- "Born too late" was the biggest hit of the group of American girls called "The Poni-Tails". It was written by Charles Strouse and Fred Tobias. The song reached the number 5 in the list of singles of the United Kingdom, the number 7 in the Billboard Hot 100 and the number 11 in the table of R & B in 1958.
The video was created from a short movie of 1952 called "Young Man's Fancy".

Brilliant record from 1958, the first year I starting listening to American radio stations from our home in Nassau, Bahamas.
When I see these old videos it makes me feel like I lived on another planet at one time. Man, the 2020s are really a drag . Too much noise and BS. These songs and videos take me back to a time when things were cool, normal, slower paced. Less technology, much cooler cars and the best music, 1954-63.

I am assuming this video was made purposely to match the song, the young brunette had a huge crush on the taller young man but he never noticed!!! I used to have a crush on youngest of the Lennon sisters seeing them on the Lawrence Welk show weekly!!! I was 6 and she was 12 way out of my league and she lived in LA and me in Tucson!!

I was born right as this music started in 1957, my parents liked it and played it every day. I remember day dreaming about my babysitter Cathy who was 12 at the time, just one kiss would have sent me to heaven!!! I was age 5 then. Cathy would play these songs at full volume, the elderly lady next door having fits over it!!!
