Today's video is to be specifically on how to create your own speed combo.
Yoyoing 'Speed Combos' or 'Rail Combos' are a very cool and impressive style of trick that all Yoyoers should have in their repertoire. In this video, I take the concept from 'How to make yoyo tricks' and apply it specifically to building a speed combo. In the video, I outline a 4 step process into building your very first speed combo and beefing up your trick set as a Yoyo player.
1) Identify whose speed combos you want to emulate and learn their combos. You can learn this via online trick tutorials or by slowing down their freestyle videos.
2) Cherry-pick elements from those speed combos that you like, and discard the rest.
3) Add 1 or 2 of your own unique elements to the combo to give it a bit of an original touch.
4) Combine all the elements into a nice flowy sequence. And viola, you should have your own speed combo.
Note, the art of speed combos goes beyond learning the mechanics of a trick, you also need to do it fast. So be sure to ensure practice your speed combo until it's stage-ready.

Hmmmm, for me I've always found a combination of two things helpful. Adding your own personality to the video, and trying to be the best Yoyo player you can possibly be and breaking down things you think could be better explained. I think that would be the advice I'd give myself if I could go back in time today. Oh... and consistently uploading, but do as I say and not as I do ;)

I'd recommend an affordable metal Yoyo of some kind. The YYF Shutter is really good. If you're looking for a durable plastic I'd recommend the ariant (A plastic yoyo I helped design with Magic Yoyo), or another good yoyo is the YYF Replay Pro.

hey brandon, i bought an Airwave 4a yoyo a few days ago, but its way too responsive, like i cant even do suicides without it snagging...how do i solve that?

Try playing it for 1a for a little bit and wearing out the response pads, then go back to it once you've 'broken' it in. Not sure if that will work, but that's what I'd do in that situation.
Also can you do a hook for dummies video pls?
Hmmmmmm I've got a tutorial on a 2.0 hook, perhaps you might be able to check that out. That's where I breakdown how I learnt how to do a 2.0.
