I hope one day I will be able to play as nice and clean as you. I got the 2021 SG 61 & the more videos I watch like this makes me even more happy that I got 1
'94 Centenary SG Standard (bat-wing pickguard), ABR1 bridge, hand soldered CTS pots (with generic caps), 490R and a 498T at the bridge...battered and bruised after 30 years of abuse (slight Headstock crack but hanging in there!), wouldn't be without it!.
Fantastic guitar with great sounds and playability. I love mine that I have purchased a few days ago except mine in in the custom colors series Translucent Teal. Same guitar except different color. I already own the same cherry in color except it’s an inspired by Gibson Epiphone. The pickups were terrible and I changed them to PAF exact replicas. I enjoy the Gibson more, it feels real in the hands. The 61, was a new Les Paul and for some reason I like it better in 61’ style than when later on it was just SG Standard. Great video to show off an excellent guitar.
It's not just good, it's great, got me one in 2012 and before that I was just a strat player, I love them both my SG is always in standard tune, and my strat is half step down, there is nothing like a half step down strat they just sound better and play better half step down, and my Jackson is standard and my Charvel is half step, but when I go downstairs to play the first guitar I grab is the SG just love the playability of it.
More wood visible, really. The difference in routing is negligible. There certainly is more wood underneath the pick guard on the ‘61 as the pickup ring is mounted to the body and the Standard has larger routings for the pickups to be pick guard mounted. The vibrational change due to that “can be felt”… but not by much. Most of the vibrational change felt in the hands would be due to the pickups being mounted to something more directly solid on the ‘61, rather than the batwing which you can feel the pickups and pick guard vibrating. At least on most. It’s not a world changing difference, but noticeable. Cheers -Ryan
Best guitar out there today.👍
I like how you started on the Fireball 100 that amp is awesome!
Great job capturing so many different tones! Very cool. Killer playing too man!

Strats and Jazzmasters in Eb Standard tuning = Magic. Telecasters = D Standard lol. Cheers -Ryan
There's a few of these on sale on Facebook marketplace near me for it just around $1000 2004 models. Are they worth going for?
Off topic, what have you been doing to get in shape? Good job
Haha! 3am wake ups followed by hour and a half to two hour workouts. 6 days a week. And of course proper eating. Cheers -Ryan
When you say "more wood" on the '61 with the smaller pickguard, do you mean simply more showing, or is the Standard all routed out underneath?

Where did you get the les paul truss rod cover?
It's a Gibson Historic. So any Gibson dealer will be able to order it. There are other kinds out there, but they mostly look cheap. Cheers -Ryan
For the Mighty Algorithm \m/
What do you mean by “pluckiness?”
In comparison to say a Les Paul, the SG has a bit of a snap from the 12th fret and up. Cheers -Ryan
I hate the LP Classic. Then again, I generally hate push/pull anything. I guess I'm purist.
The SG is more pronounced that he LP. SG is chimer
