Thank you very much for this. I don't know if that's an Australian UA-camr thing but you, Mitch and Julia rock at delivering the concept of added value to your audience while keeping it very (user)friendly.
You are a lifesaver, you have no idea how good your timing is. I have a 2 week holiday starting tomorrow and I was planning to re-edit all of my pictures and learn retouching. After hours of looking for a tutorial the past weeks, this finally comes with perfect timing. There is little to no information for retouching and skin tones (at least hard to find). Now this is a perfect start to learn during my holiday. Thanks a lot :D
wow the select each part of subject is amazing! ive been painting the clothes and skin separately the whole time with the brush lol this is going to save soooo much time!! thank you! subscribed!
Wow thank you so much for this information. I struggle a lot with my editing. Can you talk about if you recommend using Auto white balance or use Kelvin while balance instead?
I don’t use the Lightroom auto white balance picker (only for real estate work) and like I showed with the tint in the auto white balance in the camera, and then just adjust the WB with my eye if required
Question, what is your thought process on editing. I’m starting to get into photography and i’m looking up videos about editing but sometimes it’s not clicking for me as to why edit, what are you looking for in your edits, what’s the whole structure behind editing.
Hey so I did just release a new video on my editing workflow and I go into depth about selecting my images to edit and also what I look for while I edit
Good set of techniques, well presented. Something different/off in audio, not as clean as in your prior vids. Lens Correction Sync Question. If you used lens auto correct for each pic, and there are different lenses in the mix, would LR Sync still apply the specific correction from the first image lens to the whole set? Or would LR apply the proper auto correction for each individual lens (based on lens used)? This assumes LR has a lens profile for each lens you used. How often do you color calibrate your monitor? Cheers!
Lightroom will apply the respective lens correction for each lens. There is no need to NOT include the Lens Correction checkmark in activities like sync settings or even presets. Some mirrorless camera manufacturers (I believe Sony) include the lens profile as metadata inside the RAW file. Lightroom knows that and will not actually apply its own lens profile, there will be a corresponding info in the Lens Corrections tab: "...Lens Correction Profile already applied". In short: nothing can go wrong.
This comment made me buy a new dynamic mic 🎤😅 It’s my Sennheiser shot gun mic and it gets to much bounce from the desk, monitor and celling, so next tutorial you’ll be listening to some dam fine audio I know that if you leave the box ticked it will not apply the same lens to all the images in theory But in practice I’ve had issues when I does 😂 Adobe bugs
Oh no so sorry about that, I’m back at home tomorrow and I’ll be replying to emails, you can send me a DM or a customer message on my website or email me at gerard@gerardneedham.com
@@gerardneedham if you get a non fotogenic model, how do you tell the good picture from the bad one? Given it's sharp and fairly well composed. Some people just can't model. I of course refer to swimsuit photography. Isn't that right?
bro nice techniques but these are just basic adjustments to an already nearly perfect picture.... :) good looking model, perfect skin, sundown light, soft ocean foggy breeze air
Don't know why you turn off your lens correction. Every lens has built in distortion, so unchecking that makes no sense whatsoever. I use a card to check white balance at the beginning of every shoot and every hour thereafter since light changes as the day moves on.
So I always have camera corrections on, so the lens correction should be on, but I’m always using new or unreleased lenses with no camera corrections, so if I leave it ticked a 24mm correction really stuffs up a 85mm shot for example. For fun beach shoots I don’t bring my wb checker board, I just go by eye. When I shootings a brand in a studio with flash bla bla I use a white balance board and a custom set white balance For this, not necessarily

GREAT EDITING TECHNIQUES INFORMATION...quick question...where do find all the beautiful models to work with? LOL Seriously, thanks for this video!
You have new presets coming??? I see that Astia!

I couldn´t concentrate on what you´re saying because of the beautiful model! :) Well done!
Oh no more comments like this 🫤😅
Очень красиво круто
😎
Interesting. But if you use LR web based the controls are different.
Yeah slightly I haven’t used the web based version since it came out
Downloaded your preset pack but the files are empty😂

Number 1 tip. Get a fit model.
Well it my get you more likes, but your photos won’t improve

You can’t fix a bad photo with a good edit period
