Here at 2 am with slightly different situation - changed battery in my key but start button is not working .. why?!!
I just had key fob issues with my 2008 S 550 it wouldn't lock or unlock the doors also push start not working. All fuses were good and key fob not defective. After a week my car wouldn't start at all. After a jump I drove it to Park Place and left it there overnight to have them test the two batteries after car sat for a while. Turns out that the main system battery in the trunk was bad. It was draining power from the starter battery that's why my key fob stopped working and car wouldn't start. I replaced the main system battery and everything works fine.
Yeah, these cars are always on with all the electronics so the batteries are very important. Glad you were able to get everything resolved. Thanks for commenting and checking out channel! 🙏🏽
What do you do if you get this message and there’s no start button.
I changed the battery and it didn't work. I put back the old battery and it worked again. Can the difference being the old battery is Panasonic and the new one Duracell be the issue of is there some programing I need to do once I put in a new battery?

ok on a 2012 C250 the key symbol lites on the dash bit it DOES NOT SAY KEY NOT recognized,,THE KEY FOB STILL OPENS AND CLOSES THE DOOR ,,BUT THE FOB WILL NOT START THE CAR PLEASE ADVISE>>THANKS

How do I program my key to start my car from outside the car? I tried the push lock than panic button but the car still will not start.
i got a problem that whenever i push my start button nothing happens, and when i try to use the keyfob to start the car it says take key from ignition, ik its an esl problem, but is there a temporary work around to start the car or something to take it to the dealership? i seen this one video this guy took out a fuse and a relay cover but i havent had the chance to try, but wanted to see if there was other ways

im having the opposite, my key works fine but the lock/unlock buttons are not, battery was replaced.
Can anti theft system can be triggered by trying to remove radio without tools, now my car wont keep running for more than half second. How do i fix that?

Why my 2006 cls500 the remote key has two batteries 20 25 can somebody explain to me why
I’m having an issue in my 2014 E63-S where my key fob works fine, battery is good etc. But when I go to start the car (whether with the push button, or putting the key in the ignition), the car does NOTHING. It’s acting like my foot isn’t on the brake, it just goes to position 2 acting like I’m not trying to start the car. Did it randomly a few times and after pressing on and off like 20+ times it randomly worked. This happened more and more and now no matter how many times I try it won’t start. Any ideas? I’ve heard of faulty brake light switch not detecting your foot on the brake?

@@Jojo-147 Hi yes I solved it! Actually it was my starter motor relay! Located in the fuse box driver side engine bay. I took it out, and put it back in and it started. I then just put in a new one from Mercedes and it started perfectly. It’s labeled as Relay M, Terminal 50 Relay. Mine was a green square relay.

No, but you wouldn’t be able to turn it back on once the car was turned off.

For me it was the battery in one of my key fobs. The battery may be getting too low for the car to start with your second key.

Check if the car's battery is the issue.
Hey bro what if the fob don’t turn? It also had water damage but I replaced the batteries it worked for days ago now won’t work what should I do?
Water damage can be tricky. It will work for a minute and then stop. A lot of times it is due to corrosion that doesn’t (at first) cause issue but over time (can be short or long) it will cause things to stop working. It may be too late, especially with circuit boards. But you can try cleaning the circuit board inside the fob with Isopropyl Alcohol 99%. The best results come from ultrasonic cleaner since it does a deep clean (can be pricey though). Good luck! 👍🏽
So, what happens when you remove the button and use the key as a traditional and still doesn't turn on?
I'm thinking it could be a dead/weak car battery, key fob isn't being recognized at all, or something more complex.

I just had 20% ceramic tint installed on my 2017 cla250 and when I got in the car at the tint shop it said “Key Not Detected” I replaced the batteries in both my Fobs but no luck.
Is there anything I can do? Has anyone else had this problem? What could be the cause of this?

What does it have to do with the car starting tho? Just had this happen to me
@@Dino-rp5jt I think if the ceramic tint is wet it interferes with the signal to the antenna in the Back windshield.
After a day or two the tint dried and it’s been totally fine.
My fob work for lock and unlock but it won't start and it s show key not detected what's wrong with it ?
For me, the battery needed to be changed to a new one

@@migueldiaz7568 yes it all finally started working again and I even changed batteries in both fobs just to make sure apparently there is a module for your keyless in the back window area and they get too wet and they don't work it's 100% the window tint shops fault
@@erictempleton6152 thanks for the reply. Mine worked the next day after I got it tinted. I just turned the heater on full blast, maybe it dried something up.
What about if the car doesn't show switch on even when use key direct

I mean I did all the above I have seen in video but when I try to start the doesn't start also even the dashboard light doesn't appear on the dashboard I mean a sign for switch on all I see is key do not match
Hmm…you might have a car battery issue or the key fob needs to be resynced to your vehicle.
My 2006 e350 ignition don’t connect with key phone so my car is in steering lock and key don’t turn

@@DriveTalkCars You told me exactly what was wrong with my key fob. I had no idea that the key fob weak battery would contribute to turning off my car. Now I make sure the battery is strong and the key fob is close to the starter and not on the passenger seat.. Thanks for saving me money. You are a blessing.
