So imma singer and i can rap a little and i prefer both when i sit down and listen to music and write. Missy Elliott can do it. Trey Songz can do it. Drake may not have the range but he was a rapper first before he added singing to his songs when came out. Hes decent with what he does. He could be better but hes no Usher or Justin Timberlake that can sometimes give you a flow and go back to singing. Drake vibes with the singers. But can also rap if he needs to. Also, singers over the years since waaay before we were born, have lend their vocals for the background. They can be listed as feature if they wanted to but sometimes, the artist can say nah, leave me out. Its really the artist decision. Its not disrespect or anything. Alot of songs have background vocals from familiar artists on their songs that you prolly jam to growing up or currently. You just wouldnt know it. I sing too and i like just adding background vocals and harmonies to the song and vibing with it. Thats what singers do. Tank, you Tank. OG Tank, he wrote alot of songs back in the day for a ton of artists. Marques Houston, Kelly Rowland, Chris Brown, Jamie Foxx and Tank lend their voices to each others songs on each others albums. They work closely. Its just a singers niche. Not every artist wants to have a verse. Just harmonies and ad libs to give the gritt to a song
