Carnival is for everyone one. Not for a particular country. Nigeria corner means they will dance, sing etc and so do Caribbean will do same and others

Nigerian corner??? Wow! Times have changed.
Carnival is a West Indian event which encourages all minorities to gather together and celebrate not segregate! I’m not surprised though as typically West Indians and Africans do not get on! Sorry to have to say this - especially Nigerians - they seem to have a problem with West Indians! I live in a predominant African community in London and they seem to have a problem with me although keep myself to myself lol (I’m of Jamaican origins) and proud of it too!
sparkles1260 there's been an African corner for over 10 yrs at carnival. Just like there are numerous corners that play UK and American music. It's about diversity and cultural unity. So Africans having a corner shouldn't be an issue as the Spanish have their own float parade. If a few people you meet don't like you don't paint a whole nation with the same brush. I have always gotten along with both sides and seen the good and bad in both. Stay blessed.

I am confused, why is there a Nigerian corner. I thought Notting Hill carnival was a Caribbean event. Sorry Im not from there and I dont mean any disrespect I am just curious because I do plan to go to a Notting Hill Carnival some day. I thought it was to celebrate Caribbean culture or is it all cultures?
loverochelle it could have started with the Caribbean cultural event but over the years shit changed I guess, if you wanna experience Caribbean culture go to the Caribbean not Europe.
I live in Toronto Canada and there are many Nigerians and Ghanaians here as well but you would never see a Ghanaian or Nigerian float in our Caribbean Parade (Caribana). It’s all about the Islands and no one else is gonna take away from that. Ppl from African countries do come out to support tho
Yea I’m just stick to Caribana in my hometown and save up for Trinidad carnival
