Thank you for posting this one, in particular. The meditation practice set forth in this tape is a direct result of an asking I have been sitting with for the past two years. This is around how long I, personally, have been working with The Infinite Way teachings. My mother, who passed away in February, introduced me to Joel a long time ago but I was not ready to hear. This recording showed up to me after being in a meditative state this past Sunday and the very first thing I saw when I returned to technology was that this recording had been posted. Satsangdotie, thank you for the gift of this and all of the other recordings, for that matter, which have got me to the point of being able to catch a glimpse at what is unfolding in my life right now. I usually listen all through the night with Joel accompanying me in and out of sleep. During “waking” hours I prefer to read his words (and life). Anyone else notice the odd sound effects starting and intermittent from about minute 40? Really caught my attention as if predicating some extra special message....indeed❤️
Joel was aware of every genre and branch of spiritual methods, religions, gurus, organizations from his past to his present. He studied and observed vastly. Although being in Christian Science for a good number of years, his Infinite Way is unique and can be thought of as a channeled work. It dictated and announced Itself to him. Joel had great depth. He studied Sanskrit and was personal friends with Paramahsnsa Yogananda, as well as friends with the other spiritual giants of his day. Joel is a magnificent phenomenon that we are so lucky to have these taped recordings, something that was about as hi-tech as you could get at the time, and many never took advantage of it. But, since Joel allowed Spirit to use his vehicle, infinite possibilities of expression were at his disposal and utilized for the preservation of this message, hearing it straight from the horse’s mouth, with all the humor, pauses, inflections, and emphasis, that sometimes gets lost in the edited version of the printed word in books. And, the amount of recorded audio material and printed material is almost too good to be true.
@@yourinfiniteway I am not sure where I read it because I used to read hundreds of books. I just remember that Yogananda loved Joel and gave Joel the keys to his meditation room in California. And, Yogananda introduced Joel to Kria Yoga. Also, when Yogananda died, Joel counseled one of Yogananda’s young students who was feeling a bit lonely at the loss and without direct guidance. Joel went into meditation and the presence of Yogananda appeared and Joel allowed the young man to understand the message. I know that the young man later wrote books and opened a meditation center. His name slips my mind. Joel spoke on all the masters, including Ramana Maharishi, Guru Nanak, Buddha and so many others. Growing up, I used to buy Joel tapes and play them in my car for hours on trips to work and family vacations and had a tape class and attended others’ tape classes and always read Joel’s books and many other forms of spirituality. But, for a good 10 years, I really devoted exclusive time to Joel and went to retreats of his direct students, so I heard and retained a lot of stories. I mean, aside from Joel’s spiritual greatness, he was a master story teller.
Thank you for posting this. At 1:03 the form of meditation reminds me of a form I learned from The Rosicrucian Order, AMORC so long ago, except we started with our feet and worked upward. It used to put me to sleep before I even got to my knees, but it became a very powerful experience. So happy to have found this. Looking forward to meeting some of y'all on the spiritual plane.
