I was planning to purchase my 3rd BMW X2 ... then I looked at the Omoda-5. I have now owned a 2023 Omoda-5 BX for 3 months, most current software update in place. (Exactly the same look as this car) My Aussie Omoda-5 isn't badged as CHERY with the stick-on lettering on the rear light ??? (Actually, UK & South Africa doesn't badge as CHERY, just Omoda-5) 1. I absolutely love the front seats, way more comfortable than my previous BMW X2 seats. 2. I've had no pixel problems on the display screen. 3. More comfortable suspension and more powerful acceleration. 4. More body roll than my previous BMW X2 but more comfortable drive all-round. 5. Very happy with interior materials, although right arm-rest could be softer. 6. The exterior design got me interested, the technology, 7yr warranty, 7yr fixed services, 7rs roadside assistance, sold me. 7. Fuel ... Highway 7.1 ... around town 8.1 litre/100km Comparing the Omoda-5 to my 2 previous BMW X2's, I feel I've got 2.5 times the car at lees than 1/2 the price. I give my Omoda-5 Saturn Silver (charcoal metallic, no red accents) BX, 9.5/10 👍
Nice change of gears to reviewing more 'regular traffic' cars! Not only are the Chinese marques coming over en masse, but if you also count the Chinese made cars from Western brands (e.g. Teslas, Volvos, Minis) it is indeed an "invasion". Our local Australian manufacturing - Holden, Ford - would not have stood an iota of a chance.
Do not buy OMODA it is just good for looks only as even for a brand-new car you need to pay extra for paint protection which they apply before delivery. For tyre, interior you need to pay extra🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yes you could add Volvo and Polestar too!

I’m not sure if any brand offers free paint protection (ceramic coating) at this price?
