Fused Glass Project - Making Flowerpot Garden Gnomes

- These fused glass gnomes are a fun little addition to your flowerpots. They stand at 5” tall “above ground” and have a 3” spike that goes into the dirt. They feature fun floral details and each gnome is unique.
All the glass I use is Bullseye 90 COE.

Hi, I love this gnome design! What is the glass you used COE 90 or 96? I’m trying to think if I need to adjust the firing schedule for COE 96.
Hello Jody. This is a COE 90 schedule. I use bullseye glass.

I don’t know enough about microwave kilns to give you an answer. How easily can you control the temperature? This doesn’t go to a full fuse only a tack. Furthermore, because of the varying thickness, you need a really controlled annealing.
I love these little guys. I have just purchased a Cricut and wonder if you could tell how you got the template into the design space. I think it’s a wonderful idea.

Thank you so much for your videos. I'm teaching a class at a retirement community where I work and I printed your patterns, but they seem to be much larger then 5 inches tall. Any ideas of how I can get the correct size?
You could import the image into a word file and resize it.

@@workofartgreeley7065 The rule 6 applies when you are doing a full fuse. In this case we are mostly tack or contour fusing except for the nose and feet. If you full fuse something that is less than 6mm it will contract upon itself to achieve the 6mm. That's what causes "dog boning" where the centers pull in.
