To me he’s still a much better asset to the Cavs than Dean Wade. Wade can only spot up and shoot sometimes but Bates is more of an Efficient Shooter who can make difficult shots when needed. I feel that if he’s thrown into the Fire on some Moments then it’ll help him Develop more of what he has to be. Also to be Quite Honest most of these Rookies are a bit Overrated and I hope the Cavs don’t lose this Guy to another Team and watch him grow into a Superstar type of Player. At some Point they need to Play him in these Regular Season Games because of his Confidence within Himself. He has a Learning Mentality, a Dog Mentality and he’s only gonna get better. The Cavs gotta Play him more cause for some Reason I believe they are Missing that Extra 6’7, 6’8 Type of Scorer that can be used even in the Playoffs just like Sam Cassell Contributed when he was Drafted by the Rockets. Just because someone is a Rookie doesn’t mean they can’t add Tremendously to a Team, I totally Disagree with that and one Day he’s gonna Grow into a Huge Superstar and folks will look back and say isn’t that’s the Guy The Cavaliers Drafted, Wow look @what he’s doing.
Dean Wade is an intricate part of our recent success. He has turned into the "3 and D" wing that we need him to be. Im a big Emoni fan, but Dean Wade is important to our current team. He didn't play yesterday and we lost. He plays great defense, which is our identity.
Dean Wade is not just an elite defender. He is a 40% shooter from the arc. EB needs to study film of DW and pick up some of his defensive techniques. If EB can get near DW's defensive ability, and you put them both on the floor at the same time, holy s_ _ _!!
Imo that 3 spot will eventually be his. Strus ain't no damn 3 and okoro on a contract year. It will be interesting to see what they do with Ice. But Bates by year 3 should be the guy
