    Fun times. lol . I have a 12hp Ariens walk behind and 23 HP diesel John Deere tractor with front mount plow, cab and heater. Its the balls snowblowing in the tractor with just a sweatshirt on. It takes me about 2 hours to do my driveway from the barn to the road. The gas blower uses easily twice the gas than the diesel tractor, although diesel is higher in price now than gas.

    That's an awesome blower. I have a ? I always wondered about concrete foundations in the northern parts like Canada and Alaska. Do they crack more from the constant sub zero temps? I would imagine that when building homes they use a special mix of concrete. Have a happy New Year!

    • @ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors
      @ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors 4 роки тому +1

      Yes concrete and pavement both have to be mixed differently in order to reduce cracking. Even then, it’s still a problem most years. When it gets really cold the houses ‘crack’ with the cold.

      Haha!! I’m surprised to hear so many people have them actually! I don’t know of another here in town, but people have commented and sent me pics of theirs from all over Canada, and under different names (cub cadet, craftsman). Home hardware sold them here at one point (15-20 years ago) but that was it. You can buy them new again now in some places. Merry Christmas to you buddy and enjoy carving the turkey with that new knife!! 😉👍🎄

      They are harder to buy these days. Try Cub Cadet. They make the exact same ones only under a different name

    Do you have a roof rack? I got one years ago, never been able to use it till now. I’d not get to the snow for a few months, then I’d have to use a shovel up on the roof. Merry Christmas 🎄 from Muskoka Ontario :)

      My friend next door has a “roof snow shovel” that works well as long as you don’t get any melt on the snow. Is that what you’re referring to i wonder? It’s like a telescopic pole with a cutter and tarp combo? If so, it works pretty good 👍

    • @462ANIMAL
      @462ANIMAL 4 роки тому

      Chuck Porter - Everything Outdoors yes, that’s what I was referring to. They work great if no melt or rain and then freeze between snow falls.

    I've owned 2 Yardman snowblowers over the years and I highly recommend them. They're well built and dependable. Now that I'm in my 70's I put a blower on my lawn tractor. A little easier on the old body. LOL. I'm also from Muskoka Ontario.

      Yeah it clears it 95% of the time. It’s only in a rare case where I don’t chance it. My friend has a 3/4 diesel and does a much better job. Having said that, he gets stuck from time to time as well. It’s packs super hard when we have high winds

    The most snow ive ever seen from a single storm was 9 inches and i live in north west iowa

    • @ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors
      @ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors 4 роки тому +1

      its quite normal for us to receive 3-6 inches on any given day. Of course it does settle down over 3-4 days after it falls. Bigger storms see a foot easily and sometimes up to 2 feet in a blizzard

    If i lived ther that average of 14ft of snow would go to an average of 1ft of snow cause im cursed because storms avoid me within a 20 mile radius ive literally seen huge supercells split in half like 1 mile in front of me go around me and form back together behind me, its really annoying i really wish i could see a huge storm at least once in my life
