there was a person who left me a message who told me the voice of the young lady who sings this song for the home away commercial & i wanted to thank that individual for leading me here as this song, the lyrics as well as the home away commercial touch me deeply. my beloved dog mike passed away on 2/26/15 from cancer and i am still struggling with his loss. he was such a big part of my life, he was my boy, a part of my family and a therapy dog who so graciously saw me through many hard times. he gave me so much love, comfort and support that i could never repay. i miss him so and will love him with all my heart now and always. to the person who gave me ms. prass's name, thank you so much for letting me know and thank you for your kindness. bless you always. you are an angel.

I know the pain and i wish you as much peace and comfort as possible. My 16 Doberman, Maggie, passed away on my bed next to me. Except for her age it was unexpected and it ripped my heart and soul to pieces. I will never be the same. She was my entire life. We shared everything together. Several cross country moves, the death of my wife, and unwanted retirement from a 35 year profession. If it weren't for my dear sons i know i would be unable to soldier on with my life. I miss her so much and want to be with her again wherever that might be. The sadness is overwhelming and never seems to get better. Good luck to you Brian.

thank you for your kind words & please know how sorry i am for the terrible loss of your beloved maggie. please try to find the comfort in knowing what a loving home you gave to her and what a good dog dad you were to her. you will never forget her and she will never forget you either. she knows of your longing and pain but she like anyone else who truly loves you wants you to be happy and live your life to it's fullest, all our dear pets only want that for us, happiness, joy, love and all the best things in life. she will be there for you always and when you feel the deep sadness and need please talk to her and always know that she is on the other side patiently waiting for the day when you will both be reunited once again, never to part. that i truly believe and have faith in. again, my deepest sympathies on the loss of your dear beloved dog. Brian G I believe I might have been the one who left the message. You are so very very welcome. I understand how you feel about losing a beloved pet. It took me quite a while to rebound from losing my little sweetheart, I still miss her. But not too long after, I realized what better way to honor her memory than by adopting another furbaby, giving another animal another chance to a good life in her honor. I have saved 3 little ones so far. Even though Mike is no longer physically with you, you still have his love with you.

To: Brian G. who's Best Friend/Companion/Pet named Mike and to Denny M. who's Best Friend/Companion/Pet (Doberman) named Maggie: I experienced the same, but will not go into detail. But! This is what I want to convey to the both of you. The pets in America died while living with a family I had trusted as I reside in Germany. The pets I had since residing in Berlin, Germany....I still have their nails that I had clipped for trimming. All in individual clear plastic bags with the dates of their clipping and name of pet. When they received their "Key-to-Heaven" (needle to put them to sleep) I held them in my arms as I told each of them how important they were to me, how much I loved them, for them to forgive me, and I asked them to come back to me in spirit. It didn't take long...each one at different times, but they did come back to me...in spirit. One night as I got up from bed (only light was from the tv), walked thru the foyer the eight steps, opened the bathroom door (kept the light out) I sat down and looked thru the foyer at the tv. I immediately saw in the darkness the vague figure of my saluki come from the bedroom thru the foyer and sat down directly outside the door opposite from where I sat. When I finished everything and washed my hands, I came outside the room, called to my saluki (Sahra...pronounced: Sah Ha Rah) to come. I clicked on the light switch on the adjacent wall as I watched to see Sahra come with me. As the light come on...I saw the figure (extreme vague color of my Bambi coloured Sahra) begin to stand and follow me as I was walking towards the bedroom. I saw the figure's color, AND I saw the figure....fade away. She was very much like a cloudy figure of my Sahra....only....she faded away and disappeared into thin air. I just stood there with a feeling of....wwwaait a minute. I DID see Sahra... I went to the bedroom and looked at the bed. There was my Sahra. Lying there waiting for me. I turned my head, looked at the spot where I saw this ghostly figure. Then,...suddenly...I sighed...a sigh of happiness and a huge smile overcame my face as tears...tears of joy/happiness flooded my soul. The next day I went into detail explaining to my husband what had transpired. He asked, and...who was it then? Veja. It was VEJA! She came back to me. She died a tragic/horrible death as I was in Berlin. I saw my Veja..my first pet, my first saluki when I was 35 yrs old. She died in Oct 1989, and I saw her spirit in my present apartment in 2003. Was I happy. YES! One (1) week after 3 Feb 2014, I felt something going against my legs as I sit at my computer..I look down. Nothing, BUT! I immediately smelled my Yorkshire-mix named Twinkle who was put to sleep one week before that on my birthday 3 Feb. So, you see...your best friend will NEVER - EVER leave you....not even death. Their spirit will come back to you and stay by your side until you both meet....in spirit! I know....I've even seen my pets.
Some of the lyrics are wrong in the description, instead of "send a glass" it's "sandy glass" and when it says "pearls in the sink" it's actually "pearls in the sea that will never see rings"
