Love that. iPhones are great for quick snaps, and they are capable... but nothing will ever stop me from using a proper camera. There is no comparison to the feel, the connection between camera and person, the power that a proper camera brings to the table.
It really depends on the type of photos you're going for. When it just comes to documenting stuff the iphone is best. When you want to be very intentional about your photography then use a camera. The Leica q3 43 would be a dream for me if the aperture was 1.4.

Love the vibe! iPhone pictures are good and let’s be honest, it’s a phone. Leica took amazing shots and the portraits were so natural! For everyday social media etc the iPhone is great, but for professional work, Leica wins!
Next Q3 43mm vs ZF with 40mm. I’m using my Zf as a complement to my M11, and with this 40mm lens, I’m curious to compare. Although, it’s certain that there’s little room to crop with the Nikon.
Thanks for the video. It simply goes back to the old adage; it’s not the camera, it’s the photographer that makes the image. It doesn’t matter what camera you use, you still make really great images.
It would be so nice to have the "2x zoom" back, like the iPhone 12 and Galaxy S10, but with the same quality level of the current main flagship cameras. 52mm was a bit narrow, but much better focal length than 24mm and 77mm we get now. And since the main camera went from 26mm to 24mm, we'd probably get 48mm, which would be perfect!
Pleasure as always ❤️ They should make the iPhone thicker for better battery & cooling. iThings, diminishing returns, it’s just vanity & shareholders at this point.
To be Honest, I disabled the Camera Control first thing I got the Phone 16 Pro Max. Well, at least the function of it starting the Camera App. I think nobody will deny, It's a gimmick, all things considered. Also: At around 90°F, there is no chance for any iPhone to not overheat, if you just keep shooting photos on it, let alone recording videos. And you even made it easy on yourself by shooting just JPEG. Imagine shooting RAW / ProRAW! With the extrensive stress of the storage on top, it would overheat even faster. The heat issues while doing an extrensive photoshoot are here to stay, as the iPhone had them for years now. No surprises here. Still, engaging video.
iPhone vs Leicaa was cool to see BUT it would have been interesting to see a comparison between Leica vs Xiaomi 14 Ultra as the phone has Leica optics and colour processing. Would love to hear your thoughts on that camera
That was hilarious… in a good way… the sort of content camera nerds need….enjoy the fact you can put up my everyday camera against my dream camera and keep a straight face … entertained
Bringing the iPhone to this shoot was like bringing a 2009 BMW 320i to a Pebble Beach Luxury Car and Yacht show, hehe... The LEICA and Hasselblad are dream cameras to many, and take truly breath taking photos! In the right hands of course. You took some amazing publish ready photos with all the cameras including the iPhone in this video. Very impressive work from yourself and the model. The fact you can get such amazing results from an iPhone, is seriously inspiring. I'll never forget the quote: "The best camera you have, Is the one you have with you" - I do believe the images you shot today really back that quote up. Great video. Would love to see more iPhone photography content in the future. ✌
If you did a Q3 43 vs a7CR using 40mm f/2.5 G or Batis 40mm f/2 and showed blind A vs B photos would people even know the difference outside of some shots shooting wide open if using the G lens? Same sensor cameras and slight difference on the focal length. The Sony with the 40mm f/2.5 G actually might be smaller overall since the lens wouldn't stick out as much.
@@Rim00909E partially agree. You guys are forgetting the Q3 43 has a very unique lens. So while sensors are all pretty solid these days, lens are the paint.
@@cammackey yes apo has certain characteristics and they are real but we've seen countless times when there are blind A and B comparisons of gear it's not always as straight forward as you think when you blindly do the tests and let the public decide. perfect example is even the FX6 vs komodo X video you did. they were completely different sensors of full frame vs super 35 and different codec/bit depth(10bit vs 16 bit) and yet the end result was lots of mixed responses even though on paper everyone would say the Komodo X would smoke it
It would be interesting to see. I know all the 28mm Q3 videos that other channels show they cameras can be matched the same in RAW. This is APO so extra difference there but I am sure we will get some videos in the next year comparing this. That said shooting the Leica also about some of the intangible benefits of the experience of it for some(also leaf shutter lens if you use that). Though I guess point is if you don't have $7,000 a blind test shows how close you can replicate this for a fraction of the cost with a similar size body.
Great job… as usual ! Don’t understand, are the Lightroom Film Presets for working on pictures or on videos ? I just bought your pack but can not import the preset in my Lightroom Mobile
Have you tried any of those iPhone camera grip thingys? It won't fit easily in a pocket, but could give the iPhone the ergonomics it's missing compared to a "real" camera. I've been looking for a smaller camera, but maybe kitting out an iPhone makes more sense. And for those of us lowly peasants who don't do photoshoots, the overheating issue shouldn't be a concern. Great video, insights, style, etc! I doubt it'll be very much longer before UA-cam sends you one of their sought after plaques!
I have a 15 pro and since upgrading the OS to 18, it's been mighty slow and the camera has been the most notably slow and even sometimes won't even load
Has the screen dimming issue when using Lightroom, especially masking, been remedied with the 16 Pro Max? It seems to be ok on the M4 iPad pro now, but it makes it impossible to do edits on the fly with the iPhone.
Hi, about a month ago I purchased your presets, tried them in combination with my sony a7c, but I'm probably doing something wrong or I didn't fully understand the principle, the type of processed raw files using your presets is far from the kind that you have in the examples, apparently there are some other subtleties of adjustment shades of color that I didn't understand )
@@cammackey You probably thought about the video, it's my fault, I didn't specify that we are talking about photography, but I shoot in a standard profile in raw, followed by processing in Lightroom using your presets. some of them gave a poisonous green color to the greenery in the nature shots, which I corrected and removed the saturation of the green color separately. the rest of the colors did not fall out of the overall picture, in my opinion, but a general correction of contrast, light and shadow was required.. Let's be real an instant here, the fact that a 1/2in sensor can punch its weight against dedicated camera is insane. I think we fail to realize that we have incredible little machines in our pocket. Well, probably no changes compared to my iPhone 15 Pro. I dig the new look profile, but of course they locked that. I mean, they gotta sell the 16 in some way. I'm flabbergasted by the dynamic range of the Hasselblad, those medium format sensors are insane. But this APO lens, goddamn. I'm still debating whether I invest in a A7R5 or a Q3, to be honest.
I think at some point iphones are going to likely need some kind of fan cooling system to keep these beasts cool. Kinda feels like the same situation that was happeneing with the R5's when they came out. The more they pack in, the hotter they get. Granted it was a reasonably hot day. But overheating when shooting is no go. Still results are pretty damned good honestly.
For me the biggest problem with iPhone photos is just the crazy over-sharpening it does, even on the raw files. My 15 Pro can take some really nice photos but I have to dial the sharpening back to basically zero in Lightroom.
