I cannot think of Ludwig without linking it to the superb Ringo Starr. Many great stars used Ludwig kits, but it was Ringo who put them in the spotlight forever!
Incredible playing! And an unbelievably rare kit - 10x14" and 14x26" keystone badge '60s drums are almost impossible to find. Those would have been custom order sizes back then as those bigger sizes weren't featured in catalog kits until the '70s blue/olive badge era.
Wow, very cool video, very well played on those beauties! I luv the classic Ludwig black diamond wrap. I had a set of Gretsch specially made with this wrap in 2008, the bass was 22 x 18 virgin, no tom mount, miss those babies.
I often enjoy hearing them pretty much as they would sound in the room. Sometimes just the right amount of compression on an overhead… and you can get a very good sound with that and a kick mic. Thanks for the video!
I thought that was my kit at first glance! I have a Ludwig black-diamond pearl 22, 13, 16, 16 & 14 snare. Where did you find the 18" floor tom? I looked everywhere! Is that the original muffling strip for the bass drum? I still have mine. The date is stamped inside: Sept 24 1965. Great playing, too, by the way!
There are Ludwigs, and then there are others, I'm told.
When I think of what a drum should sound like, I think of Ludwig.

The Rolls Royce of drums=Ludwig ❤
perfects timing and beat, great drummer right there.
Love Ludwig!
Beautiful drums, great tuning, brilliant playing!! What’s not to like about this one!?

Thank you so much! Yes, it is a pretty rare kit. I haven’t seen that many 18” floor toms with keystone badges either 😉
Oh man... this is the TONE!!!
Sound very great
Beautiful playing
This is my dream kit!!!
Love the tunings
Beautiful 👍
This was an awesome watch! Tight playing matched with great-sounding kit 🤙
Amazing playing and beautiful sound, almost perfect!
Absolutely incredible playing and those drums sound fantastic. Great job!!
That little snippet got you one more subscriber, that was rad. Ive been drumming a long time, and still need to nail down that style of roll/fill...

Impressive sound & play!
Maestro on butiful kit...👍
that was some smooth playing man
I'm late but great playing!
Beautiful kit

Thanks for the video!
Thats a actually a beautiful looking and sounding kit right there. Keep it
You're an amazing drummer
Incredible sound!
Nice-looking drums but they all sound like the boxes they were shipped in!
❤Don't call me old.
My friend owned a 68' Ringo snare (maybe 67' was long ago). I loved that drum. Your kit sounds amazing and you play it brilliantly.
They sound wonderful and your playing is great! My only quibble is the tuning between the 13 & 14 are almost identical.
som maravilhoso.
So somebody ask me again why I'm a Ludwig fan!!
Det er ik' så ringe endda.
…ist’s music👍💪😉🥁🎶🍻🍄
Beautiful sounding drums. Your setup is a bit weird, but to each his own. Nice kit, nice playing.
Thanks! It was a bit of an experiment. Normally I don’t have a tom above the floor toms. But great fun!
@@caspersimonsen9515 I have a 2000 classic maple set. I love Lugwig Drums.
Tasty
booahhh you got swing Man!
Very nice playing.
Fans of this kit might like to check out two artists here on Youtbe. Michael Sokil and The Surfrajettes. Both use original '64 kits.
Give me those drums!
Instead of using gels , have you tried their internal mufflers…?
Nice playing…👍🏿
Very nice, but would been better with no muffling, to get a completely accurate sound..
Is that a Supra, by the way..?

На РМИФ похоже. Так же звучит...))
Sounding awesome man nice licks, what mics are you using?
Thanks a lot!
They're actually just cheap T.bone mics. Just a single overhead and a kick mic. Nothing fancy.
Black Sabbath is all I gotta say
sounds amazing!!!
Great playing, but let those toms breathe.
They sound too muffled and almost choked.
would be sick if you miced up every drum
I might be in the minority but I love the 1 overhead mic sound
Don't always crash on one. It will make you sound better.
He sounds great. Curious? Are you a drummer? His technique is excellent. A crash on one, is petty criticism
That's kind of a preference thing, and an unnecessary criticism
@@csisalesbasics673 54 year player. It's the truth! Tony williams said it at a clinic also.
@@katkong281 It was helpful advice! He probably gets it. Yes, I am a teacher. Player since Nixon was elected.
Very nice

Wow! You play fabulously! Sounds so good! How did you learn to play like that?!
Absolutely enjoyable! ❤
