I would play an entire cod game with modern premises like this. MW2 remake is doing a pretty good job but what made the original COD4 so damn good was the edginess at the time of portraying the GWOT, while most big titles were WW2.
They could have gotten away with the “raw edgy feeling” if they went for ww3 rather than us preventing it. I wish the missles did launch and there were missions with large combined forces rather than you doing the stupid solo shit. The first mission in this new campaign really spoiled me cus i thought the rest were gonna be like it. I want a cod that does warfare on a massive scale. We’ve seen bits and pieces in mw2/mw3 but i wanna see new york under invasion again bruhhhh

it would be cool to have a whole game from the eyes of a mexican special forces guy fighting cartels. or maybe alternate between mexican agent and american border patrol. it would be interesting as long as they stay objective and real and don't lean on either side of the political propaganda.
Something I like is that (iirc from my playthrough) you *can* get through this without harming a single civilian, you just have to keep your gun aimed at each one to prevent them from drawing theirs. It’s pretty neat.

The one I pass to go into Mexico to visit family is pretty desolate though, and there’s another pretty dangerous checkpoint I’ve crossed a couple of times. (By dangerous I mean the roads are really empty and it’s like an hour or 2 of driving through ranch land. Cartel patrols can stop you and you’d be on your own)
You’d be surprised. People think you can just “hop it” but there’s 24/7 surveillance on it at all times a long with regular patrols. The moment you even come close to it on either side, eyes are already on you.

Maybe some people can say that this game was great, but I don’t think this level was ever great how I’m not sure what the hell the creators of the college duty franchise are thinking. Allow an easy access would be a way to go. Also, the fact that the cartel they cross over into the United States is wandering in a neighborhood and these guys that are going after the cartel are wandering in the neighborhood to claim to be special forces. Yeah, both of these guys will be fucked. The reason I say that and a lot of I think people forget this part the second amendment is in the constitution of the United States, the right to bear arms. It seems like the writers and people who made this game did not think this through. I mean, if I was in their shoes, I’m pretty sure I would be careful. Why game developers can make a better more realistic AI that feels like you are catually interating or dealing with real people and also get rid of the stupid bullet sponge dynamics.
I like how they showed civilians and local police. How they brought the war basically to the streets of southern Texas instead, to a local trailer park and town instead of always being some war zone or deserted city or mansion.
