I will never understand some of Seth's lines of thought on sideboarding. Against Naya Dinos going down binding and not seal away while at the same time being worried about vivian reid.
I think he's considering multiple things at once and he can't say everything. Maybe he was considering that flash is better against hasty dinos. Maybe he was trying to keep the curve functionally the same (I'd have to go back and check on that one). He mentioned one thing on his mind but we don't know if it's everything.
Settle vs. Cleansing Nova is weird. A lot of it depends on the opponent. If you run into experience players they tend to endlessly play around Settle, which makes it lose some value.
also in the matchups where you urgently need settle, by the time you can actually cast it, your life is so low the opponent only needs to attack with one or two creatures to threaten lethal. there isn't enough removal in the deck that you can afford to just keep stalling without fully wiping their board
I had a build before rotation and it was 2 fumigate, 2 cleasning nova, 3 settle. This version should have more settle main to mill the lands faster but should still have 1 cleasning in main.
I started magic during origins and my first deck is budget version of tutelage+ascendancy with bunch of taplands and full removal, and very limited of card draw...literally only tormenting voice and that particular deck manage to tilt almost everyone in my LGS...tutelage rotating out really makes me super sad This deck reminds me back then when tutelage is still legal, so I'm hyped to build it...and since i still have my seal away/settle the wreckage/ixalan binding/search for azcanta/teferi...i can see how my deck gonna be ravaging players in my LGS once again
Target your opponent with Induced Amnesia? That's effectively mill 9 with Drowned Secrets. Not sure if it would work in standard, but in sealed I was able to use Induced Amnesia as a way to win the prerelease with mill. Also my own tinkering, I like the idea of splashing into red rather than black so you can run Firemind's Research since it doubles up as both additional card draw and removal. Depending on how that goes, you also can play Goblin Electromancer to speed up your other spells or League Guildmage to amp up the card draw.
I've been successfully piloting U/B Mill in my meta (Jeskai control, U/B mill, Boros aggro, Izzet Burn, Golgari Midrange). Granted, a lot of non-control matchups don't swing in the decks favor until post-SB. It only costs about $100 on TCG and you can cut that in half by excluding Watery Grave.
i love how i always just barely win with mill, it always seems so perfectly balanced. like no matter what you're playing against, you only ever get to win in spots where if your opponent gets to their next combat or main phase you'd lose. but the math just precisely adds up so that you get one more turn than they do

You use mind funeral with extirpate to fish out fetch/duals. Mostly opponent would be laughing because i played mill.. untill they actualy got milled or hit in the face t2 with a dread haha Mill
No Riverwise Augur? The brainstorm Merfolk with even just one corrosion is a mill 6 with a 2/2 body attached that also triggers the other enchantment. Also noticed there’s no mention of Patient Rebuilding. Isn’t that card just a perfect finisher roughly equivalent to refers as it both mills and draws a massive number of cards ?
It is kind of hard to make a non-budget mill in current standard as all your actual mill cards engines are cheap cards. Of course the control side cards like Teferi and Wreckage can buff the price but not beyond an expensive budget deck in my experience. For example I made a mono-U mill for fun with no intention of making it budget and it is a 30$ deck.(obviously it is super janky).
I was pretty confident our opponent had a counter (since they pretty much always have one). The hope was that we get get them to tap down during their turn (since we weren't dead on board anyway) with the Settle, and then clear the board the following turn with Cleansing Nova. That weird copy enchantment ruined our day though.
I've been playing UB Mill on Arena with very similar results. Stall, stall, stall, mill. Cleansing Nova being just a better sweeper than ritual of soot or golden demise might be the best reason to go into white. Teferi... maybe...

Siren Stormtamer counters Settle the Wreckage and the opponent had three of them, so Settle does not work in this situation. This is why Seth earlier notes that Settle is the worst wrath to have in that situation.
What would you suggest to take out for the Planeswalker and Nexus? I know you said you did not like induced amnesia and I can see why but what else would you take out?I have a very similar version to this tech and I want to make it better and more competitive as I'm just getting into that
I think that Patient Rebuilding is a bit slow for this build. It could be great in a more controlling style mill deck, but in a turbo-mill deck like this it's just slow and clunky.

every time i've tried to build the deck in GRN it's just gotten rolled over by almost everything. everything aggro kills you, everything control kills you, and assassin's trophy kills you. i guess i built it all wrong though, i tend to overestimate my deck's mulligan consistency

Plays a bit different than the standard version though I don't know how good UW mill would work since it's definitely slower. But maybe the list above gives you some ideas nevertheless.
I think that you can do something similar, but you get a lot of powered up options. Sphinx's Tutelage is a better Psychic Corrosion, Think Twice is a mostly better Radical Idea (or extra Radical Ideas as least) and Jace is pretty crazy since it draws so many cards each turn.
I want to see someone play Sultai Mill. There's a really nice combo between Vraska Golgari Queen and Induced Amnesia, where you can sacrifice IA to Vraska's plus and get all your cards back!

Another mill ideia is to run Droned Secrets and one copy of Nexus of Fate. Then you try to card draw and mill yourself as much as you can until your last card is the Nexus of Fate. From then you just go infinite turns and mill your opponent

idk it's a good card but you kinda want the draw spells to be blue and all. mission briefing was also suggested but it costs double blue and you play a lot of colorless lands and plains. then there's blink of an eye, but bouncing cards isn't great when you don't have counterspells to hit them when they recast the creature. at that point you may as well play sleep or time of ice since you're just stalling anyway. which is fine as long as your mill enchantments are on the board already. maybe time of ice is actually not bad. in a lot of the games in this video the opponent carefully paced their threats. he was forced to use settle and cleansing nova against a single creature multiple times, for example. in those circumstances time of ice is pretty good, it ends up buying you a lot more turns than cleansing nova or settle do, except against aggro, token, tribal, etc. decks. of course it can't target carnage tyrant so it's probably more of a sideboard card. not really sure what the optimal card is, but i think mission briefing is probably the most consistent despite being the weakest card in the deck
Maybe mission briefing double cost isnt that important since we are playing 2 color and you only want to cast briefing midgame or endgame, so most of the time when you are casting briefing, you already have sufficient source Yeah, i can see almost all his opponent pacing themselves and not overcommitted to the board...which make this deck more trustworthy since it was used against a pretty good player, not some potato who throw all their threat on the field mindlessly

I'm not sure why you didn't Nova with Negate backup against Mono-U Tempo when they had three big dudes on board with only two mana open. You literally only get blown out by double Spell Pierce there.
Please try a deck that uses Drowned Secrets and Nexus of Fate to mill yourself first, and once you have only Nexus of Fate in the deck, mill your opponent !!!

You still get the mill kill. UW Teferi wins by exiling all of the opp's lands then using Teferi's minus on himself while the opponent decks out.
You can also add a black splash for a sideboard Unmoored Ego to have a win condition against opposing Nexus of Fate decks.

Fleet Swallower is a cool card, it's just incredibly slow (and tends to die before it gets to attack even once).

I'm not sure why you didn't Nova with Negate backup against Mono-U Tempo when they had three big dudes on board with only two mana open. You literally only get blown out by double Spell Pierce there.
Please try a deck that uses Drowned Secrets and Nexus of Fate to mill yourself first, and once you have only Nexus of Fate in the deck, mill your opponent !!!
