    Loved that!! That double at the end. It’ll scare you how many people will shoot a duck like that and take their eye off of it and they fall dead like that after flying 300-400yds. Way to keep your eye on it after knowing you hit him. Keep those videos coming and God bless

      Appreciate it! Weve had that happen a fair amount of times. Duck flys out a few hundred yards and just fall dead

    From the great Northwest public duck blind. That's the way To Do it guys. You gotta fight. Mother nature for all kinds of things but Pay's off. When the plan comes together? We're doing really good here on our public lands. We need another good push of rain to bring in another big new flocks a birds. OK God bless from the great Northwest.
    Keep looking up.

    They were short stopping you pretty good. If it were me I would have pulled the decoys in to the right more and tightened up the spread. It looked like the decoys were acting as a barrier to them coming further.

    Great hunt Jake. You still rocking the echo call? Been rewatching some of your older calling videos and am impressed with, what it seems to me, the growth and maturity of your calling. Not that you weren't good just seems even more ducky. Keep em coming and safe travels. Pray for y'all's safety. (Not gonna lie though I miss the Bible verses). Til next time. Happy hunting

      @@ChasingGreen I’ve read people talk trash about Dakota decoys and how “cartoonish” they look but man from the looks of it they’re pretty dang close to live mallards. Some crazy movement too!

    • @ChasingGreen
      @ChasingGreen  11 місяців тому +1

      @woalmann6288 yeah, thats crazy to me. Most duck hunters i know all agree they are the most realistic looking decoys out there. Only decoy that has ever fooled me when riding up on them.

    I want to start waterfowl hunting next year but all public land around me is very pressured by the research I have done so far, do you have any tips?

    • @ChasingGreen
      @ChasingGreen  11 місяців тому +1

      Just watch a ton of videos and mimic what the successful people are doing. Find a local duck hunter that is successful and go with them is the best thing you can do. Can be tough to break through on that, but worth it. Just takes a lot of practice. Always keep learning and investing in the future and before you know it, you will have spots and experience and you will be a public land beast 👊🏻

      See if there are any WMA’s open to waterfowl hunting. Start learning waterfowl ID and get access to rivers. Always be safe in water and wear a lifejacket in rivers. Skeet shooting helps also.

  • @DuckSeason12

    What choke and shot size are you using?

    • @ChasingGreen
      @ChasingGreen  10 місяців тому +1

      In this patternmaster original long range, 3 inch #2s. Now i use the muller passing, 3 inch #3s steel.

    • @DuckSeason12
      @DuckSeason12 10 місяців тому

      @@ChasingGreen thanks. I used kicks full last season and I’m using a kicks mod this season. But I’m cutting the wad slits shorter to get a better pattern to get closer to a full without overchoking. Looks like you have a good pattern and make some great shots.

    • @DuckSeason12
      @DuckSeason12 10 місяців тому +1

      I’m going to give #3 steel a try. Those talks from Muller chokes sounded pretty interesting. I think he had a good point about lower velocity patterning better.

    • @ChasingGreen
      @ChasingGreen  10 місяців тому

      @DuckSeason12 1000 percent on the lower velocity

    • @DuckSeason12
      @DuckSeason12 10 місяців тому

      @@ChasingGreen 1,000 per mil is 100 per cent, math joke I haven’t really used to success. I’m guessing you agree on lower velocity patterns. Problem is smaller steel needs a minimum velocity at range to be effective.
