I'm so proud of you for making the decision that was best for you. Its sometimes not easy to make those big leaps and change things up but you are doing it and I am so proud!!! Mental health is just as, if not more, important than physical health!
The dystopian plot you used for your creative writing sounds interesting! Proud of you for making a difficult decision. I hope your experiences in the coming semester reassure you that it was the right one 💜
Kudos to you for having the courage to say enough. Your mental health is as equally if not more important than your physical health. Hoping you find your bliss in the coming months.
Another great college vlog Tia! You definitely seem happier and healthier, despite exams, essays, and classes. Hope you had an awesome Christmas break with your family.❤
Lol I actually saw you at Lady Latte in Scarbs 😂 I was thinking, that person looks awfully familiar! Hope you had a nice break! Feel like you got really lucky with the weather. First time in a long time it wasn’t like 40 degrees on Christmas Day!
Congrats on another successful semester completed🙂 I know leaving the team was an extremely hard decision but when it's done for the right reasons that's all that matters, personal health is way more important!!!! Side note, you are absolutely beautiful🙂
Wow. This was so needed- I’m from NZ similar to you went on scholarship at PSU (not an Ivy though!! Can’t imagine the workload) and just made the decision to redshirt this season for mental health. I wish I had the opportunity to completely step away from the cross/track team here (I’m on an athletics based scholarship so can’t withdraw or I have to stop my degree).. your journey gives me strength though knowing the struggle is real, we’re not alone, and we can do hard shit while also making space for ourselves 😎💪🏼❤
Since you got in partly because of your running ability, does leaving the team affect your place at college at all? Or is it a case of once you're in you're in?
Such a big decision but really hoping for you that this gives you some extra time to look after yourself, get in a bit of a better balance with life vs uni stuff, and just be able to enjoy your time at uni a bit more!
ur vlogs are just so nice and peaceful to watch! Also, I'm from Sydney and I really want to apply for college in the US, but I feel like I need to build my extracurricular profile. If you don't mind me asking, what were some of the ones on your list??
thank you zoe! some extracurriculars I did during high school were running, a few other sports, drama, choir & orchestra, and a few different school clubs :))
You seemed to struggle and were worried about how fast you ran - times etc college athletics is another level - it would have been good to talk about that to keep it real
as this video was a last week of classes vlog, I didn't want it to be all about leaving the team and so I wanted to keep that discussion relatively brief. I do plan to speak more in depth about it at some stage, and definitely don't want to shy away from the fact I wasn't happy with how fast I was running at college! but this isn't why I left the team, and so it wasn't included in this more brief convo - I'm more than happy to talk about it in the future :))
Being a D1 athlete at an Ivy is NO JOKE. The academic and athletic demands are intense, especially during midterms and finals. And you had no off-season as a track and cross country athlete! What’s great is that you dont play a team sport like rowing or soccer… you can still run for fun whenever you want (and when you recover from your injury)! Much respect for making this hard decision.

What a facinating subject! I’d love to read your paper that was due Thursday. Have you read the book, Emotional Intelligence?

Tough decision. Hope it gives you time to breathe. You are always really busy in your videos, it can seem a lot just watching!

living away from your family would be really hard!!
Hi tia
You mean summer break, right?
She came back for the Australian summer but it was technically her winter break at uni!
@@charlottesinclair9354 True that.
