Beautiful and scary at the same time. Very enjoyable. Drove the TT 1987 on a Ducati. What an experience. Now more than happy to follow you. Many thanks for sharing mate 👍
Hiya I was a fellow biker in my younger days as well though I never got to race or even ride the TT. My grand father had a Manx Norton in the day and I believe it is on show somewhere in the IOM but I’m not sure where. Biking and boating we have a lot in common mike
Every time I watch one of your videos I learn a bit more, or get a recap on something I've experienced or 'learned' from elsewhere. They are very much appreciated here 😊.
The shot of the cockpit looks real comfy, definitely a nice little ship. Easy to love sailing with that lovely boat like the Swallow, I'd never be off it
I love the experience of night sailing, and the pleasure of reaching your destination and getting a good rest. On the downside, your senses can be on edge, especially as you are generally the only pleasure boat out there, and the slightest mishap can make you freak out. I have seen incredible night shots with Huawei phones, but I don’t think it has anything to do with the lense, but rather with very clever in camera AI enhancement! Love these videos, simple, honest tutorials! And thanks for the namesake anchor shot 😎
Hi Bruce, what you say about night sailing rings true to me as to any other sailor I'm sure. The well exposed image I got was an iPhone which surprised me as it was much better than my camera. Think I need a new camera really. Next time you comment I expect to see a Bruce anchor in your thumb nail and not the letter B. mike
Nice one it's a bit of a way from Chichester Harbour, but I may fancy doing that one day,at least I know how to get in Happy belated birthday 🎂 to Lisa!
Another good vid. Sailed the east coast of Ireland but have not visited the IOM yet, though good to see the different perspectives of the harbour access.
Hi Andy when you do decide to come across check out Port Erin as long as the winds allow. Love the place in nice weather otherwise looks like Peel for your first stop. Happy sailing mike
Hi Mike..another great video....I happened to be at penmon point on your return leg......in my campervan...you left moelfre in the morning...your bro in tarka went past us....heading west...before he got to you he turned east ...gave me laugh......there he was in front of you again...🤣🤣🤣
Very informative Mike thanks. We are hoping to do the same journey on the 27th, of May all being well, but it looks like I’ll be under Genoa only as I have a problem with my in mast furling system and can’t get it fixed till after that week. Keep the good work up thoroughly enjoy your vlogs. Roy
Have you ever sailed to Porthmadog? I'm welsh but I worked in Aberdyfi for a bit. It got me interested in sailing but I will never be able to afford a yaught. With Aberdyfi I was surprised how few boats actually sailed out. BTW when I was 16 in 1993 I caught a "ship" from Llandudno pier to Douglas. 4 hours. You can see the IOM from the summit of the great orme which you properly know. Nice explanations, thankyou.
Hi Tony thanks for the story. Yes I’ve a video on Porthmadog if you go back some. I seen IOM from the Orme on a clear day many a time. I’m sure you could afford a yacht if you really wanted one. Take a look at eBay you will be surprised at what little some go for mike
Leaving in the dark and arriving in the light is the best way when leaving home port but I normally leave in the light and arrive home port in the dark. Is that the same for you? Mike
@@sailingcosiloveit getting into dumfries is a bit difficult so try to be coming in, in daylight. But night sailing is magical, we bought meerkat in milford so was overnight from there to holyhead
Great video Mike as usual! Many thanks for your time yesterday at Deganwy, I learned a lot and it was great to meet you, see Swallow and have a chat and a laugh with you 🙂
Hi Carl it was nice of you to take the time and come down and see me. Always got time for my fellow sailors. It was great to meet you too. Hope to see you out on the water soon mike
You're not the first scouser to say here comes the sun. Nice simple pilotage thanks I'll file that away in the memory banks. You only missed one thing, roughly how much were the harbour fees?
No we never steer the boat at sea just let one of the auto systems do the work. I find it hard to manually steer at night if it’s all black and I can’t look at the compass for too long without getting sleepy. Only ever hand steer in close quarters but Lisa did have a go of steering with the wheel in the Menai the other day. She says it’s not as easy as a tiller
Hi Rob they opened up 1st April, no restrictions and no covid requirements at all. Back to normal thank god. I paid near £26 for each night and had two. Less than £1.00 per foot so not to shabby mike
Really enjoy the commentary. Its like being at a sort of sailing school with your mate doing the lesson. Your enthusiasm is great Mike. Im realy enjoying the escapism of your sailing adventures. Tc...Jon

Hi Lance he's scared of the dark! lol only joking mike
What a simple yet great video, phone cameras have come a long way for sure. Went to IOM in 88 and 90 for the TT, great place.

Good luck working on that one 👍

So the IOM borders are open again, any 'covid passport or vaccination certs required? Do you mind telling the price of berthing per day?
