I'm 60% into When the Moon Hatched and absolutely loving it! Definitely a new obsession. Completely agree with what you said about the writing being beautiful but sometimes trying a little too hard. Such a minor gripe though. I need the hardback to come out asap!
I downloaded When the Moon Hatched but saw the long glossary and got intimidated because I’m not the best at word pronunciation, but I will try it again because I really want to read it. I’ll stick with it. 🧚♀
I didn’t read the glossary haha! Just skipped right over it and read the book, and was able to piece everything together that way.

Loved this!!!!! Adding When The Moon Hatched to my TBR. I'm with you ...there are too many mediocre to bad FanRo with underdeveloped characters and worlds! 🧙 I'm being very selective this year as I'm fatigued...Ive decided to add more traditional fantasy into my list and started the Mistborn Trilogy. I am curious if you read House Of Flame and Shadow? I know you have mixed feelings about books 1 and 2.

Just recently I DNFd a book and I realized after it was TikTok recommended. The story would have been fine, but the characters had s*x way too quickly in the book, and there was another issue in the book that was a pet peeve of mine, so I had to put the book down. 🧚♀️
Wanted to say for anyone in the comments who is planning to read When the Moon Hatched, I started off without reading the glossary and was struggling, so I do think it helps to look that over first.
I didn't read the glossary for when the moon. Hatched and I was fine. I do feel like the writing f style was a lot and unfortunately dnfed 85 percent of the way through. I figured if I'm 85 percent of the way there and still feeling like it's a drag im not gonna enjoy the ending lol I'm glad you liked it tho!

I want to try both of these books, but romantasy is new for me. I like a good fantastical world building with a side of romance too. Or even be 50/ 50. I don't like the romance to be insta love and/or lust driven tho

Dear Crystal why did you remove your old videos?? :(((( I loved rewatching your older vlogs - the ones especially from 2021 and 2022. you talked a lot about historical romances.....the Elizabeth Hoyt vlog :((( your winter/vlogmas vlogs were so cozy and like a warm blanket ...... and you were wearing that cute "ear" beannie.... booktube has been slimming down so rapidly. Sam reads a little, Chris bookish cauldron- they too have deleted their videos, and in January Jennifer Brooks suddenly died which left such a hole in me....This winter feels so lonely here... :(

That's ok! I love an in depth fantasy but I know not everyone does
