- Named after Cleveland's premiere comic hero, the bright red and blue of Superman ice cream is a perennial kid favorite. It's primarily available in three states: Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin. So what is the mysterious flavor?

I have never tried because in my country the superman flavor doesn't exists, nobody has even heard of this flavor, this flavor it's unknown in my country
Michigander here and this ice cream is the BEST! Created in my home state and brings all the feels of great childhood memories.

Weird. I lived in Cleveland for 11 years and never saw it. I did, however, have it as a kid in Tennessee. My folks told me it was just vanilla with food coloring, but I knew better. Thanks for confirming and for the walk down memory lane!

Superman ice cream is a distinctly Michigan thing, as is evident by the fact that the red portion of the ice cream is Faygo Red Pop, which is a Michigan original.
Some places in Cleveland may serve it but it needs to be corrected attributed to its birthplace of Michigan.
i used to have it all the time when i lived in georgia
it was also down here in texas though i can only ever remember it coming from kmart and i am not sure they are the same flavor wise since kmarts have been gone for some time but the name and colors were the same

Grew up in Chicago, never had Superman ice cream with the yellow being lemon. Sounds good but ours was always vanilla cherry and blue moon. Kmarts snack bar use to have the best one that I remember as a kid.

I was born and partially raised in Michigan and have lived in California for 17 years now. My boyfriend spent hours online trying to buy me even the tiniest container but just couldn't find any that sold to anywhere in the country. I'm so sad. I've been craving it for years.
If heaven had a taste, it would be blue moon ice cream. I have not had it in over a decade, and now I crave it every single day.
I live in New Jersey, and they have it here at Walmart. Maybe you could find it there!

I went to Belmont Park in San Diego and found a shop that sells superman ice cream and I was so stoked because I didn't think i could find it around here.
As a Michigander we fully take responsibility for the invention of Superman ice cream, a history buff would know house of flavors in Luddington has the best and the original.

You can order it from ice cream source....the original flavors.... Blue moon, red pop, and lemon. It only comes in 3 gallon drum but sooo worth it. Got it for my bday.

The one I had as a kid is likely similar to Superscoop by Hudsonville Ice Cream. The description closely matches my memory of it.
I'm from Utah and I used to have it all the time as a kid. They still sell it here but they call it playdough ice cream.
I don't know the flavor but I always tell people that it tastes like childhood. It's very nostalgic.
I have blurry memories of me eating this ice cream once and liking it, but in pretty sure at some point It fell on the buss of taxi we were.
When I was kid my school trip field to mall, my teacher told me: “What you want kind of ice cream? Superman?” I said, “yes! I love Superman”. Few minutes later she bring it to me and I noticed ice cream color blue red and yellow, I said “what is that?”, she said “that’s superman” I was so confused because I thought ice cream Superman symbol or head Superman. I was very disappointed. Why it called Superman? 😡

Some places just tell me its Vanilla with multiple food colors and that's what I thought for years until I had different versions of it

This is my favorite ice cream flavor I could live of it!!! I think I first tried it in North Carolina and it was really good but I haven't had some in a while I'm in Tennessee and I sadly have no idea where to get it from but its summer break so maybe downtown has it!

I came accross something very close to this in northeast Ohio called super hero by perrys. It's not exactly the same but I still taste that fruity pebble. Taste like a dream, only other place I've found any is a chinese restraunt and our drive inn movie theater, those places sold the actual superman I believe.

You can get it off icecreamsource, it's called Superscoop by Hudsonville Ice Cream or they sell BlueMoon ice cream by itself. Just expensive for shipping. Although probably best to buy it in middle of winter.

In Florida there used to be a place that sold Superman ice cream but sadly they permanently closed and I can’t find any where else that they sell it here in Florida 😭❤️ it was sooo good tho!

Some places that have “Superman” ice cream have just plain vanilla with food coloring (I’m always so disappointed when I find those places). The real Superman ice cream the video is talking about is so much better and has several flavors in it. Keep your eye out for the real thing!

I grew up in the 80's on the Gulf Coast, in Southeast Texas, and this was my go to flavour back then. In fact it was all anyone under 13 ate during the summer back then. So, sorry internet and Michigan natives, but it is WILDLY inaccurate to claim it's just a Michigan/Midwest thing.
I would venture a guess that Superman ice cream has spread everywhere Kmart has been. The bright colouring belies the subtlety of the fruit flavours, which make this ice cream the most refreshing flavour you can find on a summer day without jumping to sherbet.

It was crested in Michigan. Faygo and Vernors pop( not soda...) are Detroit creations. Yes all 50 states get to enjoy the flavor but it's Michigan creation just like the muscle car. So you're welcome! From the Wolverine State💪.
