@@yoshe2” JoJo , you were fifth in the competition, you’re fifth on the pyramid, sometimes you act like a five year old. Maybe fives you’re lucky number…. or not so lucky number.” - Abby Lee Miller (season 5)
She had a grooming allegation herself earlier in the year after her dance troupe of minors split. No evidence of but financial abuse and over working the girls the kids have receipts.
Now I’m not in favor of jojo at all but she was basically raised on tv then was continuously in the spotlight bullied by adults for acting childish even though she was a child and she was constantly around people like Shane Dawson and Colleen! I just feel like this is more a victim not recognizing that they too had been exploited because she’s been exploited for basically as long as she can remember! I don’t think what she said is ok in the slightest but her condoning Colleen’s behavior could be a reflection of how normal this behavior was around her as a kid. It’s not good and I’m sad disappointed and angry by what she said just wanted to talk about this.
@@victorlannister5606 exactly this! Hollywood and “the industry” is FULL of disgusting behaviour like Colleen’s. I’m not saying her feelings aren’t valid, but her opinion on the allegations is not based on a healthy reference. I hope she can see the situation from another point of view at some point
She literally says "it's important to not blur the friend/fan line" and then the next anecdote is about how she met Colleen because she herself was a fan initially... Cognitive dissonance
I think it’s important to note Jojo herself has dated people who are fans of hers. She probably doesn’t understand power dynamics and how easily someone can lose their agency when the person with power in the relationship wields that power to gain some type of advantage that only really benefits them.
Says it’s a sensitive topic and then does everything to characterize what the victims are saying as lies. I barely understood anything she was trying to say other than that tbh
I think the worse feeling, as a parent, is to watch a child who is inching toward adulthood, rationalize their abuse and defend their abuser. It feels so cult to me that I get scared for them.
I have survived a lot of abuse and this is still something I struggle with. I struggle to let myself dislike the people that hurt me. My gut reaction is to try and rationalize away their actions. It’s really hard to break free from )^:
My thoughts exactly. She’ll probably realize it mid-late 20’s when she’s still younger than Colleen was but wouldn’t be able to imagine herself befriending kid content creators
I think she's desensitized to being surrounded by groomers long before she met Coleen :/ I feel like she's in denial because for her, adults were befriending her from such a young age and she was literally always put in spotlight for adult's amusement on top of also being used to being berated by adults. So to face Coleen as a problem would force her to face all the other adults that have taken advantage of her as a child...
I’m a year older than Colleen and I cannot imagine befriending a 12 year old when I was 28! I couldn’t even imagine being friends with a 12 year old at 15 years old. It’s beyond bizarre that she had friendships with kids/teens. Being kind to them at shows or having a one off conversation when meeting them is fine but joining chat groups with them, sending them panties, discussing and doing inappropriate stuff is just so disgusting.
Yeah I'm 27 and have a 12 year old cousin who I don't know how to have conversations with nevermind befriend, I'd love to know more about how that even works. Do you need to have the emotional intelligence of that age range for that to feel comfortable in her case? For her to not consider it predatory I feel like theres emotional immaturity involved, but also the content isn't innocent either. At the same time that age range is full of out of place se xual jokes so idk the topic of predators gets intriguing causing I think they're all emotionally suppressed and that leaves them relating to people who are emotionally at the same level as them which is largely children. You might find an adult that's a match and have a relationship there but still have an attraction se xual or platonic with children.
I'm 16 and I'm not even that "friendly" with my 11 years old cousin. I love her but we have nothing in common....I'm confused on what a 28 yo has in common with a 12 yo..
Fr, I'm 20 and don't even have my 16 yr old cousins' phone numbers. Once it's college worrying time, then yeah I'll give em advice and support if we text. Other than that if I wasn't already in the situation like a tutor, coworker, I wouldn't talk to someone in a completely different age group outside of that environment
EXACTLY I was born the same year as Colleen and wtf was she doing being besties with a 12 year old? What do you have in common other than Colleen having other “children friends” which is suspicious!!!!!
Jojo has been groomed her WHOLE life, by her mother, by her former dance teacher and by Colleen. She’s so wrapped up in it that she’s not going to realise for a long time.
@RoseyVampshe's physically 20 not mentally 20, she's probably like 5 years behind because of how much she's been groomed by all the adults in her life
Could not agree more with your comment. By the sounds of it it appears JoJo might be one of the tragic cases where the abused become the abuser. It is heart wrenching and upsetting the messages she is sending to all her young fans simply by supporting and standing by the people she does.
Just because a groomer was kind to YOU doesn’t mean that they didn’t groom other children. Just because an abuser didn’t abuse you doesn’t mean they didn’t abuse other people. Jojo needs to understand that. Hopefully she does someday as she probably has many child fans and the message she puts out there is very harmful and disgusting tbh.
yea, Jojo for the most part was more famous/successful than Colleen at that time so obviously a narcissist like Colleen would view her as a valuable asset and prioritize being nice to her
@@Myarose2000 VERY good point ☺️ when we throw around such terms so lightly they loose all meaning, especially when used incorrectly and without understanding the actual meaning. Thank you for pointing that out!
Man this disgusts me considering people such as colleen have had access to her since she was a minor. Sadly because of JoJo being groomed by all of these monstrosities, she's just in denial :/
I was trying to figure out a way to say it. You said it so well. Not forgiving her by any means, but this is the other side of the coin from Adam. He knows what happened to him, she doesn't see it and instead defends it.
A big part of the problem is Jojo was raised in the most extreme version of the family vlog culture and has been treated as inappropriately too adult for her age for her entire life. Colleen to her is much less extreme than the extreme situation this young person was put in as a child. Victims aren't always the best advocates because certain inappropriate behaviors and patterns have been normalized to many victims.
It's really sad. And as a victim I agree - I have not always been the best advocate due to my own trauma affecting my views. After years of therapy I've come out at the other side, and luckily had good and gentle people around me to help me to grow.
@@KaliDurga108she could also be choosing ignorance, to an extent, because she’s her mum. The attachment kids have to their parents is biological. Sometimes a parent can be horrendously abusive in every way but a part of the child still loves them, and sometimes if they haven’t unpacked their trauma yet- their mind will choose to hide from the abusive aspects if that makes sense. For some people, they’re still at the stage where they can’t even touch the idea of their parent being abusive because that means they have to confront the trauma. Jojo’s still young, I really hope she can start a journey of self discovery and grow
Jojo needs extensive therapy so she can realize that she, too, is a victim. If self destruction was a person,it would also be repulsed by Jojo’s response.
Jojo’s also super engaged into the same kind of content as Colleen, minus the grooming and everything else. Her entire audience is marketed to kids, and she’s remained dressing, acting, and making dozens of products directed towards kids. I think she doesn’t want to accept it not just because of Colleen’s grooming of her and their ‘friendship’, but the fact that it would also direct Jojo to have to look at her own content and who she’s directing it to. Specifically regarding her continuous platforming and public friendships with James, Shane, and others.
@@chika2724I think what makes JoJo different from the other people you named is that JoJo really didn't choose to make children's content, she was child when she started making content. She also really tries not to make appropriate content for her audience and that also included her waiting to come out until her Nickelodeon contract expired. So I don't think it's really fair to group her into the people she's supporting, because she's not.
@@whimsikal1632but she is the same. Her start was different because of the circumstances, but she is still defending and actively being public friends with people that have been proven to be child predators and/or problematic people. She publicly defends and hangs out with Shane, James, Colleen, Tana, and so many others. Her still making videos that pander to a younger audience is a problem considering the company she keeps. If she truly wanted to separate herself from her child audience she would start a second channel and in the announcement make it clear the content is not directed towards children. She is still very much part of the problem regardless of how she got there.
If your response to predatory grooming allegations is basically “it’s not true! I’ve been best friends with this adult woman since I was 12!” then the grooming tactics have 100% worked. I bet Colleen paid Jojo to defend her. Or at the least manipulated her… ya know, as she does
watching her squirm her way through this line of questioning is EXCRUCIATING to watch. if you're going to defend predators, girlie, at least prepare a statement first.
@@EmeraldEyes3713 first time im watching a clip of howie's podcast in totality and he is a surprisingly good host and interviewer!! he was top tier here imo
@@EmeraldEyes3713 for sure! we love a creator that actually learns from their mistakes. the way he carefully prodded jojo here was seriously hard investigative strategy not everyone can do I'm like so impressed lmao. good for him fr fr fr!
This isn’t the first time Jojo has sided with a child abuser. She has publicly sided with Abby Lee Miller because what she did to her “wasn’t that bad”. Meanwhile there is DOCUMENTED abuse all throughout the show as well. She went on a rant on social media when another mom said a different teacher mistreated her kid. Jojo only sees her experience as valid
It truly is the same thing!! Jojo is indeed the only girl from dance moms who keeps in contact with Abby while many of the other girls have opened up to the public about the abuse that they had endured, and yet Jojo will defend Abby to the ends of the earth…
Theres something so peaceful and nice about the back and forth between Josh and Adam, it makes you believe in the good that humans can posses. Josh is the most beautiful example of what my mum always used to say "its not the mistake that counts, its what you do afterwards". It might sound cringe but we all really do mistakes, you never know what youll do when you get put into different scenarios. What makes you a good person is how you handle it afterwards
It is never okay for an adult to constantly “hang out” with a 12 year old. Of course colleen was kind to her….that’s how grooming starts. Jojo is old enough to understand that Colleen is a groomer.
Sometimes it takes a long time to unpack and process the grooming. I have sympathy for her, but what she's saying is completely out of line and ignorant. It's even worse that she doubles down to defend and support other awful people.
she also still loves and supports abby lee miller while all the other dance moms girls haven’t been in contact with her for years since she traumatized them
To me she sounds like a younger then her age person being asked to give an 'off the cuff' personal statement that will be attached to her, her 'professional self', and it will be used against her, so she's giving the best 'middle ground answer' she had - which is possibly not as immature as ~you'd~ think. Life is complicated. People are complicated. She's a young person that 'grew up' with this adult she trusted. She's still somewhat an outsider, looking in. People think it's easy, and expect OTHERS to pick a side. To know what's right. Like demanding a 12 year old pick who's 'right' in the divorce because one is 'no fun' and the other cheated, pick which one they love. It's easy for YOU to demand it, you think and possibly do have all the facts, and adults understanding. And at that stage, you're lacking empathy and understanding for them, and almost objectifying them, treating them like a pawn. See, they chose are side. Life and people are not simple. We observers need to remember we are only reacting to what we are being told and show. There are the three sides to every story. Her side, his side, and the truth, as they say.
It's so clear. She said on another podcast that she feels way older than people her age. I'm sure she believes that and I'm sure adults have told her that exact sentiment. She definitely has a lot of adult responsibility but she is in no way at a level of emotional maturity required to assess issues like this. Her judgement is clouded by years of grooming. It's frustrating to see from the outside.
She’s literally been surrounded by the most toxic adults since she was 12 and it’s been wild seeing how warped her world view is. She’s at the age where you start to unpack stuff like that or squish it down forever and become one of the shitty adults herself. I hope she takes the first route even though it would be a very unpleasant journey to take.
@@spacecat7864 Honestly, it takes a lot of people even longer then that, so give it 10 more years when people start having kids and the realisation of age and mortality sets in.
Colleen use to say “I don’t understand why I’m nominated for the kids choice awards” ….. as if she didn’t know 90% of her audience were children!!!! Like bye
It kills me when people dismiss other people’s experiences just because theirs wasn’t the same. It’s like when someone is accused of SA and the people around them are like “I don’t believe it. They were never inappropriate with me/around me.” Aaah yes, because everything is dictated by you. How dare you! JoJo should’ve never been allowed to be around CB, but this doesn’t excuse the crap she’s spewing
She did the same thing awhile back when Christi from dance moms (I think?) made a TikTok alluding to Abby being rly nasty towards her and Chloe on purpose with the intent to cause emotional harm and so on, and Jojo made a TikTok in response basically being like "well I didn't have that experience so it mustn't be true" or some bullshit like that. I was never a fan of Jojo, but I always kinda rooted for her and her success, but that was a huge turnoff
@@marliewarhaftWooow. I never watched the show. Every clip I will saw had that lady yelling at the kids, so I refused to watch. Given her response here, I can’t say what you said is surprising.
@@Raya-ir4tmFrom the clips Adam showed, I wouldn’t doubt it either, but going out of your way to denounce the experiences of others that you know deep down are true…. It’s terrible. It may be an explanation, but definitely not an excuse.
I think Inabber made a really good point in his latest video when he said that Miranda Sings isn’t really a character, it’s just Colleen’s excuse to get away with saying things that are not acceptable and behaving in ways that aren’t acceptable.
"We became friends when I was 12 and I idolized her" is one hell of a defense against grooming lmao I feel like I'm waiting for someone to pop in from out of frame and go ¡attenzione pickpocket!
@ultimatebaddie No, but if you are talking about grooming allegations and your defense is, "But I've known her since I was a child," it sounds really bad. Also, there is a difference between spending time with a minor and being "best friends" with a minor.
NO but if you have her history and all of a sudden find out a 12 year old jojo was besties with a 28 year old Colleen?? What the fuck do you have in common with a 12 year old
@ultimatebaddie Common sense.. please use it. If youre a random adult (thats not a family member or an guardian ) and want to be best friends with some random kid at the park.....(in this case if you are 10 and you saw idk some popular tiktoker thats in their 20+ ...) then wants to be friends and spend time with you...doesnt that sound creepy? tell you about all their relationship drama etc...nothing right? that doesnt scream strange.
People call her young because she has feigned this super young innocent character her whole career. Which makes her friendship with Colleen even creepier. She targeted her because of her little girl persona. Of course the ballingers have always been nice to her…she’s a millionaire. They’re not gonna be rude and ruin their platform of children who love Jojo.
Yeah but I would say her persona was true to her, it's not like she's was an adult having a persona, she herself was a literal child most of her career, like she was a little girl that is why her persona was like that but rest of critique I agree with.
It’s so frustrating because all this proves is that Jojo is just another of Colleen’s victims. I just want someone to ask her “as a 20 y/o today, would you entertain a deep emotional relationship with a 12 y/o? Would you tell them intimate details of your romantic and sex life?” Because atp that seems like the only thing that will snap her out of this.
And don’t even get me started abt the story on how they met. In what world does a private sit down lunch with Colleen out of character “make up” for Jojo missing a party where Colleen was in character as Miranda? Wouldn’t a much more appropriate compromise be free tickets to a live show, with meet and greet before? Definitely sounds like Colleen used the lunch as an opportunity to manipulate Jojo and exploit her for the heinous collabs she did. Absolutely repulsive.
I personally think she will follow the exact same footsteps as James, Shane Dawson, and Colleen that she so readily defends. She will end up becoming one herself!
It’s crazy that Jojo rarely does anything problematic on her own but keeps defending irredeemable people around her. She needs to grow up and just accept that those grown ass adults who befriend her as a child were creeps
It’s so sad. She’s been surrounded by groomers for so long. Colleen, James Charles, Shane Dawson. It’s not going to be easy for her to realize none of that was normal or okay.
@@RT-dm4biSeriously, being a groomed show pony for her entire childhood definitely led her to this point in her life where her public friends are all extremely questionable, if not criminals. When you’re raised by questionable individuals, your worldview becomes questionable in turn, unless you do the very painful and difficult work of questioning those beliefs.
It’s taken me about 15 years to recognise just how bad things were with the guy I dated when I was 19 - he was 38. After things ended, I would always say he was my best friend etc. It can take time. I hope JoJo gets to a place where she can accept that even if her experience wasn’t “bad” it was likely still inappropriate, and part of a larger pattern of behaviour.
I completely agree. Time will tell, and we'll be here when she figures it out. I'm sorry to you and everyone that have gone through confusing situations like this.
Yepp when I was a teen I thought old adults were my friends.. employers that gave me a job for reasons by their agenda and trying to get me closer and teach me things that weren't right. Glad I learned about my intuition and got out sooner than later. Too many nut cases out there taking advantage of young, ignorant minds
the problem with jojo is she knows it’s wrong, and if it wasn’t colleen she would acknowledge it’s wrong. she wants to make any excuse she can for her friend but when she’s making the excuses she catches that she’s defending things she knows are wrong. it’s giving “i’m an advocate for victims”, “i believe all victims”……. ”until my friend is the perpetrator”
JOJO was groomed at such a young age to be who she is since her time on Dance Mom!!! She may love what she does, but she is still groomed by her parents. Colleen became friends with JoJo for younger fans. Jojo is struggling to defend Colleen because she knows it's true. Jojo is a fast talker, and if she highly believes it's all lies, then she would be her normal self instead of masking her emotions!!! I have to make an edit regarding my post. I was wrong in the words I used to describe JOJO being groomed by her parents. She was exploited by her parents, not groomed. I appreciate that someone was able to help me see the difference between the two. I appreciate anyone's feedback and love seeing everyone's thoughts and feedback. Stay safe online🧡
I fear Jojo really doesn't know what her normal self is. She's used to being on camera nonstop (she posts snapchats all day as that's her main source of income, I imagine) and she is constantly working.

I am so happy josh feels cared for. As someone else in recovery, I understand the struggle and shame behind that aspect. Not to mention the massive amounts of trauma he experienced from Colleen, Johnny, and the entire Internet. For him to still be here, sober, is a miracle. I wish the best for him. Thank you for speaking about him Adam.
This is literally how abuse works. The abuser isolates the victim so they don't get to see what's normal, to the point where the victim essentially becomes blind to the abuse and think it's normal. When it's not.
I don't think Jojo has dealt with her own grooming traumas or even realizes that's what happened to her. It's kind of like the child who was abused by their parents and grows up to defend the parents. They can't face what happened to them as a negative the impact it would have on their world view would be too hard.
my opinion is that Jojo is deep in denying because admitting that the situation is real would imply that she was groomed as well, and maybe she doesn't want to confront that. It's complicated it because at this point in time she may actually believe that all are just lies, and she's going to need a lot of therapy when she finally realizes how the adults that surrounded her truly took advantage of her. And for her is not just Colleen but like her hole situation is traumatic, having her childhood display and capitalize.
Good point. If she accepts Colleen *is* this person… than she has to rationalize away how she herself was “befriended” at age 12. It’s easier to just keep it going and not stop to question whether these allegations have any merit.
Also, tbh, I didn’t realize how inappropriate many “relationships” w/ adults I had as a young teen were until I was in my mid-to-late 20’s. I’m still struggling with blaming myself for getting into relationships with much older men as a teen. You feel like a fully grown person during that time. So much arrogance… it sickens me to think about how these literal predators preyed on me.
I thought it was weird that Jojo still supports Shane and James, but now Colleen too? I really don't think it's just an innocent mistake at this point.
And her being friends with and sticking up for so many known predators and groomers is a concerning peek into what she finds acceptable and appropriate
@@Suprachiasmatic she’s literally actively defending multiple groomers when there’s countless victims and pieces of evidence out there. ESPECIALLY about colleen. to see all that and defend, means you have no problem with the behavior. which also means that person could fall into that same exact behavior since they do not see an issue. she needs therapy or this is a very high probability. We all know most groomers were groomed themselves when they were kids. so this statement isn’t fucked up to say
@jmccoy8182 how? You can literally see it unfold in this video. Is she right that Adam lied? The internet "capitalized" on Colleens cancelation? That a woman almost in her 30's befriending a 12yo is OK because they became good friends?

As a 29 year old. Going to be 30 in 2 months. I can’t imagine befriending anyone younger than 25. I don’t know how this woman did it. It just isn’t right. Being friendly is one thing, but to considering yourself “friends” with a 12 year old when you’re 28 blows my Mind.
She went from her parents to Abby Lee Miller to Colleen and I can’t tell if I feel sick for her or if I’m mad that she refuses to see what is wrong. I am a victim of abuse and it is very easy to go in circles but she has been given so many facts and resources that it feels like she’s being purposefully ignorant.
^this. it's so hard to go in circles until you either realize how fucked up it is, or you stay in it for so long, it's almost impossible to break the cycle. i have only as recently as last year got out of that loop. i hope you are healing from what you've experienced
Missed the part about from Collen to Collen's sister to James to Shane from what I've been reading C's sister had a very strange relationship with young Jojo and when she turned 18 boom
I'm a survivor too, and many celebs will just defend their allies and friends knowing full well they are bad - like Danny Masterson's friends protecting him. The entertainment industry is a mess.
She pretty much went from being groomed to being an enabler. That's a sad pipeline. I hope she realises how messed up all of this really is and takes some time to address her own experiences.
This, I think, is a perfect case of how abuse is cyclical. We have someone who was systematically violated on a boundaries level as a kid now cozying up to people who do those things while allegedly beginning to engage in the same toxic behaviours as young as 20.
So Colleen was 28 being besties with a 12 year old?! I'm 26. I can't IMAGINE being friends with a 12 year old. Two years younger than Colleen was. The immaturity of 12/13/14/15 year olds is not something I could deal with daily as 'friends'. I can't even imagine being friends with someone who is 18 at 26 years old.
I'm 21 and couldn't imagine being ‘besties’ with any person younger than 18/19 at least, like, being 28 and a bestie to a 12 yr old is unsettling at the least and just worsens when there is a power imbalance 😖.
I’m 26 years old and don’t even think I’d be friends with anyone younger than 23. The mindset is simply not the same, and the age difference creates a space where there is genuinely no way to relate to that person. The obsession Colleen has always had with young children is incredibly alarming. I get hugeeee huge huge pedophile vibes from Colleen. Grown adults do not personally befriend young children. They prey on them because they are easy, innocent, and vulnerable targets. Colleen is not a safe person for children to be around.
Oof, I have mixed feelings. This take is total career suicide for her but simultaneously she is a victim of Colleen and totally in the thick of her grooming/ abuse. This is a hard one.
She’s still a piece of shit though for invalidating everyone else’s experience with the pedophilic Miranda. Denial or not, you don’t speak for others. She should be speaking on her own personal opinions of Colleen’s. Not invalidating those who Colleen has sexually abused and groomed. Jojo is a TWENTY year old grown adult woman. She’s just an immature piece of shit, it doesn’t mean she shouldn’t know right from wrong yet. She is a grown adult woman. Not a child.
Also she has always been around people taking advantage of her I don't think she knows this stuff is bad because it means knowing bad things happened her that shouldn't of
The way Jojo is literally the most public display of Colleen grooming children is so wild to me seeing as how absolutely brainwashed and in denial she is at this point. Give her ten years maybe and she'll grow up and realize that she is the poster child for grooming and Colleen did it to her (if not even more intensely) than all the other children she spoke to as a full grown adult woman. She's not an exception to Colleen's behavior because they're "friends" because in reality she's actually just the standard of how Colleen behaves and treats children.
I wonder if as a child star there was a lot of grooming going on as she was growing up that it’s hard to differentiate between what is and isn’t grooming. I don’t mean like sexual grooming, but similar to what Colleen did.
I’m just 😦 and 🤢 there is absolutely NO defense for Colleen, James Charles or Shane Dawson….and Jojo hangs around with all three of them!!!! So disgusted that people with a following of young kids are jumping up and down to protect predators!!!
Please take Shane out of this. He has never groomed a child. He made crude jokes when it was popular to do so. He broke down a few years ago and stepped back. He’s done nothing to hurt or harm children ever. With regards to Colleen and everyone digging into her past, that’s also unfair. What she did recently is enough. @@Amarata67 I’m saying it about a person who is defending a groomer. Especially someone whose platform is directly targeted towards children. Just because someone’s a victim of grooming doesn’t mean they can’t and shouldn’t be held accountable for conscious decisions they’re making as an adult. I was a victim of grooming too and you don’t see me out here defending predators. My main point was that she doesn’t come across as having actually taken the time to understand the allegations and speaking on it, which is doing more harm than good.
i swear, the legitimate only reason people hate you is because you keep it honest and you keep it real 100% of the time and they cannot handle it at all.
Listening to jojo talk about this is like watching a blindfolded person take a jog around the edge of a pool. They know the pool is there, they’re avoiding it, but it’s only a matter of time before they take the plunge
i’ve always sort of given her the benefit of the doubt whenever she’s worked with predators (like shane dawson, colleen, james charles) because i know she’s been groomed by these people. BUT for her to deny and minimise someone’s SA experience? to call them liars? absolutely disgusting and imo it’s unforgivable. i honestly hope she gets help. she needs a lot of therapy so she can realise that she too is a victim of these people
the fact there were LITERAL SCREENSHOTS of colleen being creepy towards you and other fans who were also minors. the fact jojo had the audacity to defend her "bEsTiE" is sickening. i'm anticipating the day colleen goes to court for her disgusting actions.
The only way it makes sense is if she's stayed willfully ignorant. It's nuts how much evidence has been documented and shared and to brush it off as "lies" and "cancel culture" is flat out insulting. Given she associates with James Charles though, it doesn't seem like the knowledge would deter her anyway.
If JoJo was also groomed as a child - by anyone - she's going to see it as normal behavior. It might not be audacity so much as a warning sign about JoJo's own childhood.
Howie literally gave her an out too; "we don't have to talk about it". All she had to say was "yeah, let's not" and it likely would have moved forward, but she just had to not only talk about it, but actively become accusatory.
I cannot stand Jojo. With her defending and excusing Colleen I feel it’s only a matter of time until we hear what she’s done. She spent a good portion of time this year pretending to be pregnant and it pissed me off. She’s old enough to know better than that.

As someone studying psychology, this interview FASCINATES me. I could write at least two full papers about it. It goes without saying that this speaks VOLUMES about Jojo. Another commenter said that perhaps Jojo acknowledging Colleen's grooming behavior would mean that Jojo would have to confront that she herself was groomed. Something to keep in mind for sure. I find myself feeling conflicted over all this-- on one hand, I feel bad for Jojo. She's been in the public eye from SUCH a young age, and she had undoubtedly been taken advantage of by pretty much every adult in her vicinity for most of her formative years. I believe she is one of Colleen's victims. However, as she comes into adulthood, it is harder to excuse her behavior, especially when she has such a young audience that she can/will influence. At the same time, I resent the idea that any timeline should be put on people realizing that something they went through wasn't okay. It's an interesting mental tug-of-war for sure. A few specific things stand out to me through this video and this situation in general: - "You were able to do things years ago that were okay, and now that we've grown and we've matured we've realized that they're not okay." ---- Outside of the whole Colleen situation, I think this says something about Jojo. These things were never okay. This is her justifying things Colleen used to joke about. She's doubling down on awful shit just to keep Colleen out of the line of fire. - "I see that... this is a sensitive subject..." ---- Yes. Yes, grooming is a sensitive subject. This is an INSANE way to dance around the topic. It feels detached as hell, to a disturbing level-- perhaps partly because she is trying to distance herself from a situation that she's also experienced to a degree, and maybe partly because she's working overtime to defend someone who doesn't deserve defending. - The whole "real grooming" comment ---- This is a horrific thing to say and I won't expand on that. Come on now. It also makes me suspect that Colleen could be pushing an "I mean, there's what I did, and then there's REAL GROOMING" narrative to her remaining inner circle. Like, "Sure, what I did was kinda weird. But it's not REAL grooming. I wasn't getting 'gratification' from it." - The OBSCENE amount of stuttering, pauses, restructuring of sentences mid-speaking them, avoidance of the questions ---- As Adam stated multiple times, Jojo is VERY VERY VERY VERY media-trained. All the Dance Moms girls were, and Jojo probably even more so since she's remained very much in the public eye due to her presence on UA-cam and her singing career. That makes her pausing and speech irregularities a crazy indicator of what kind of mental gymnastics she's doing in real time. She's likely given a lot of thought to this topic (though not very good thought, considering what side of the fence she's ended up on), and yet the line of questions threw her so badly that her brain couldn't even process her rationalization when attempting to speak it out loud. The blind trust she is putting in someone who *admittedly* distributed another person's nudes, to her friends, close fans, and MINORS, is nuts. She must know at some level that none of this is lies. She wouldn't struggle so badly to answer such simple questions otherwise. - "A lot of it is based on lies" ---- This says so much about how Colleen's inner circles must be functioning right now. I don't know how ANY human being could look at one piece of evidence in this situation and say that Colleen was in the right or that it's all lies, let alone when there are too many pieces of evidence to count. REAL evidence, like videos and screenshots confirmed by multiple people. Not one person who's repeated the whole "it's all lies" thing has been able to identify WHAT specifically has been lied about and HOW the lie was perpetuated. Invalidating all of the victims like this is disgusting. Colleen has to be doing some insane damage control with the people still remaining by her side. I don't see how anyone could defend her, even if they previously loved/still love her. You can love someone and they can still be in the wrong. - The fact that Jojo is publicly friends with who I would consider the big three controversial UA-camrs of this generation of the internet (and they're all groomers lol) ---- This speaks to both the personalities of these UA-camrs (James Charles, Shane Dawson, and Colleen Ballinger all exhibiting EXCEPTIONALLY inappropriate behavior with fans and underaged people in general, so it makes sense they would seek out a young person with a platform to capitalize on the weirdly close relationship they could form with them) and to Jojo/how her upbringing may have impacted her (seeking out adult 'role models' who she looks up to who can take her under their wing, similarly to how Abby did). The combination of these creepy-ass UA-camrs and Jojo automatically being more 'tolerant' to a certain dynamic with adults has led to her being, for lack of a better word, brainwashed.
The quote from Colleen saying she wanted to love on the dance mom kids “ not like creepy babysitter “ and watching this interview realising she actually had access to them is 🤢
She gives me a huge ICK. Not only has she invalidated the trauma that the girls from dance moms had to endure, she is now defending a groomer. She is also just very annoying to be honest
I think she’s just in denial and doesn’t want to face the fact that what she went through wasn’t right, cause it’s easier to pretend you’re okay with it than realize everything you’ve thought was okay wasn’t really what it was.

Poor Jojo, I genuinely feel sorry for her. She is beyond brainwashed and has been since a child. Her mom stood by and let her be abused for fame, and has never had her best interest at heart. So of course she doesn't know any better and doesn't see Colleen's behavior as harmful. I honestly feel bad for her and hope she eventually gets therapy and realizes how she still is letting herself be used for fame to this day.

The fact jojo's audience is minors and she's condoning Colleen's behaviour is VERY concerning
Yes, I agree. I think it’s concerning too.
She had a grooming allegation herself earlier in the year after her dance troupe of minors split. No evidence of but financial abuse and over working the girls the kids have receipts.
She's friends with James Charles and Abby Lee Miller so I'm not surprised that she's targeting victims

Jojo Siwa is an unfortunate example of "successful" grooming. She'll understand how bad this is later in therapy.
She talks like she's brain washed.
My thoughts exactly. She’ll probably realize it mid-late 20’s when she’s still younger than Colleen was but wouldn’t be able to imagine herself befriending kid content creators
exactly what I thought!!
A therapist or ten should help un-brainwash her, but it will take years.
Jojo has been groomed for years by multiple people but that doesn't excuse that she is trying to tell OTHER victims THAT THEIR STORIES ARE LIARS!!!!
As a victim, I've been attacked by other victims. Some people only care about their own protection and their own trauma. I agree, no excuse.

Exactly

She’s so wrapped up in it that she’s not going to realise for a long time.

it’s actually really sad because she thinks these things are normal :(
Yikes, I didn't even consider that.

The attachment kids have to their parents is biological. Sometimes a parent can be horrendously abusive in every way but a part of the child still loves them, and sometimes if they haven’t unpacked their trauma yet- their mind will choose to hide from the abusive aspects if that makes sense.

She targeted her because of her little girl persona. Of course the ballingers have always been nice to her…she’s a millionaire.

She’s still a piece of shit though for invalidating everyone else’s experience with the pedophilic Miranda. Denial or not, you don’t speak for others. She’s just an immature piece of shit, it doesn’t mean she shouldn’t know right from wrong yet. She is a grown adult woman. Not a child.
Also she has always been around people taking advantage of her I don't think she knows this stuff is bad because it means knowing bad things happened her that shouldn't of
Its just so sad all around.

@@twocathome399if you get easily offended over something out of your control it's really lame, infertility isn't even that bad, there's adoption etc nowadays ☠️ and we're overpopulated anyway
@@cuddlingmycat29 i wasn’t offended 🤦🏻♀️ i was just saying it was stupid and how people who DO have a lot of emotions tied to infertility must feel. infertility isn’t that bad to you but it is to people who want to be parents
@@cuddlingmycat29 Women in infertile relationships, in particular, frequently face violence, divorce, social stigma, emotional stress, sadness, anxiety, and low self-esteem due to infertility, which has substantial negative societal effects on life. I personally have made the decision to not have kids, but that doesn’t mean I should downplay the risk, emotions, and trauma that is associated with miscarriages/infertility. Please be more empathetic
@@twocathome399 as someone who is dealing with infertility struggles, it was absolutely sickening. Every month seeing that negative test and then having Jojo pretending for attention shoved in my face everywhere I looked… enraging doesn’t cover it.
The way my jaw DROPPED after her saying all of that... surprised yet not at the same time
It actually hurts listening to her try to defend all her predator friends, on one hand I definitely side eye her for it and on the other I kinda feel bad
“This 30 year old woman was one of my best friends since I was a teenager!” Aaaaaaaaaaand you have lost the plot
A few specific things stand out to me through this video and this situation in general:
- "You were able to do things years ago that were okay, and now that we've grown and we've matured we've realized that they're not okay." ---- Outside of the whole Colleen situation, I think this says something about Jojo.
I wasn't getting 'gratification' from it."
- The OBSCENE amount of stuttering, pauses, restructuring of sentences mid-speaking them, avoidance of the questions ---- As Adam stated multiple times, Jojo is VERY VERY VERY VERY media-trained.
I’m not studying anything and I could write at least two full papers 😮it’s really scary that these people are all aimed at kids !!
Such a great analysis of the situation 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Jojo really must be oblivious tbh
I mean she defends Abby lee so she clearly has a pattern
@@hollyhollis754and James Charles
And hangs out with Shane Dawson
She just doesn't care
The quote from Colleen saying she wanted to love on the dance mom kids “ not like creepy babysitter “ and watching this interview realising she actually had access to them is 🤢
She gives me a huge ICK. Not only has she invalidated the trauma that the girls from dance moms had to endure, she is now defending a groomer. She is also just very annoying to be honest
I think she’s just in denial and doesn’t want to face the fact that what she went through wasn’t right, cause it’s easier to pretend you’re okay with it than realize everything you’ve thought was okay wasn’t really what it was.
@@screwyou1199she could be in denial but are we forgetting that she is 20 years old now? Time for miss Siwa to grow up. She seems to be ignoring the fact Colleen admitted to sending minors Trisha’s nudes, and Jojo is still friends with James.
I have never and will never allow my children to watch jojo siwa. I remember when my daughter first became aware of her existence. From the first moment I watched 1 show with her in it I was like no, same with Caillou. She was always a loud annoying child and I didn't want my daughter to mirror her.
@@sewerwat3r I just think it’s clear Colleen’s grooming was successful. It’s strange that she isn’t questioning things more with everything that’s been admitted, and I imagine she will in time, but at the moment it’s clear this young woman isn’t ready to face it all.
Her words do carry weight though, and she should be more responsible with the false info she’s spreading,
@@screwyou1199they also take a vow of silence 🤫 in Hollywood not to ever speak of what they see or what’s wrong, which is probably why all of these celebrities are defending their creepy friends.
Isn't it strange the only person Defending her is a child that was groomed by her... also Josh stopped talking to Jojo post divorce bc she was a minor and once removed from Colleen's toxicity came back to his senses
Her mom not just stood by and let her be abused, but thrust her into it. Groomed her for stardom since toddlerhood, started with bleaching her hair at age 2. She is not at a point where she recognizes that any of that was wrong/how abnormal her upbringing really was.. I do feel sorry for her also, and agree about therapy.
@Organized_Chaos that is sooo heartbreaking 😢
i also think her publicly defending abby lee speaks volumes as well. it seems like she doesn’t want to talk bad on anybody, even if they are in the wrong. she’s been manipulated since a child and i hope people give her some grace. she is a victim of grooming and her defending colleen proved the manipulation tactics worked.
I’m living for the respect/support Josh and Adam have built for each other. People tried to silence both but now they know they will not be ignored.
Imagine TRISHA PAYTAS being morally superior to you. That’s embarrassing. 😬🍅
She's not though. Trisha ain't a good person just because she got her body laughed at by horrible people. She has done the exact same thing for years /: and ever worse things imo.
@@Somebody9666Trisha groomed multitudes of children? Genuinely curious
@@Somebody9666yeah. I meant like in this situation, which is why I made the comparison. Because she’s bad. I should’ve made that clearer. Thanks for pointing that out!
