OMG...Im a 62 year old man in Indiana.Comics have been part of my life always since I was 3 or 4 years old (1962 - 1978) My collection contained 20,000 books from that time period.I became more interested in girls than my comics and sold my collection in 1979...HORRORS...what was I thinking? 🤣🤣 But in the late 80s I again collected but could not possibly replace all the books I had as a kid.In 1993 I decided to open a comic shop with a partner which lasted 3 years.Video games dominated everything and the money became thin and the interest in comics began dying for me.But now watching your videos ..I am again thinking to collect ..but only 1979 and older or Key 1st appearances. And ASM..will be priority in the CGC format. Thanks guys
So EC is a publisher of comics. Those golden age horror comics were from other publishers. The genre is known as PCH pre-code horror. Just a heads up, but love that you guys got this collection! Let me know if any are for sale or trade.
The ASM collection alone should've cost you a minimum of $2k. I'm not going to ask what you paid for it. However, I will say that as long as the seller thought he was being offered a fair price, then it was a win/win for the both of you. Couldn't have happened to a nicer couple. Congrats on the great pick up Angelo!
hello congratulations on the cool estate sale comic purchases. think you did good on the purchase. I was wondering do you have a online store? I would like to check out your books for sale if you have one.
This is epic. I feel like a sequel to this haul would be sick because damn- that’s not the type of collection that pops up all the time. Wow, with that collection CGC’d...imagine. Those horror books are so cool!
Adventures into terror #42 is actually the first issue it was carried over from a series called the Joker from 1950. Strange Tales 135 is first SHIELD not first nick fury but when Nick Fury joins the series.
It's kind of a strange thing to see younger key collectors react to the books that predate the popular cape keys. Those Atlas horror are in fantastic shape for thier age, those are the real gems. 👏🏽 That is a real score there.
The pricing depends also on if the person who inherited this understood the worth . I can see someone who doesn’t understand the worth selling this for 1000$ or something , and that’s something any of us would pay to pray . But if they knew the worth I see them selling all this anywhere from 5-9k .
The collection was absolutely amazing. I am a X-Men fan so I loved the X-Men goodness and first appearances. I say you dropped at least $7,000 for the collection. Great haul and unboxing.
Now watching the video, they dropped a pretty penny for sure. Very nice pickup great job. I just want that pre -code Horror book LOL even though the FF52 & Spiderman 15 are lovely😍
I'm interested to see another video of just your golden age EC Horror and what those are worth once you look those up! I'm guessing they could easliy be worth much more than the other books you got from the collection! VERY NICE Score!
Unbelievable collection. Congrats! You mentioned you found EC comics but I think you were mistaken. Those were Atlas. Regardless, those pre code horror books were still great. Nicely done!
The Silver Age heroes are pretty nice, but those precode horror comics are spectacular. Once you're done with your research on those earlier horror issues I think you'll be really delighted. That Astonishing # 3 with Marvel Boy by Bill Everett is a tough find and oh so cool (as are all of those other Atlas horror books ... definitely tilted toward the better issues that are seldom seen, rather than the more mundane issues of the same sort). What are your plans for these?
With out going threw all the books the most I would have payed would have been 2,500 .A great collection though just a lot of cleaning and pressing that needs to get done a few books I would buy FF55,57 Tales to Astonish 83 .and for the wax on the ASM50 you can open up the first page and have it a bit off the table and on the opposite side hit it with a blow-dryer on low for a bit and the wax should melt off but Lenny will do a great job thought. And cool CGC grades
I don't know what you'd pay. I just know that I have about everything in this collection. I've been collecting since 1974, and inherited my uncle's '60s collection at age 8. This is some really primo stuff.
Dude you guys need the step up your comic investment knowledge. Apart from the ASM and FF’s those silver pre-code horror books are the most valuable- go and Bag and board those and stick those 80s x-men in the 5 dollar bins.
@@TheComicsDen Check out ( ua-cam.com/users/BronzeAndModernGods ) = John and Richard are the hosts - I watch them along with your show. John is a big collector of Atlas / Jack Kirby / 50's art and he has spoken about this book in the past. I only saw a glimpse in the video but your copy does look lovely.
Angelo how much is astonishing with marvel boy , strange tales 128 plus the rest of strange tales , journey into mystery. Tales to astonish and sgt. Fury.
You can always sell the ASM books with ease. I sold practically all of my old and midgrade ASM (nrs 11-60) for very good prices. I would have easily paid $ 2000 for the collection and still make good money selling it one at a time. You probably have a bargain. Well, you guys make such nice videos that I hope you succeed in the business :)
what did you end up paying? Without really knowing what you paid can't tell if it was a good deal or not a good deal. Regardless yes that's a collection I would buy if the price makes sense.
those 50s horror comics are by far the best part of the collection
some really nice other comics also tho congrats

"Black Panther cover! Black Panther cover!" 👍
*_Gratz guys, great score._*
PS
You keep looking at the screen on the side of the camera and not down the lens?
Finding any EC Comics period is gold! You went right by that Astonishing #3 by Atlas/Marvel circa 1951. Love those Golden Age books in your purchase.
That spellbound at 3:27 is a high dollar book
Honestly, I think the pre code horror books are the highlight of the collection. Good stuff!

Dope video, my favorite from the collection is secret wars as a set but that first appearance Kraven was a close second
Congrats guys!! Good things happen when you grind consistently… bravo

I have the early Gene Colan Daredevil. I am a big Gene Colan fan. Tomb of Dracula also good value. I don't have all Strange Tales.
Totally awesomeness of a Vintage comic book kind!! Thanks for sharing Your passion and adventures. From Toronto Ontario Canada 😀 👍 🇺🇸🇨🇦♥️♥️💯💯

That Fantastic Four #57 is gotta be the best FF cover ever. I been trying to get a good copy of it but that book in high grade is worth alot .

Awesome collection!!! Some really nice graded books you got back from CGC. Partial to the ASM AND Secret Wars Complete set.
Wow!!! Great collection to buy! There was an astonishing in there with marvel boy. If you are selling any of these let
Me know. I’m interested.
I don't know what you'd pay. I just know that I have about everything in this collection. I've been collecting since 1974, and inherited my uncle's '60s collection at age 8. This is some really primo stuff.

Geez I thought all those $1 comics you got recently was great but those Golden horror books are to ‘die’ for! Congrats!

The FF and ASM runs are awesome! 👍👍👍
Congratulations!!!
You struck a gold collection. 🤑
Awesome grab yet again.....🤘🤘
Nothing wrong with a crazy box🎉
I’ve extremely interested in buying one of those first Mary Jane ASMs from you
What happened to that The Thing #9, Charlton comics? Or, the Weird Horrors #8, ST. John's?
I would love to know if people think that CGC is a racket or if they are offering a fair and good service?
Awesome video
That issue of Astonishing #3 (April 1951) is the first Marvel Boy (becomes Quasar in the late 1970s) - it is a big book - check the CGC census =)
WOW thank you!!!

Comic Den 101,That Thor#129 is the first app of Zeus and I think its worth about $150 or more depending on the condition.
Holy hell, that was outstanding!
If you are keeping the secret wars 8 raw I would be interested in purchasing! Great video guys
Thanks Cam! We will definitely you know!
Lenny from Spineworks is my next door neighbor!
5 to 10 thousand. But damn! That was a cool find. You should be proud.
Those silvers look like they're in decent shape..
That 9.8. Xmen 4. Is sick
What a great collection to pick up and your cgc grades were excellent as well. 🇬🇧 🇬🇧👍
Thank you so much!
Excellent excellent
The first part highlights made me laugh after the horror finds
How much for fantastic four annual 3,4, Thor. , submariner issues, avengers issues and fantastic four issues.
FF 52 and ASM 33 alone were worth the price. Nice job.
Early horror!! I’d love those in my collection
Are you guys on IG? I’m going to send you a picture of the one I’m interested in if it’s for sale.
Those aren't EC horror those are early Atlas(which becomes Marvel) comics. Really good stuff.
Hola amigos , no coleccionan comics extranjeros ? Tengo muchos a la venta de dc y marvel de editoriales Mexicanas de los 50s , 60 s 70s

Where do you do your press and cleaning please
Spineworks. The gentleman that owns it is named Lenny.
Asking what the favorite book is out of this collection it’s like trying to ask who your favorite kid is
