Looks like an awesome setup. Quiet too.
Definitely not as loud as you'd think a setup like this would be. The cat whiskers made a difference. Still more noise than my trad bows and I've still been shooting them plenty lately.
Great video! Very informative and also with the hunting footage very engaging
I'm also a happy owner of the Z 1 S. I couldn't believe the smoothness of the draw cycle. I have a 27.5 inch draw length, arrow weight 455 and I'm getting 277 fps
Thanks for the video Dylan, the videography looks excellent. Are you using fixed blade broadheads at the speeds you're getting and if so are they difficult to tune?
Yeh mate I'm using fixed blade heads. Only animal show at 297fps was with a prototype Crafted Archery head but they seem to be flying well for the moment. I've shot broadheads out to 30m so far without issue and will push it a little further soon.
As a 73 year old bow hunter for more than 40 years I applaud your total setup. One awesome rig you’ve put together. I can’t draw 70+ #’s anymore so I defer to lighter arrows to maintain a decently flat trajectory. Which can be crucial in a hunting scenario as well as unknown yardage target competition. I use an Elite Ritual 33 at 62#’s. With a little tweaking on the threads I’m getting 273 fps with a 427 grain hunting arrow. For years I’ve preferred the Magnus black Hornet w/bleeders. I’ve gotten nearly a 100% pass thru on deer. And of the 12 elk ( last one killed 9 years ago) I’ve taken only 5 were completely pass thru hits. One of the best thing about watching you is the fact you are one of the very few UA-cam hunter/archer that knows how to use a release properly. I don’t watch the guys no matter who they are that haven’t learned how to setup their equipment and use a release correctly. Great video. Keep them coming!👍👍👀
I appreciate the kind words, mate. Thank you. 455gn is a little light in this part of the world when talking about shooting a 70# compound bow but I think it'll still have more than enough energy to do what I need it to. I have also made sure to learn how to properly use a hinge release and I am shooting fairly confidently at the moment. I've only shot compound serious for about 12 months and have been using the hinge most of that time.
