I love using my distress inks- (thanks to Karen from Zucchini kitty for enabling me a year ago) I use a cheap eyeshadow brush to get into the tiny spaces - if you use Prisma (I think BW too) the ink just skims over the top without discolouring your pencil work- so no need to be careful when doing backgrounds. Enjoying your background vids - will have to try the water technique with my inks. Esp like seeing you show your pages where you have used each technique
Thank you so much for demonstration tools to use for backgrounds. I am new at this usually using black acrylic markers fror background and then glitter and such.
I love this series. So helpful! I just bought golden satin glazing liquid and man it’s amazing! I tried gesso but I like the Golden better and can use alcohol markers on even very thin paged coloring books now
Thank you so much. I much prefer the Satin glazing liquid over Gesso because it gives a much smoother finish and I can have the choice of using coloured pencil as well as water based media.
I really enjoyed watching this video. I have several Distress Ink pads in various colors but didn’t know how to use them. I love my Inktense pencils, but they’ve been upstaged by my new set of Neo Color II crayon’s. I will learn to use them all in time.
I want to get into inks for my backgrounds, so this was nice to see what you like to use to apply them/ blend them. Super useful ☺️ thanks for making this part in your series!!
Very useful!! I am sitting here with my second iPad buying up on Amazon! Today was pension day! You have become like a friend to me I would love to sit at the table and colour with you in person, since I am in Australia that’s not possible, love your videos very much, and your accent what part of Britain are you from? I was born in Birmingham but don’t really have an accent, except true Aussies usually pick I am from the UK 😂😂
Hi Angela, I’m from Yorkshire, also known as God’s own country! The countryside is beautiful and it’s not far from where I live, just on the doorstep really. It is a pleasure to make videos and to receive comments like the one you have written. Birmingham is further south. Thank you so very much. I would be too scared to visit Australia with all those scary spiders you have there!
On that page with the seahorse /sea dragon.. What do you use for your golds? I'm looking for something other than paint to make very vibrant metallic silver and gold, do you have any suggestions for something? Ideally pens Thank you in advance. Have been binge watching your videos this morning after getting into coloring recently, you are very talented and I have learned so much from you!
Thank you! Instead of gold or silver paint you could use paint markers, I really like the Spectrum noir gold and silver paint markers. Alternatively, you could use the Uni-ball metallic pens.
It would be great if you could add Amazon Global links to your products, you make some pennies and it’s easier for us to look up the products you use. How do you get that metallic color like the one you showed in the Johanna Basford’s page? It’s beautiful 😻 I received an art set with some sort of crayons that are marked as oil pastels, I really don’t know what to do with them 🙀
I might look into the Amazons global links when I get a chance, thanks for the suggestion! In Johanna’s book I used Finetec Coliro paint I think, it was some time ago so I’m not 100% sure! I have some cheap oil pastels but I have never tried them in a colouring book.
Hi, you can get them online from Inkylicious but at the moment they are out of stock (sorry!), but here is the link: www.inkylicious.co.uk/ink-duster-pack-of-3.html

Thanks for watching and for your comment and especially for the tip, I’ll definitely test that out. Best wishes
I loved this series! I love how much glitter you use in your art

Thanks so much Mary. I really like using my inktense pencils but seem to reach for the Neo ii’s more often too! Have fun with your supplies x

Thanks so much, your comment is really encouraging. Best wishes
This was great! I’m mesmerized with that beautiful smooth gold you use on your pages, can you share which one it is? Thank you!
I think it is the Coliro gold palette - Arabic gold or Inca gold
@@ColouringwithK Oh thank you so very much!

Thank you again! Did you prepare your pages before you use inktense?
Not always, depends on the book. On a better quality book I just use Inktense directly.

Some of the oil pastels you can add water to and they react similar to the watercolor items like ink tense stick...
This IS very useful! Thanks.
So pleased it was useful 😊
