Any money that has been borrowed in the name of Kenyan Citizens and has not been approved through parliament and also has not been attached to any economic development is odious debt. A big chunk of the trillions of shillings is odious since it doesn't follow the constitution and it never funded any development projects. A whooping 6 trillion and above!!!!
If you get other videos of Jimi Wanjigi interviews you'll here him say how much we make, we can generate income it's just mishandled and that's the sad part...
It's not that people don't want to pay for this loans , almost 70% of the money was stolen . Kenyans didn't get value for their money and they are still expected to pay. Ruto and Uhuru where on a looting pree.
That is the same for all countries in the global south ...IMF and world bank schemes have existed since time and memorial go read a book called the economic hit man.
Kenya owe international lenders money and no one dispute that but which country in the world does not owe money to international lenders ? This guy is just trying to endear himself to Kenyans but majority know his not telling the truth and his just power hungry and nothing more. Everything his saying is just propaganda.
I am an economist and agree with Jimmy. He is quoting figures that may be verified. You can not lie and grtbaway with it in Kenya today, especially with the hawkish GenZs eyes. It's true economic growth and development is mostly driven by supply side (production) economics. The demand side only helps in addressing short-term problems like recession, etc, through fiscal stimuli. A big government only "kills" the private sector, which is the engine of growth. This guy is honest and dependable.
@@muragegitari6052 l don't think there is any Kenyan out there who doesn't know that corruption is an issue in Kenya today. But to come up with over 6 trillion shillings as the amount of money borrowed but no one knows where the money went or did is laughable to say the least. He thought he can raise emotions whilst forgetting his part of the cartels this country must get rid of to start a new chapter. As Kenyans continue to advocate for better governance, Jimmy Wajinge should not be part of that new start as his part of the cartels that has rocked havoc in the system of this country.
It's so easy to identify the older generation like you coz most of you have no problem suffering in silence coz change is so uncomfortable for you guys
@ichooseviolence2532 If you are responding to my comment, you need to know one thing. It's not all older people who don't want to change. I agree with GenZs entirely. But facts are facts. You can not change that. Just because I agree with what Jimi is saying does not mean I am stuck in the past. Some of us understand the world a lot; the whole wide world. We know how the West works. I did not say Jimi is a saint. But if what he says are facts, they facts.

The problem is corruption the govt collects more than enough revenue
Kenya's issues being discussed internationally. Let us now hear what Nigeria issues are.
It's better to be discussed world wide so that when we say 'ruto must go'they will understand us
What is climate funding for when we are broke? Nkt! We can do whatever we can do climate stuff without loans for now.
Can IMF , World Bank, and China tell Kenyans how much we owe them? We kenyans are the ones being taxed.
Who qualiies to be a president? Wanjigi is also a politician. Everyone is eligible to vie for presidency.

@BillyJames-l6x Kenya is not all those countries. We are better than that and demand better.

You missed the point? Question is how much do we owe and to whom? Won’t you as a taxpayer want to know the answers?
