If I may offer a recommendation I think you may like "The Lights of Prague by Nicole Jarvis". It's very moody and atmospheric, with gorgeous descriptions of Prague. And most of its fantasy is based on actual Czech mythology, which is a change from the usual very Anglo-Saxon fantasy tropes. Maybe it's partially because I'm living in Prague but I really enjoyed it, particularly at the end of a tiring work day, because it's very easy to read, fast paced (especially towards the end) with a good mystery and interesting characters. Here's a pretty quote from the book: "There was something melancholic yet comforting about a silent library. So much knowledge sat unlearned. Books without readers were only paper."
Experiencing Edinburgh through your lens has been such a treat! 🥰 I was there for a couple of days back in 2015 and completely fell in love with the city, it felt like home right away, I promised myself I would go back for a longer stay in the future! Sazed was my favourite character from Era 1 too, and I 100% agree: that ending deserves a slow clap! Hope you're doing well 💚✨
"Fortuna Sworn" sounds super interesting for me and in my book's taste. I'm adding it to the TBR. I love watching your vlogs in the lazy Saturday morning with my coffee, perfect day's start! ❤️ P.S. I love your t-shirt with mushrooms and stars! 😍
Love this vlog! Ughh Edinburgh is soooo beautiful! Definitely want to read “I hear the Sunspot” now! Seems interesting and I don’t know many books displaying hearing impairments like I have.
Hi Ashleigh! Seriously considering reading Fortuna Sworn because you love it so much! Also I purchased my first notebook to make a reading journal-so excited for it! Always makes me happy to see your smiling face! Tfs🦌
That is a great reading journal, Mine is just a spiral and I draw up graphs within and all that but I write down ratings and genres. I don't write down reviews for them, I save that for my goodreads and bookstagram personally. But I also write down what I would read for readathons and so on if I were to participate, like I did the same for pollarthon, I don't exactly remember what it was, you recently did a video on which I really struggled to think of reads for.
Really glad you enjoyed the ending of Hero of Ages - I was a mess at the end 😅 and you are tempting me to read Fortuna Sworn even though I have never read a fantasy fae romance but there’s always a first time for everything! Love the reading journal and the beautiful Edinburgh scenery - I’m hoping to visit this summer 🦌
I have the first four books so I am thinking because it will be a while until book 5 comes so do I start reading now 🤔 I am really looking forward to reading it all
With the whole Villains series, have you watched a film called The Flatliners with Julia Roberts and Keifer Sutherland it first came out in 1990 then was apparently revamped in 2017…when I read Vicious it just felt like a reimagining of the original film. If you get bored and want to check out the film definitely go with the original as I really could see this throughout Vicious 🤗
🦌I only read the Mistborn trilogy because my bf wanted me to, and kept insisting that it got better over the three books. I rated every single book a flat "meh" 3 stars, and I'm never reading a Sanderson book again. LMAO. Sazed is definitely my favorite character, though.
If you like reading about trauma of characters, please read the rest of the All Souls series by Deborah Harkness so far! Books 2 and 3 have a lot of traumatic things happen to the main characters! I’m almost finished my umpteenth reread of book 3 and I’m sooooooooo in love with the series again! 🦌 🦌 🦌
I couldn't get past the mediocre writing style of Fortuna Sworn but I am interested to hear if the writing has improved in the sequels. I wouldn't mind pushing through the first book if the writing has improved. Please let me know if you have read them.

This sounds right up my alley, putting it on my TBR! :D Thank you for sharing!
🦌 I simply adore your jumper at the beginning of the video!! 😍
Thank you so much for sharing about I Hear the Sunspot. I recently lost all hearing in my left ear, so I need more books like this in my life
My favorite thing is how you were saying how chaotic this vlog felt and then your camera died during your outdo 😂🦌
🦌 ... I've gotta get some better emojis 🤣🤣🤣.. Great vlog!! I ❤ what you do, Ashleigh!! You do it well! 😁😘

Okay but that is such a fat chubby bird and I LOVE HIM!?

This was yet another fun and immersive V-log Ashleigh- the sights of Scotland looked gorgeous and what a cosy book shop. 🦌📚
Love the wallart at 1:53, so beautiful.

Deer emoji (can't find it on computer lol) I love your vlogs so much
🦌 I’m curious as to what you thought the ending of Hero of Ages would be? Sazed was also my fav
I thought the reincarnation trope/people didn’t actually die theme would be a thing but was also like…surely Sanderson wouldn’t 😂
🦌Have a great weekend!

hi watching this in april lmao
I’ve been thinking about picking up fourtuna
Does the guy on the cover of Hero of Ages remind anyone else of Jensen Ackles from Supernatural or is it just me? 🦌
I think it looks like Taylor Swift 😂
