so on and so on . I hope this helps. A friend
Is this the same guy that does the Scunthorpe British steel induction lol
They are a good screw like.. but they should of showed them in action ha
larger package comes with a drill bit.
Where has this guy gone.. Enjoyed the adds, learning about tool ranges with his dramatisation, the new lot suck and make me skip asap.
Must be pretty crap seeing as they don’t actually show them being screwed in - don’t trust this AT ALL.
